I have been farming with routes and farmhud for a long time. Great Addons. I personally cluster in a 95yds range because i've recognized, thet with my settings the range on which the nodes gets visual is 100, not 60yds. That way i get slightly faster routes, but I only have a leeway of 5 yds to not miss the nodes. Thanks for the great video.

forbidden zones can be specified in the route settings for each path, after that you need to enable their accounting and re-optimize the path, those deposits that fall into the forbidden zones simply will not enter the path

This is without a doubt the best setup for farming, but with SL and no flying yet the major pain is trying to follow the optimized route on the ground.

Having issues with creating a route with Vale of Eternal Blossoms, I'm trying to set a trillium ore route. Either it doesn't pop-up/show on the drop-down to add route and when it does gathermate2 data shows nothing. I even went to Zidormi to convert back to pre-visions and no data pops up, I've tried reloading UI and shutting off the game and restarting the game. Not sure what's up with it and why it's not acting right for me. :-(

Getting PTSD flashbacks of farming whiptail in Uldum!

so my routes is now screwy, it wont let me add any more routes for any new areas. The areas where it says to import data from is greyed out and nothing is selectable. Any ideas?

Does anyone use routes for Classic? I have it set up and for the most part it works but as there is no flying, you just can't follow the routes it gives sometimes. I can't get the manually edit route or taboo working, you just can't click the nodes. Is there a trick to getting this to work in Classic or is this functionality just not available?

Hey quick question, i cant seem to get the routes to show up via farmhub. The lines arent there and im not sure why. Do you know any reason why it might not be working? I can see the routes on the big map when i click M.

About "routes". If you wish to skip a small peace of land, like you did for herbalism, you could actually use "taboo" function. Try it out

EDIT: Missed the Bare Route Action The Gathermate 2 Data doesn't seem to work for me I have the addon there and it does highlight the units I'm tracking, but the route won't show. What do?

hey, thanks for the video, i have a question, i did everything like you did, it works perfect, when i log off tho, i cant bring my saved route back even tho i see it in the saved routes window, how do you bring your saved routes back on the map to avoid remaking all this work every time u play the game?

do you ever try to sell the grey items. tsm tells me sometimes that some on my server can sell for over 100k but seems like bs to me. doesn't cost me must to put them on so gonna try but would like anyones thoughts on this.

How do you get your routes line to rotate with you? Mine stays static, and it's near impossible to follow - I use ElvUI.

hi, could MoP/WoD/cata tmog sells? cuz i check cata and panda BS crafting and it something good, average 5-20k per item (60-200 items) so, i want to know, can it be sold? or it just waste of time and resources?

Hey, so i've tested this and everything worked super fine, i was really happy with the results.. I made a zin-anthid route in nazjatar and life was good but after like 2 weeks, without changing anything the active nodes dont show up as yellow dots anymore. Took me 3 laps around the whole map to figure out something was wrong.. Now i tried reinstalling and everything but nothing seems to work.. any ideas?

Likely that you have a multiboxer with a 5 man team farming herbs there. Once all 5 hit the herb it instantly disappears. makes it real hard to farm for herbs. I know on my server they do this with WM on and off at different times. you may need to switch wm on/off or try and jump to different realms to farm the herbs

I dont like farming but my ah just doesnt have Adamantite Ore, I need to go and farm myself. This is still superhelpful!

Not that I know of, but I suppose you could change the icon in gathermate to an image of text

for me gathermate 2 and both data are out of date has there benn a fix for this ?

Hey Reckles, I just recently set this up via your guide and am having trouble with setting up routes in Uldum and Vale specifically. Both zones seem to be missing from routes and Ive tried every googled fix I could find and still cant seem to resolve it. Any ideas how/if/when this will be fixable? Wanted to set up a Whiptail farm :(

See the route int he video. I tried it. Before I'd go into caves I didn't today. It isn't exactly like that path. As I like to make my own what feels right to me you know. Anyway no caves I got nearly 4 stacks of ore which I normally get going into caves just little bit more with caves but I got more herbs now before I would average about 3 stacks for the farm session. Now i pulled in over 4 nearly 5 stacks. Herbs sell for a higher on my server which made me happy to pull in that many herbs.

