Just tried this on my 3.5 - 4 month beard, not done much for me unfortunately like other guys on here. I have salt and pepper beard, quite corse despite using dedicated beard shampoo/ conditioner, beard balm, beard oil, boar bristle brush etc. Must just be unlucky. Will try the coconut method again though in few weeks 👍

Could one do the same thing using their preferred beard balm or oil in place of the coconut oil? Do kids ever say "It's Santa!" when they see you! I guess it could happen to most guys if they have whitened hair. "Always (whiskers) out! Cold air makes them grow" - Miracle on 34th Street.

I have been using coconut oil for many years but never quite the way you say here but I believe it will work. I went to a barber just a couple of days ago and had my beard trimmed for the first time professionally and he commented on how healthy my beard was. I'm going to do this procedure now, thank you so much.

Wow im so glad i found you. I've done the coconut oil thing twice already and cant wait for the next session..Because of you i wont shave my beard like i always do after 9 months to a year. Ever since i was a kid i wanted a zz top beard like yours and i get frustrated. Mine is kind of a slow grower but i can grow a full beard non the less. For some reason my chin grows slower than the rest. But im watching all your videos and think you're great. Thanks for all the tips and if you ever want to get rid of the old oil bottles and Baum cans im your man.lol i just like to collect things and ive found some awesome wood beard combs i love so thats my new thing to collect. Rocky mountain barber company has some awesome very well made combs. Thanks again for everything .

Interesting tip. Have I got a knee slapper for you, when I was first growing a beard at age 19, I didn't have any other oil accessible and so I went for the coconut oil. I melted it down and rubbed it into the beard, felt and looked great. Then I went outside (thinking it was a good idea) suddenly on the tram I give myself scratch (itch) ...and the coconut oil had solidified... doh! haha! And so there was a blizzard coming out of my beard. Obviously had to catch the tram home and quickly rinse it out and style again before meeting my date xD

Hello again. Thank you for the reply. I need some advice again with your expertise please. I am headed to the beard championships in richmond va this year and i need some grooming advice. I really need my beard to be at its fullest potential. My beard is about 10 inches, but i notice a lot of my underbeard seems to curl up back towards my neck which i think takes away a bit of its density at the bottom. I want the bottom to be more full and i just wonder how to permanently train the hair underneath to hang straight instead of curling back up towards my neck. Thank you again.

I've started growing my beard again and it's got to a decent length now, but whenever I use beard shampoo and conditioner, it makes my beard go out of control. No idea if it's just me, but doing this makes it look worse than just leaving it and just applying oil/balm after drying it. Therefore, I've had to stop such a routine.

LOL, the Darwin Award!! That was excellent! Definitely had me rolling.. More of these subtle liners in your videos would be great :) On a more relative note, yesterday I doused my just medium beard with coconut oil and combed it for maybe an hour. I'm fresh off the boat to actually working towards vigilant care for my beard (about a week and a half). I think I'm fairly lucky with my beard genes, some s curls and more loose Q's in my sideburns and jaw line are what I see as my main problem. Your videos have already given me good insight. Thank you! I haven't been able to find a video on youtube that definitively answers the question of how often is it safe and productive to comb and brush your beard. Can one come as much as they please? Can one comb dry with large toothed woman's hair brush or large tooth combs? Also, was it a mistake to leave coconut oil in my beard for a long period of time? I rinsed it only, after about three hours in my beard. Still haven't washed it yet with Bronners (will buy another soap soon).I'll definitely use the conditioning method you explained in this vid next :) I'm hoping this comment isn't too incredibly long for an answer.. (My first comment ever on youtube!) My main question here is the combing/brushing rules I haven't found a thorough answer to what they are just mixed tidbits. P.S Also have been enjoying your motivational talks, I like your presence!
