I was next to my schools piccolo player in marching band last season, and she had to play the high G (4 ledger lines above the staff) for 2 or 4 beats, but our director told her to play louder. She proceeded to turn to me and laugh

Thanks for answering! My question was piccolo vs trumpet. While I have yet to sit beside piccolo (I play clarinet so...) I HAVE sat in front of trumpets and not only did it hurt, but it also made me question why I even bothered to play at all! So yeah, piccolo for me as well. 😅

Had to laugh at the image of you playing that pink flute with an orchestra 😂😂😂. But I suppose that is the lesser of those two evils!

Wow, so many Flight of the Bumblebee comments! For the sitting beside someone playing the Piccolo or Trumpet, I'd definitely choose piccolo as I was at a Jazz concert and was close to the trumpet player, he was loud. It didn't help the concert was in a smallish church and the reverb made it louder.

My band director places us (bass clarinets) directly behind the piccolo and directly in front of the first 2 trumpets. Really hard to balance to that

yeah i played piccolo (and other wind instruments) in a pit orchestra with trumpet directly behind me--i felt so bad for the poor girl next to me lol but my ears hurt too

A bumblebee is very monotone aswell, seems like a daft title, should be called flight of the feather, then you could change tune or pitches depending on the feather.

The question at 2:10 is literally me. I could play any instrument [even after not playing it for one year] I pick up again well. I haven’t played clarinet since grade five [I’m in grade seven now] and I played Pandora with not many struggles. High notes are apparently hard on clarinet but I didn’t have many problems, just playing quietly. In grade five, we could choose between Flute, Clarinet, Trombone, and Trumpet and I played all of them well within a few tries. Even when I first picked up a Tenor in my whole life, I played it easily...

Just watching this with a friend who is no musician, it's funny 😁

Good job with translating Katie! I also would rather have a teacher who doesn’t play well but is a great teacher. Fact: I have both kinds of teachers but I have also had the rare kind who are great teachers and great musicians

11:58 I'm seriously going to do both in the future. I'm majoring in oboe performance, but I want to to continue playing saxophone. So after I graduate from college (maybe before too if I have the time), I want to start doing saxophone music videos and kind of like teaching.

You should try with a Habanero. I did that with my archery students and it was a riot. LOL. We trained for all bad situations for upcoming competitions. The REALLY had to focus to not just fool around, but the all shot amazingly. :-D

Katie help me PLEASE!!! I didn't put my flute away and I picked it up today and played. It was fine then I looked at it and it was bent. I tried to play it again and it just sounded off. Then ik this was probs not the thing to do but I pushed it to try and straighten it. Then it sounded terrible. My mum had a go at me. What do I do????? Please help me. I don't have the money to spend on getting a new one and I don't think I can afford fixing it either. Please help 😭

I had some fun times in marching band, and a lot of my wind playing friends from Juilliard did marching band in high school :) I just like the concert band rep much better and I hate playing outdoors in extreme temperatures lol