Nice video! I'm gonna start using this stuff. However, is it coincidence that Uldum does not show up in my list of Zones for making a route? I see a huge list, but Uldum nowhere to be found... Any ideas?

The maps for the assault zones broke when 8.3 introduced them. My guess is since there's actually different node placement in them.

Love your UI you should share it :)

What's the advantage to making the second route to get rid of areas you don't want to include vs just making a taboo? Seems like your way would take a ton more time to do.

You can absolutely do what works for you. I like recreating them because then I have a manual one that I can adjust the points on. The auto version might say that you need to fly all the way across a pond, when - based on your experience - you know you only need to go halfway across. A manual one allows you to adjust that corner a smidge. These are routes that I've been using and farming with for years, so each has 20, 50, maybe 100 little corrections. Deviations from the auto-generated. You know, "there are many routes like it but this one is mine." You're right that I probably should have included some info on taboo's, but when I was making it, the vid already felt too in-depth.

Uldum isn´t listed anymore. Can someone give in import link for Uldum?

If it's TomTom waypoints or something like that, those are in the TomTom settings. But for the default "go here for the next part of the quest," those arrows, you can turn them off in the Interface settings.

uldum is not listed, i can't create a route for it.

I've been having the same problem. It's just the interface that's borked though. Previously created routes are still visible. Either wait for an update to the addon, or you could try downloading an older vision and see if you can find one that works.

I'm typing /routes and all the game says is "type /help for a list of commands"

Sounds like you just turned off node tracking accidentally. That's just part of the default UI. Click the little magnifying glass on the minimap and turn on herb and ore tracking.

does gathermate data also works for BFA?

In relation to this venture in farming I am interested in what is your position on multi boxing. What is to stop someone from having 3,5,or even 50 bots all farming for the same amount of work. I was totally in favour of having the following feature to go somewhere you didn't know how to get to, but competing with trains of these multi boxers to farm herbs and ores is destroying the AH and the idea of no work no pay. What are your thoughts and maybe you could do a video on this. This whole idea affects the nature of the game as well as Blizzards bottom line short term. Thanks and keep up the great videos.

Working on a similar video right now. I'm neutral to it. So, answer me this: what is the difference to the market between 1 player playing 5 accounts and 5 players playing 5 accounts? Here's my thoughts. In both situations, you're buying a wowtoken a month, buying bags and maintenance stuff, and controlling everything your toons do. For differences, five players can farm more herbs per hour because 1 person can't be as efficient as 5. The five different players undercut more often as well because it's 5 different people who want to get the sale. So a multiboxer is actually better for the economy and easier to compete with. They're putting fewer herbs on the AH and tanking the market less than the alternative. It just feels like you can't compete because you're comparing 1 toon to multiple toons. Here's Blizz's comments: us.battle.net/forums/en/wow/topic/5271779854#12 I've been multiboxing for the giveaway for about 3 months now and I can tell you that it's significantly more difficult than solo farming for about one-third to half the results per toon. I can get 900 ghost iron ore per hour solo. Most I've gotten per toon with my 8-man is 300.

WTBGold your data doesn't add up. Using your example single player gets 800 the group of 8 gets 2400 (300 each). By supply and demand more on the market drives the price down simple economics. Your undercutting by single person is not viable either. The group of 8 all belong to one player who put the goods on the ah by undercutting wit six times the goods. This harvesting is all done by the same amount of work wether the group is one or eight which would be no problem so long as the reward was proportional to the investment of time put in. Basically to save account money income for blizzard they approved it all but the seven of your group of eight are just basically bots run by mimicking your computer instructions. It seems a little hypocritical to ban bots and allow bots if they are in a boxed group. These are my thoughts and will probably determine if I keep playing Shadowlands.

@@spcvicar3240 They aren't bots. You're physically controlling every action of every toon. The work is not the same for 1 vs 8. Speed of undercutting matters more than amount posted. If you aren't going to listen, I wish you luck, but I'm done here.

