I have shot hundreds of rolls of expired film, and have never had a problem going 1 stop over as well. Nice work Roger
I believe your were at the Island Line. Thanks for the video! Thanks haven’t had much luck with expired film in the past, but your video has inspired me to try again. Thank you!
Island line. Loved the video as usual, you have really inspired me to go and shoot things near me and not just rely on trips away. I have shot expired film and you're completely right about the excitement of how they'll turn out. Keep up the great work
Just started developing my own bw film and did my first couple of prints in my darkroom I built into my tiny bathroom and really enjoying it so far! Obviously you and your channel have been a huge influence and showed me how much fun the process coud be. So would love those Agfa rolls to try some more stuff with developing and printing. And it should be the "Island Line" I reckon :) Best wishes from Berlin!

Island line. Interesting to see what can be done with older film and helpful hints on the pitfalls of shooting and exposure/dev compensation. Would love to try some of this out in my old Nettar!
Brilliant! I loved this video on so many fronts - firstly I've just picked up a Yashica Mat 127g so its nice to see you shoot yours, secondly seeing how you determine developing expired film and if you need to develop longer or not. I've read about it, but not seen the paper test underneath (so thank you!) I've only ever tried the modern APX in 35mm. The rail company is 'Island Line'. 🤞
would love to try some of that stuff! cheers for the video rog
Island Line. Great work Roger, keep it up!
For the competition, I think it was Island Line. Excellent video as always Roger
Great video! Thanks Roger.
Island Line is the railway. Great video. Agfa used to have a great variety of color and Black and white film.
Island line, part of the South Western Railway franchise. Great video as usual.
Fun experimenting with expired film. Well done and it looks like the Island Line!
Island Line - i've just shot a roll of HP5 and i'm loving shooting b&w in my Walzflex TLR. something so timeless about it. great shots!
Very interesting video as always, thanks
Island Rail. Great vid as always.
Looks like Sandown Station? Those rolls turned out pretty good! I use expired film a lot because I like the challenge. Never know what your gonna get. Looks like yours turned out really well. I shot a couple rolls of 8 year expired drug store brand color film once that had been stored in a cars glove box for most of that time. I was amazed! The colors were much brighter and deeper than an expensive roll of kodak that was brand new! Happy accidents.....gotta love em!!
Island Line is the name on the train. Thanks for another great video :)
Island line, I thought the 1 stop for 10 years out of date was for colour film. Black and white film doesn't usually lose sensitivity it just gets base fog with age. Love the audio clip you used of the train announcement that's my local line and I have heard that many a time. Great video as always 👍
Hi Roger, the results are amazing, I think since films were in the fridge, the age impact would be very minimal. Meanwhile, I think just to be more safe, I would develop them in semi-stand development, but anyhow the photos were great and again Agfa APX proves it’s quality.
Island Line. Never shot expired film but would love to try now after watching your video, especially that old!
Nice shots with the Yashicamat! Sandown was my station for school when the steamtrains were running.

I remember shooting that older style roll, loved Agfa APX! And bought and shot a lot of 200 asa 35mm film too. Nothing wrong about shooting expired film if it’s been frozen or refrigerated.
Island line....in it to win it. Seriously though, enjoyable as ever. Great results and a great top tip on the first frame overexposure!

The name of the train is ISLAND LINE. I have a brick of frozen kodak VPSii from a friend whose freezer went on the blink. He discovered it when it started to smell bad. Then re froze. It went bad in a few weeks. I used it for changing bag practice.
I am not a huge Black & White shooter but you sure make some great ones.. Love the bench print.
Another good video! Sandown Station, right? Thanks for your good work.
That'll be the Island Line - even though you tried to fool me with an announcement in the background from the Sidcup line in London. Very educational and helpful tips about using old film. Thanks.

Island Line !! Film did well considering how far out of date it was I have some film in the freezer looking at your results I have nothing to worry about thanks again
I have some rolls of APX from 1989 to 2003, they are in excelent shape, oh boy such a nice film it was ....
Nice results. Always nervous shooting expired film because you never know when that one glorious shot is going to present itself and get ruined by bad film. Time to head down to the Island Line. Cheers.
The train line is The Island Line, Another interesting video, Thanks Roger.
Island Lines? Love the video. Never tried expired film but would be nice to try. Enjoy your darkroom work. You have inspired me to set up one in my basement here in Toronto Canada. Keep up the great work.

