GREAT sound and a fine rendition. Lots of good music on Diamond Discs. It's a shame so many collectors turn their back on them.

I like that it is a very finite hobby...instead of one kazillion 78s and brands that stretch on and on, we have a pretty much 17 year span where an inventor issued proprietary discs on a system only designed for that purpose, with a technology under patent to the inventor and record producer. that producer, stone deaf producing a wide variety of records of varying taste.. all running at 80 rpm (except for a few long playing discs ahead of their time.).It is a wonderful and special collection.

John Carpenter Mr Carpenter I agree! Unbelievable sound and someGreat Records are available on Edison! I have and am Particularly fond of Persian Rug by I believe the McAlpineers, and Down South by the Great B.A. Rolfe AHO. I have about 18 electrical Diamond Discs and about 300 acoustic DD’s. They are a real source of joy in my retirement and Ill health.

Do you know if the California Ramblers / Golden Gate Orch. were the first Califormia group to record, biengs they're on Edison records

To my knowledge, the group was named for a Long Island roadhouse where they had an early gig.

Out of curiosity...would this record be NM or VG+? I don't think I have heard a cleaner side, and I sure do not have one.

There are many hours of work in manual de-clicking, the playing surface has been gently de-crackled and the sound equalized. I am going to post shortly another Ramblers EDD for your enjoyment.

Sounds great even though it's acoustic.Too bad Edison waited so long to switch to electric.I just posted a video response by the "Buffalodians"

doesent sound like the ramblers so i guess its the golden gate?
