This is a crash video of the large-scale model of the gorgeous, expensive flying F-100 Sabre. It is a heavy model over 50#. With a high G-pull on the elevator going over 160 miles an hour, it probably put a G-force of 3-4 times its weight and rotated at 70-80 degrees to make that 200-pound jet. The servos on the left elevator broke, causing the aircraft to spin uncontrollably down to the alligator lake!
This treacherous lake was filled with vicious, hungry, untamed alligators, and a recent video showed them swimming around. The park ranger in attendance admonished us not to swim in it, and a placard posted "no swimming." Parkgoers tend to feed the alligators, so they stay in the lake. Fortunately, we weren't attacked, although the model's front section was gone. Most of the electronics were recovered, and the turbine housing was also found. It was a $12,000 loss; there was no insurance. The model's owner was tearful and nearly inconsolable, but he rationalized he should buy another. It may help with his sorrow. Is anyone selling an F-100?

one possibility-used coreless servo on the elevators. They overheat under high load if they're not moving much.

You never had any radio signal control loss because of those metallic fences ? I think it acts like a faraday cage ! I see in the video that your radio was occulted by this metallic post at the time it happened ! Just wondering because we had 2 guys at our field that had a temporary loss of signal, and we think it's because of our metal fences like yours. We will get rid of them and replace it with non metallic material just to be sure. Sorry for your loss !
Is that the park close to Weston? Why they do not remove the aligator to aligator allí.?

Yes left elevator. You can see it spin when Ali pulls the elevator to turn and get out of the dive. Assessment On the ground the left servo linkage was out while the right side remain despite the crash.