Island Line for the competition. Traveled on it more times than I care to remember - esp on the old trains not long out of service.
I have a fridge just for film that I have accumulated over the years. Very handy tips as ever thanks. Island line.
I've got a roll of 120 Ilford Selachrome that expired in September 1951. It wasn't originally 120 but I had it rerolled onto 120 for my Mamiya C3. Just tring to find the right time to shoot it, likely I'll bracket 4x3 shots to give myself a chance of getting something. All my other 120 is expired but it generally works out okay. Rail line is Island Line and yes, I would love to have the print and the film. Good fun to watch Roger. Cheers!
Island Line I have bag of expired film to work through, picked it up for very little money so wasn’t too bothered that I had no idea how it was stored. Just developed the first roll , Tudor colour 35mm which seems to be very usable although the base is darker than it should be. I’m more confident to use more from the bag having seen promising results from roll one. There is colour and black and white too, in 35 and 120. Going to keep me busy for a while
Island Line and great results with that expired film. It's so much fun and interesting shooting expired film. It's always a surprise to see what you got or didn't get. Lol
Island Line! I've never shot expired film before. Last week I shot my first roll of 120 - I'm hooked!

Island Line. Great video and images!
Hi Roger great video and well presented. The rail line is the Island Line,
South Western Island Line. Love how well they came out.
It looks like the island line! I got a few rolls of Agfa APX100 from Germany and they were from 2005/6 which had the new paper backings/paper wrap around and sealed packaging.
Competition - Island Line. I used to shoot 35mm Agfa Pan in the 1980s, but never 120. It was a sad day when Agfa ceased film production.
Island Line. Those results are lovely! Speaking of Silvermax, I grabbed some of the last batch from Adox. I've been trying to sort out when/how to use it. Sort of my problem with expired films. I'm leery of using them for something super important but then don't want to waste them just farting around. I have some ancient Panatomic-X that I know was stored frozen for decades but same kinda thing. Not quite sure how to approach those since I have a limited number of rolls. I've heard Panatomic-X holds up really well though (if frozen).
Island Line - I loved the Agfa APX films, especially APX 25. I tried the Rollei RPX 25 film but it was hit and or miss. Major mottling problem with that film. RPX 100 has been pretty good so far. I had good success with T-Max 100 from 2012 developed in HC-110 a year ago. Love your videos, looking forward to the next one.
Island Line was the name for the competition. I love shooting expired film. I have several rolls of refrigerated Kodak P3200 from 1989 that I shoot at ISO 400 and have to develop at a colder temperature while also adding some potassium bromide solution to reduce the base fog. I love the quality of grain and tonality that I get.
Looks like "Island Line" to me as well! I'm in California so if you're not wanting to ship that far, no worries! I just got my Ansco Viking camera light tight and the lens ready to go. My Viking is virtually set up with the same lens that your AGFA Record camera. I'm hoping I get the same quality you did in the farm video! Cheers!
Island Line, Yet another great video. And thanks for the help via email.

Nice results, the film has been kept well. I have some Agfapan 100 in 35mm. Haven't shot it yet. It says Island Line on the train but the company is called South Western Railway if I'm not mistaken.
Thanks, it was interesting!

The rail company is 'Island line'. Amazing photos, would love to be able to test out this film. Being a younger photographer i havent managed to shoot any agfa film.
Island line, Sandown Station... Occupational hazards of a railway engineer 😅 I have come across several expired rolls and bulk film. From my experience b&w is usually usable if stored in normal conditions. The lower the iso and the higher the silver content the better. I have also a nice collection of expired film bought new over 15 years ago and frozen since. Except in ISO800 films there is no fogging not loss of speed. Congratulations for your videos, you have a great attitude towards photography that really is contagious 😊

Hmmm, that would be the Island Line, but the station underpass appears to be sporting the Southern Railway green. Post grouping but before nationalisation, as the Island's railway was absorbed into the Southern with the creation of 'The Big Four', one for the train nerds I guess. Back in the day, mid to late '80s' into the early '90s' I shot Agfa APX50, now that was a contrasty beast, usable on 120 but a little too extreme for 35mm format, or at least that was my takeaway. When I started my photographic journey as a child I shot everything on Agfa CT18, a 50iso colour slide film. It taught you how to expose correctly, a vety tight exposure latitude on that stuff, fantastic picture quality though!
Excellent video as usual is it the island line at sands down station
Island Line - but I did go back and look! The print looks great and I will happily shoot the film if I win. Thanks.
Yep Roger "Island Line", Interesting video, have never shot expired film
They came in different colors some of the 90´s APX came with orange letters in the wrap, the 2k´s APX in red letters. Also the boxes are different, the older ones came with an extra silver ink making thta box the mos elegant EVER. Bonus track. The adhesive tape is mint flavored, another trully nice unespected touch.

Island Line is the name on the train. And good visual explanation on overexposing the first frame to verify your development time. Just starting home developing and I think the several I've developed are decent but I've got nothing to physically compare them to. Knowing the overexposed 1st frame should be pretty dark will help. Cheers.