Not being able to adjust circles size in farmhud is a joke.... I had to change lua code to make it work :/

Is there a way so it only shows the active nodes. Because on my map it shows every single possible spawn location of the nodes, but not the ones that are specifically active at the time. If it could show the active ones only, it would make this too insanely more efficient. Please let me know about it!

Oh, like, only the ones that have spawned? No, and here's my understanding as to why that won't ever happen. All nodes are up all the time, but there's a tag in the coding for each indicating whether it's visible or invisible for your specific game client. They're all up and invisible all the time but the visible tag doesn't activate until you're in range. So from the player side of things, while you might be in a party and have someone say "anchor weed on me! come quick," while y'all are looking at the same spawn, it doesn't actually exist in your iteration of WoW until you get within 60 yards. It's technically two different spawns in both players versions of WoW. And if it doesn't exist until you see it, then the addon can't tell you if it's up. Anyone with more techy Blizz-computer-nerd knowledge please correct me if I'm wrong.

It's basically to both prevent exploitation ( like bots / hacks ), as well as providing its intended interaction ...having to find resources. If the map or addons had access to knowing at any given point on the map where exactly the active nodes were ...it would fundamentally trivialize the experience. You wouldn't fly around routes looking for mats , you would make straight lines exactly to where the node is. Imagine if farming for a super rare mount like timeless drake when you know exactly where it is at and when it is up. You both cut down something that could take hours or days into something that will take seconds. Farming for nodes would be an impossibility with a populated or determined enough group of people ...as they would all know immediately when something spawned ..and go for it. Imagine the bot crisis, having entirely rudimentary scripts being able to make simplistic bee-lines to nodes, rather than having to articulate routes and happen upon them naturally. It would literally be ...bees swarming flowers that aren't hiding the fact that they have treasure on them. This use to be the case back in vanilla / tbc , to a lesser degree. People could just stand at a mining node and it would respawn almost on a deterministic clock at the same location. It didn't make gathering all that enjoyable ....it was just a bunch of people / bots camping.

Just a quick tip, I'm not sure if you are using some sort of red border or not on the thumbnail.... but it makes it look like I've watched the video already. Makes me less likely to click on it.

Hey! I accidentally deleted the routes addon and now when I have downloaded it again and try to type "routes" in the chat it jus says "type /Help for a listing of a few commands". Any ideas? By the way love the content!

You should go over a guide on how to import other guide makers routes :P. I don't fully know how to :/. Also if yo know how to fix routes that are in the LUA file but cannot be accessed through the addon in game. A little help on that would be great too ;)

You actually have to scrap it out of the addons code. Tried to do this for a new to wow friend but gave up and just had her copy over my routes.

That was originally part of this, but you have to copy paste the LUA file directly and the old guides on this from tarou etc don't apply anymore b/c blizz changed code. I don't know enough about LUA and don't want to be responsible for accidentally breaking anyone's game. :(

Pretty much. Gather mate marks nodes you've looted from into a personal database. People have compiled all their data into one giant database. Doesn't have everything, but most

I hit cluster route and it freezes and doesn't work :(

takes a little computing power so if you're not running the best computer, give it a second. It'll finish in 10 seconds or so

I don't think it has any data in it. It's just the framework. Gathermate2_Data does though. Download that too and import. The routes integration's been weird recently though so if things are buggy just hang tight and do what you can

Whiptail is used for the Vial of the Sands mount, and all the mats for that net about 30k-60k profit in an hour of farming

Tools of the trade tailoring. Let's you farm all the old cooldown cloth that requires primals and annoying expensive stuff like that. TL;DR saves you about 50k/hr when restocking tailoring

Keep in mind sharing routes from this addon is extremely impossible so try not to ask him to share them. Also try out other old mats, my friend and I made decent passive gold selling copper and iron so you never know.

That may or may not have been the case a year ago when this comment was made, but there is a Routes Export/Import add-on also built exactly for this purpose. Lots of resources out there with shared routes available by simply copy pasting an import string into the addon.
