BX 2380 owner here. The only issue I had was the leaking hydraulic connections you've mentioned. I called Kubota and they came out two days later and fixed the issue for free!

Only problem I've had so far (40 hours) is the Boom/Dipperstick Fulcrum pin froze up and sheared the retention bolt. Found the fulcrum pin was so tight in the bore, it wouldn't pass grease to the bushings. Always grease at 10 hours and though all points looked good, this pin seemed to stay clean, although it felt like grease was going in. Dealer looked at me funny like I never greased it, although you can tell from the other 80 plus points, there is plenty of greasing going on. I may change my servicing dealer as I received the tractor and after an assured full dealer prep, with zero coolant in the header tank, an obvious miss. Luckily we have two dealer groups in the local area. Keep up the good work Lucas, you are our Kubota Pioneer!

Just goes to show that there is no perfect tractor. Kubota has its problems too. Most tractors no matter what their color are usually built good. I had a JD for years and love it even though it didn't work well all the time. A good dealer is often the best thing to watch for. Love your honesty. Keep up the great videos. I'm in process of buying a new tractor, going to the process of elimination, JD& NH is out of choices, Price and quality. Now between Kubota BX23Sor B 2601 & MF 1725M. Tractor, backhoe, mower and with third function lines. MF dealer is close to me, but price is not that good, Kubota is 1.2 hour way, near dealer not giving me same deal as the outstation dealer( Kubota) My worry is, how the K dealer near me will take care of the tractor, If I have issues under warranty. Tractor dealer is not like car dealers, they're very sensitive!😂

⁠I purchased a brand new Bobcat tractor in the fall of 2022. Already had a John Deere and the Kubota I had in mind cost a whole lot more money. So far love the Bobcat.

I have two BX TLBs. I bought them used for about half new retail. One had a metal body and 1360 hours and was a rental from Home Depot. I used the hell out of it for several years and only had to replace one easy hydraulic hose. The tie rod boots were torn up and the the whole ball/socket was flopping around. Several years later, it still is :) The other has mystery hours and plastic body parts and had been kept together with field repairs over the years. I was able to straighten out most of the hack work by myself. The loader lift ram needed a seal and I was lucky that it was an easy one to get to. I didn't replace all the seals like I should have. Just enough to get it to operate. The steering ram was failing also. I used it for a couple years before I finally replaced it. I had a piece of linkage come loose on one of the controls. The jam nut fell off and soon after the other nut fell off. It was an odd size or thread pitch but True Value had one. I run both of them hard and I'd buy both of them again. I have fantasies of owning a new one but I don't really need one. I have two properties 100 miles apart and I hate towing anything on the interstate so I keep one at the winter desert place and one at the summer mountain place. Life is good :)

You work it hard but take care of it at the same time... This is my first tractor (BX23s) other than a lawn tractor, and I don't think I could go without one again. I have saved thousands with it so far and I believe it will have paid for itself in another 2 years... You do a good job explaining stuff Lucas. Have a great week.

I got my BX just over a year ago. I have completed a lot of clearing, and worked it hard than I should have. The only thing I can say has gone wrong, that was not part of overworking it, my brakes have failed. No, I don't ride the brakes or left it in parting lock. I think something has come unconnected! I need to check it. Great tractor.

They do need tightened regularly. You might start there. It is pretty simple.

Have 70 hours on my BX 2380 and love it. Had a hydraulic leak due to being installed improperly. All good there. I have no clue why it took me till I was 60 to get a tractor. The point that the size is a factor I agree completely with you more advantages with small over a lager tractor. Funny thing about the throttle, the same thing happened on mine and the dealer I took it to for the 50 hour corrected it. LOVE my tractor.

1800 hours here, replaced the HST fan because of the first owner got a stick in there. skid plate on it now. ZERO issues. If I had to say what the Achilles heel is on this machine it is the diff lock. Make it a rare occurrence to use it, and try and keep the front wheels straight when using it.

Agreed. I’m at 460 hrs on my 2380 and it’s been a tank for our 60 acres. It’s undersized at times, but for the money you won’t find anything that works harder-including Green. I also have a long list of completed projects that it’s helped me with..too long to list here! God Bless!