I always like my leader or 1st frame to be slightly see through if I hold it up to the light. If I cant see the light and it's totally dense then my highlights in the photos will be blown

Island line. looks like you got lucky with some well stored expired film.
When i bought my latest bronica sq-a i got a roll of 20 year expired HP-5. Shot it and developed it, the paper backing stuck to the film so it made this really old looking texture effect, was pretty cool. I took a photo of my friends kids and made a darkroom print on expired and fogged paper so it looked super old school.. one of the kids got it for his 5th birthday to hang in his room!

I've had that before. It does look whacky!
I shoot a lot of expired film. From 1960’s to early 2000’s getting mixed results. I can’t remember where I read it but the rule of thumb in shooting expired film is adjust a stop per decade but I kind of base it around if I know how the film was stored as well. Also mostly using a Yashicamat 124g coincidentally.
Island Line. Sandown. Great comparison. Informative

Hey Roger! Nice photos, as usual, mate! 😀 I own the same camera (I find that it really needs a lens hood, lots of lens flare in some light conditions). I'm a sucker for stand development, what about give it a try with these expired films, since it's hard to know the right amount of time? Either with Rodinal or HC110 I'd say. Should do the trick. About the line, that should be "Sandown train station", part of the "Island Line" train system! Cheers! 😉
@ShootFilmLikeaBoss

I have a hood and mostly forget to take it!
Island line, I believe. I find that black and white naturally holds up a lot better over time so I'm usually more comfortable shooting expired rolls of b&w than colour.
I've recently shot some APX expired in 2010, and it gave very satisfactory results
I love the randomness of expired film. I’m sitting on about 100 sheets of Tri-X 400 from 2006, it was free so I’m not worried about it LOL Sandown Station is my guess sounds like a beach runner, ours in Southern California is the Sundowner
The train line is Island Line, but the name of the railway company is South Western Railway. Back in the 90s I was shooting film and always wanted to get into medium format, but I was young and couldn't afford a medium format camera system. Then digital came along and killed film so I stopped photographing in the early 2000s, until a couple of years ago. I finally bought a digital camera and after looking further into the current film market decided to finally make my old dreams a reality. I decided on a Mamiya 645 pro to start off with and black and white is my preferred medium.

Hi Roger ,the name on the train is Island Line
Island Line.. looks pretty good to me!
Island Line I've shot a few rolls of expired film (not more than 5 years old) and it was fine. The film had been in the fridge but not frozen.
Tony Newlands I haven't ever shot expired film, I have used the new APX, but only once, I think Island Line, was the name of the Rail Company. all the best From Germany.
Great video. Sandown station on the IOW. Island Line, operated by South Western Railway.
Island line, Boss!
I regularly shoot expired film, and with mixed results. Colour is not worth it in my opinion, but black and white is usually okay. I also tend to shoot 1 stop over. I store my rolls in the fridge, not freezer. Anyway, nice video again. And the line is Island line , as everybody else has already mentioned 😊.
Island line.. look forward to shooting it in my Rolliecord or No.1 Pocket Kodak folder and doing a video review of the results. Would probably use Microphene. Thought the interesting thing was how well defined/exposed the film type edge printout was. The APX branding type is definitely different on each roll and the density would seem to suggest that he processing was sufficient, having been exposed at the time of manufacture.. not much latent image regression! Also noted that the exposed film lick and stick band was 3 colour printed on the older film and single colour printed on the later produced roll. Agfa starting to economise or produced in a less well serviced region for the printing required. Anyway, those differences would point to it not being simply frozen stock from pre 2005 maybe. Thanks for your great inspiring videos.. hope to get my darkroom back up and running in some form! 😉📷

I bought a 100' roll of Kodak ortho film that expired in 1979. It was ISO (ASA, actually) 12. My camera only went to 25, so I had to push it a stop for that, plus I did the stop per decade thing. It actually turned out really well, except super contrasty (which I expected with ortho film). I'm always up for expired film, but for anything critical I won't use it, unless I have new film as well.

Imagine being commissioned for a job, on film, and you turn up all expired film 😂. That would be a gamble!
Hi . I enjoyed shooting expired films. In 35 mm , I usually sacrificed about five frames to find out the best shooting conditions for my expired film. But in 120 films it's not so easy and for best result one film must test by different exposure levels.
I think it's Island line, Sandown Station, if my ageing eyesight is correct!
Hello Roger, just me trying to take those rolls from you and the print 🤣. Sandown station I believe 👍. What I have heard is that slow films don't lose the speed like fast films that lose more speed when is expired. Make a vídeo with that beautiful Fed 2, probably the price will skyrocket and I don't have one, but I can't buy more cameras 😂. Cheers mate
