+tam45760 Mrs Bucket was a pale cartoon imitation of the classy Margot Leadbetter. I like the episode where Margot goes down to the Council offices to pay her taxes but with each portion conditional upon the relative state of the services rendered by the council for street lighting, bin collections, etc.

+Julia Pigworthy I think Margot has Mrs. Bucket's snobbery, with the addition of her own right-wing political bent to everything.

The comedy of Hyacinth was that she was an imposter she thought she was middle class, Margo just was that haughty....however she lived in a semi 😆

Great writers, great cast, still worth a watch. And Felicity Kendal was my crush once puberty had hit: impossibly cute back then.

Would people discribe this comedy as comedy meant for the upper classes? Because it seems like that to me. It might not be like. And, is the man, not Jerry the other one, is he the guy who was Fiver off of Watership Down?

  • @timorgano

I would not describe it that way. Just because it's not "modern" comedy that just references sex and swears every other word, doesn't make it upper classes. This is good, wholesome comedy, that actually takes effort to do. Not dumbed down like today's sitcoms
