    For that kind of money I could set up a quality back pack with a light weight tent, mattress, sleeping bag, cooking gear and still get change. Why would anyone want this pack full of several variations of the same substandard items. I don't even want one of these crappy knives let alone 12 of them. I'd rather just buy a good back pack that re-invests what Gerber would charge the end user for Bears naming rights.

    I do not think for one moment that Bear Grylls designed this. He is SASR trained, and this is not based on SAS field proven equipment. This is a commercial venture using his name. Most of the stuff I have seen with his name on it is rubbish. There are a lot of videos on KZread that show how to set up bug out bags and review equipment. Do your research, and build your pack to suit your needs. LEARN TO USE YOUR EQUIPMENT, and save $ 950.

  • @G1NZOU

    @G1NZOU

    Agreed, it's the brand directors of the show and the company's that sponsor the Bear Grylls brand name responsible for this, I doubt Bear as an individual would recommend a wealthy person just buy this and without even knowing what's in it or how to use half the stuff just wander out into the wild, that would never end well. Bear Grylls recommends to travel light with basic but trustworthy gear, you see him on his show's just carrying and wearing the bare minimum. And a bag you pack yourself is always going to be more effective than a premade kit.

    I still think in a SHTF environment, any backpack will draw attention.. people will be desparate and they don’t care what color it is or whether it looks tactical. That’s why i would highly recommend a belt and maybe a water resevoir type pack that can be under your heavy jacket for basic essentials

    Something about having a pack of survival tools with Bear Grylls name on it makes me feel uneasy. Like it's more about the name brand than the quality. I could buy everything here for half the price with much better quality. In a survival situation, who's really going to care of the tool was sponsored by Bear Grylls?

    Well said. And I'll add that buying Bear Grylls products would also make me feel...like a moron and a sucker. Like you said, there are products on the market which are cheaper and better or same quality. And to answer your question about who's going to care: Gerber and Bear Grylls. They care so much they might even throw in a 50 dollar Beaer Grylls solid fuel tablet as a promo.

    No one is going to go camping or bug out with over 18 blades. Gerber has to know that all these knives are just going to sit in someone's garage or be separated into different packs, in which case it makes no point selling it all in one pack.

    Dude. Whoever decided what goes into that pack really loves knives... Isn't the point of survival gear that you don't need all that crap? One good knife, an axe, a sharpener and a fire starter. Add a tent and/or sleeping bag, a super compact oven, alcohol, water and dry food. Slap a good length of paracord to one side and a mini shovel to the other side. That's a survival kit.

Headlamp/flashlight = theres a portable LED flash in the survival tool pack. 5. water filtration/stainless pot= u can boil water by using the stainless pot inside the BG canteen, FYI theres an orange color pot like there good for boiling water and cooking foods. 6.scissors is in the survival tool pack 7Knife sharpener is on the ultimate pro fix blade knife holder 8.u dont need match if you have a fire steel in the ultimate fix knife 9.dididnt u see the compact compass at 20:18?

    If Gerber do add these things im pretty sure the price would be well over $1000, there are 2 flash lights and a headlamp and there are scissors on 1 or 2 of the multi-tools but this bag is not going for a full bug out its only something that is meant for short term such as 72 hours. the pack is also made out of the same material that power kites are made out of so you its only meant for light weight stuff and not for extreme wear and tear

    Just an FYI, the "compression strap" on the top under the top lid is there to secure a climbing rope, and the orange "tie down straps" at the bottom are ice axe loops which could carry an axe like you described, however the way you described using them could damage the pack or injure the wearer.

    I am neutral on this and therefore I am not promoting nor demoting the backpack or the gear but The pack itself is available for around $100 give or take 20 bucks. I think the "Ultimate Pack" bundle which includes all the gear is meant for the enthusiasts and strong fans of Bear Grills in is the entire collection. There are always offers on product lines where you can get the entire collection for a certain price. In fact Gopro cameras has a giveaway where you can win the entire camera and accessory arsenal, yet it would be unlikely and impractical to carry all the gear and use it in one outing. If I were interested, I would just buy the pack as most people would which is a decent price. I find it to be best to stick with tested and proved quality brands for each specific tool anyhow as many people do in the fields they are interested in. Gotta say though, I would be a bit shy to carry around the pack with a big BG logo on it too. No offense to Bear, I like the guy but it's just how I am. I would be just as shy wearing the hat Indiana Jones wears if it said "Indiana Jones" on it - lol Also, I find that buying a good compass is far safer than relying on ones that comes with another product or only cost a few dollars. This gear likely isn't intended for serious adventurers who likely have most of their gear already.

    Personally, I REALLY like the Arcteryx L.E.A.F. Khard bags. Operatives use these and they are sturdier, lighter and more multifunctional than ANY bag I've ever seen. I like having it float and swim with it as a boyancy object while carrying armament and all supplies.

    That's a very nice pack. Designed very similar to the marine corps ILBE pack, just more light weight and recreational.

    These kind of "pro" reviews just suck. You strapped you rifle to the pack and hiked how many meters:) It's obvious this pack is useless and will not stand for any long term use. The hip/waist belt is too thin to support/carry anything of importance. Like most BG stuff it's useless. Regards, Lars

    Merry Christmas..... decent pack but the items can be changed to have 1 of each with some food, tent, sleeping bag and cooking set. No need for multiple of the same use type products. This seems more like a collector/hoarder kit
