Would I recommend Beard Octane or Dr. Nick’s Amazing Man Stuff? Find out.

Doctor Nick’s is one of my most used companies and Beard Octane has a good oil that works well. But like you said, what works well for one person may not work for another. Everyone’s beard is different. Great perspective, and you’re 100% right 🤘

Having to reapply multiple times isn’t something I want to do. I have many other products that I don’t have to do that with. So, it’s just not worth it for me. Now if they came out with a thicker blend I would revisit them. Thanks for watching!

Excellent video Nick! Soooo true... to each his own. Some prefer a thin oil, some prefer the thick style (Artius Man, example) but with so many companies out there... everyone should be able to find what works for their beard! Keep up the good work bro!

Interesting topic Nick, well done! I've tried a ton of companies and their different blends. I'm pretty fortunate in that I've yet to experience a small batch beard company blend that was a hard no for me. There are some that I may like more or less than others, but they all do want I want them to do. I've never had the unfortunate experience of my beard feeling crunchy or worse than it would be without oil. Quite often, I choose the oil based on the scent profile that strikes my mood, because I know my beard will feel softer and look better, regardless of what oil I select. I rotate my oil daily, and enjoy the whole spectrum of thin to thick viscosity. Both Beard Octane and Dr. Nick's work great for me, and I would recommend them. In some ways, I wish I was more picky. If only one brand worked for me, I'd buy much fewer products! 😂 I think regardless of one's personal factors and preferences, there's a blend out there for everyone. Like you said, do your research and see what works best for you, because that might be different than what works for the next guy. Great job with a tough topic, Nick!

Well said! I think people need to consider nutrition, water intake, and environment. Just because I had to reapply these oils multiple times in the day does not mean I wish any ill will towards the companies. I have a few oils that work a lot better than others, but you’re right, most small batch companies are high quality! Thanks for watching and thank you even more for your perspective and insight.

The beard world has come to use about the same blends an all are working hard at the game, i have found a few companies that just don't work for me, it maybe great for you an that's what makes our job hard. I really like Beard Octane products, especially their LCW daily wash. On the other hand, Dr. Nick's just didn't do it for me. I'm not saying Dr. Nick's is a bad company, it just didn't do it for my beard, and I wasn't really crazy about any of the scents either. Plenty of guys rave about their products. Both companies have their faithful customers who swear by their products. My personal favorite company is Live Bearded, yet I hear many people think that they're just OK or not that good at all. I like what I like, and I don't like what I don't like.

Exactly! We all just need to find what we like and that can definitely be a process. I don’t think either of these companies are bad, I just don’t care for their oils. I used to use the LCW until I tried the Copper John’s daily conditioning wash. That quickly became my favorite wash and the Zeroed In from EDC is right behind that one.

definitely interesting how different preferences can be. perhaps length can be a big part of it, as i believe thinner oil may be better for a longer beard. Dr nicks IPA is probably my favorite oil so far on my beard journey. beard octane is also one of my top 5 go to brands. on the flip side, i see mass love for fable when i have many full bottles i purchased to sample and haven't touched the bottles i have past the first use. for fable, i think it's a combo of thickness and really not being into the scents at all so far. i definitely see better results and enjoy the scents more with dr nicks and beard octane. dr nicks butter is one of my top choices for night time nourishment. Dr Nicks wash and conditioner is in my regular rotation, and i use the bar soap from beard octane regularly. i do plan to try dr nicks body wash on my next order as well. beard octane has incredible variety of products and great packaging. Dr nicks i also feel is a top option for anyone needing to avoid skin irritation. customer service for both have been top notch as well.

The longer my beard was the worse I felt it worked. When I trimmed down to stubble it wasn’t as bad. I’m just not a fan of these two thin oils. Having to reapply a few times throughout the day is not something I want to do, but if they work for other people that’s awesome. I don’t hate the companies, I’ve had good interactions with them. I really like the look of beard octane. The oils just are not for me.
