If we are being honest, the warriors didn’t make the playoffs because they were missing green for nearly half the season. Once he was back and integrated back into the lineup, they were one of the upper quarter of teams in the league. We know of course Green missing that time was mostly his own fault. (He missed all of training camp, preseason and the first few games of the season due to injury so that isn’t his fault, but the two suspensions clearly were). Upside for them was that green being out allowed them to develop and get reps for Kuminga, Pordzinski and Jackson-Davis. Assuming Green doesn’t miss almost half a season again due to suspension and is there, adding someone like George would definitely help their chances. That being said, it’s probably safer to assume green won’t get suspended for half the season than it would be that George won’t miss considerable time to injury which has seem to be a trend the last several seasons.

HE's still very good but perhaps a slight home town discount would be in order. Or, at the very least, he shouldn't be insulted if they expect him to do that due to crazy tax implications. Not a slight discount. He is realistically worth close to a vet minimum if we have any intention of competing for a championship. He was unplayable at times this year, countless errors and inefficient, 0-10, etc. really hurt the team especially with the shitty attitude. If it's about money for Klay, go see what you can get from Orlando. We need to fill our roster with actually helpful young players, who are athletic and can play defense, play team basketball and have a good attitude. Right now solid role players like KCP, Malik Monk, Bruce Brown are easily more valuable than Klay and look what they're getting paid.

Bringing back Klay Thompson stabilizes things, to allow for the transaction that we already made to carry things forward, which is mainly our young guys stepping up. Payton and Looney are largely taking a back seat. TJD will play however many minutes at C for us as he can; hopefully he can be effective for 25 minutes a night. Podziemski is now the 3rd Guard for the Warriors; hopefully he can be effective for 20 minutes a night. Kuminga is the downhill bullet that we've been missing; hopefully the off-season work gets him more comfortable at the 3, but the expectation is that he plays 25-30 minutes a night. Moody is now the glue guy, playing 2/3/maybe some 4, but mixing and matching throughout. 15 Steph plays 35, Wiggins and Draymond play 30, Klay plays 25-30 minutes a night. Still some time left to be covered (maybe Looney finds his form again, maybe we get a new Big). If the young guys step up, they're additive to a Play-in team that had Draymond for 20 less games than they should. We have Draymond for the full season, and we're out of the Play-in; we start the full season with what we figured out late, and the team wins 55 games. Will be a rebound year for the West and all that, so maybe that projected 55 win team, only actually wins 50; it's still a team that clears the Play-in, without really knowing what Moody contributes (Kuminga stuck, Podziemski showed early, TJD showed late)

Warriors dynasty is done. Mediocre heading toward bad. George would be a major mistake. Kerr's 6' 5" and under league mentality is not working anymore. The best move for the Warriors is to offer that max money to Hartenstein instead of George.

Mad Dog: "I made a commitment to this franchise. I owe it to this franchise to stay here!" 1) Your commitment ends when your contract ends. You are free to sign wherever. The players don’t owe the league anything. It’s all about what’s best for you and your family. If another platform offered you 20 million dollars a year to help them get off the ground you would leave espn this very second, in the middle of the show, because that’s what’s best for you and you’re family.

PG13 provides wing defense. Plus 3 level scoring. He’s ok with being 2nd option. No ego what more do you want if ur the warriors. As far as culture and history of course you want klay but In terms of winning, Paul George is the move. In Klays case I’d give him til all star break but shooting 0- for whatever in his last game doesn’t help his case.

Most importantly he’s always hurt and sitting out games. Like at this point why offer him high contracts? He’s better of coming out of the bench or could be a great 3rd back up pg.
