@LGRXHL Why not actually look at the healthbar?

@coryconklin14 You can do it with pretty much anything. Ranged is favoured since they'll take less damage overall and don't have to wander into the whirlwind to do damage in the last phase. That said, melee is doing imba damage right now so it's worth having em anyway.

@Sageisstupid There are 4 raids on launch that you can do, Bastion of Twilight, Skywall, Blackwing Descent and Baradin Hold (the Cata VoA). Firelands is probably coming in the patch after that. Far as I can tell, BoT and Blackwing Descent all have 6 bosses and each instance has an unlockable uber-boss, Algalon-style. All raids have a heroic mode built in from the start as well as 10 and 25 man variants. Obviously that's all subject to change.

@rokjehamers You can't. It is possible it's been changed since (beta is beta), but you CANNOT choose your drake in this current build. The others have a debuffs which basically says they've been knocked the fuck out and will take no part in this fight.

@Braquer It's a feature which was brought in relatively recently to show and remind players just which type of instance they were in (in case they forgot). The number corresponds to the "size" of the dungeon (5 for regular instances, 10/25 for raids), while (at least on the live servers), the skull corresponds to heroic mode or raids.

@Asskikeradz You don't understand how this fight works, I assume because you didn't actually listen to the video. That damage is 100% higher than normal, thanks to the debuff. I was 3rd on the DPS meter. You want to see insane dps? Shoulda seen the Warrior.

@Totalhalibut Why weren't you using Mage Ward? It would certaninly reduce the fire damage incoming and the pushback of it thus making more DPS? Or is it so weak that you waste a GCD?

very nice, you guys almost had it on that first attempt, hard luck. you mentioned something about one of the drakes giving the boss a frenzy buff or something like that, is it possible for a hunters to tranq shot it to remove it or is it not a big deal?

@coryconklin14 Bout the same as far as I know. We've never had anything but the Stone Drake so I'm going entirely off of information pieced together from the forums etc.

Think you could turn on class-colored bars in the raid frames so we can see your raid comp, or do you greatly prefer having the green bars? Just curious to see who's what.

the nether scion i believe will also be a tight one since you see them hitting the enrage timer. And it propablly will take some more time to get him down. And someone here said about the fire shooting dragon if its just here to annoy us. Well instead of giving the boss 1 aoe ability with dmg to all the raid its actually a better feature to put an extra dragon in. 1 Question though if you dont get the slate drake you dont get the healing stacking debuff at all??If y that will be bad

This sure as hell looks like a great gate keeper boss with the stone dragon set up i'm curious to see the other two in action :)

@Mikeanglo there are also alot of those for ranged that melee doesnt have to worry about such as mechanics like vile gas and things similar ect...

Phase Three is a nice tribute to the BC boss King Maulgar but with that stone Drake debuff...it could be even harder. And watching some of this is nice to hear that they are using the old BWL Drake Change to make it interesting. I also hope you have a wipe-a-thon for Omnitron. It's a pretty neat boss that keeps you on your toes.

Shouldn't the boss and the drake be tanked a bit more far from the behemoth dragon if you take more damage if you stand closer to it? =)

@Oggyx it really depends on the dragons that are up. this past week we attempted halfus with the nether, slate, and storm up. thats basically the worst and most harsh combo you can have. this is an insanely hard combo, quite healing intense. and as he stated the slate dragon is pretty fuckin hard. in the all 3 drakes combo, what we did to defeat them was we pulled the storm and nether drake at the same time, that way the Shadow nova the storm drake allows the boss to use is able to be.

@TotalHalibut This seems consistent with what I've seen in the other videos of this fight. Perhaps you can on Heroic mode, but watching a 25man video of this boss I noticed the Bronze drake was knocked out, as were the rest, and the only option appeared to be a Netherdrake. It is still possible that a change took place, though; this is merely something I noticed.

also, it's probably better to use your bloodlust/heroism/timewarp at the start of the fight b/c the damage increase will be a "make up" for it in the end. helps greatly with the rage timer.

@Oggyx !CONTINUATION OF FIRST REPLY! interrupted, if you do not have this drake up it will be impossible to interrupt the cast because its like a .6 sec cast if you leave him locked. with the nether drake out as well, the debuff stacked on the boss by the slate dragon, is slowed/stopped at 5 stacks, making it WAYYYY easier to tank swap. FOCUS ON THE STORM DRAGON FIRST! once the storm dragon is down, his debuff goes away and the shadow nova is gone. as well as the 1/3 buff you gain from the.

I was slightly disappointed with the difficulty of this boss, however, I am looking forward to the next video with a boss that is more challenging!

ive got the caster staff and the caster mail pants out of here. we Downed Halfus on Drenden (guild name Cairdeas) on saturday with the staff and i think and melle trinket drop. we killed the top right drake first then the time drake and after abt 20 differant strats and attempts mixing in Slate on and off we downed him. very hard to heal this Spriests have more trouble on this fight do to the fact of the moving sort of fight, and as a resto shaman i run around in GW staying out of fireballs. GL!

We tried this fight last night and he had the 100% attack speed with whelps. Starting the fight (Im a warrior tank), he was hitting like a truck and was stacking the debuff to 7 under 10 second (I have a shit load of mitigation and avoidance). Thus, if you're entering there the first time, he has the 100% speed buff and your guild is geared in 1-2 epic, some heroics, your healers might cry and go oom very quick. Not suggested as a first boss to kill with that buff he has haha

@Mikeanglo lol try being a hunter when you have to stack on boss. or be really really close to one with a big hitbox.

I side more with the progression philosophy. That way there is a good reason to go all the way thru and allow those not familiar or geared to do some raid content.
