This scene really struck me when I was rewatching the movie, the fact that she throws the ugly carrot away (more like pushes it away from Rhodes) and then Rhodes still picks it back up is such a powerful foreshadowing of how she sabotages herself and her relationships as an outcast (an ugly carrot) and how Rhodes refuses to give up on her. A very beautiful movie with so many subtleties.
It’s really cute that he has to pick up the carrot because it’s bothering him. I’d probably do the same…
UGH Rhodes character in this film is MY TYPE OF GUY !!! He literally reminds me of my fiance