Absolutely loved watching this, and all your videos, on the BX23S. Considering everything you've done with your machine it definitely has paid off and then some. My reasons for buying my BX23S was similar but I don't have the acreage like you have. At .7 acre, I'm sure most people would say I should have just bought a zero turn mower, and then occasionally rent a excavator from Home Depot to do the digging/moving projects. Well, my BX23S is the same as its the most expensive machine I've ever bought. My 1997 Ford F150 I bought used back in 2003 for $10,500. I still have it and love that too, but I can't mow the lawn with it. I bought a Troybilt Bronco riding mower when I bought my house in 2016 for $1099. Now they sell the same machine for $2299. My neighbor pays to cut his .7 acre at $200 a month for 10 months in the year. Yes, $2000 a year. So my riding mower paid for itself in the first year. I bought the BX23S used in March of 2022 for $18,500 with 190 hours. I figure in 9 years, just using it to cut my grass will pay for itself, and all the lifting, digging, moving things, and excavating are all freebies. I'd like to see a video with a cost analysis of your acreage in seeing how long your BX23S would pay for itself. Keep up the excellent videos!!!

I have to add to all that the reason I bought my Kubota over continuing to use my Troybilt is that the Troybilt cuts my yard in about an hour if the grass is dry. Wet in about an hour an a half. I usually make a half bite cut so it doesn't clog with the wet grass. The Kubota can do it in 25 minutes regardless if it's dry or completely wet or 8 inches tall the weeks that i couldn't get to it. The time savings was amazing. Obviously going from a 42" cut to a 60" cut will definitely save you time. I'm going to bring the Troybilt to my moms house, 100" x 100" to cut her grass instead of my Toro 22" recycler lawnmower that I have to walk behind.

Looks like auto rack and pinion inner rubber bellows(gaiters)or small motorcycle fork boots would fix your tie rod ends. Good luck 👍

If you have any type of property , a tractor is a tool you can`t be without. I remember when the BX series came out and everyone was waiting major failures but seems like they are holding up. Cool shirt !

BX 1850 14 years 1100 hrs. Front axle pin and bushings replaced for leaking when tightening no longer worked. After market tierod end boots, power steering actuator rebuilt because it would wonder from side to side, and fwd rev tie rod end by transmission just wore out. I would buy it Agin for sure. I agree dealer makes all the difference.

I’ve got 600 hours on mine in 2.5 years and it gets washed and waxed more than any vehicle I have ever owned. 😁😂😂

I debated whether or not to get my BX (23s) for a couple of years before I finally decided that I was old enough for my "wants" to outweigh my "needs" (as I knew them at the time). Now I know what I was missing all that time lol After waiting 5 months, mine was finally delivered August 2021, and it now has nearly 200 hours on it. Out the door, with SSQA, R4s (I wanted R14s, but the dealer said it'd delay the delivery by a month or more), a 48" box blade, and no mower deck, mine ran me $27k. I'm probably jinxing myself by saying this -- The only real problem I've had with mine so far is the rear cover plate (the one the PTO sticks out of) started leaking out of the blue one day. It was a slow leak, so I just kept it topped off until I did my next maintenance (which I did it at 100 hours), then I popped the cover off, cleaned it up, and put new RTV on there. Not a problem since (knock on wood). Would I buy another one? Without hesitation!

Leaking? I didn’t even know that was possible. I have had to tighten it, but that’s regular maintenance. No leaking though.

My 2680 did the same thing. 2 “o” rings, $5 at Kubota. Took about 30 minutes to change. Easy fix 😁

When I got my farm 8 years ago it included a bx2660. I thought I would sell the toy and buy something real. Still have it and love the little girl. Great having you and your family as neighbors.

I totally agree with everything you’ve said about the BX23s. Did you get the hydraulic boost you were looking for with shims? I think I need a little more power on mine also just for the lift capacity on backhoe. Great video!

If it’s still under warranty YOU DO NOT WANT TO PUT SHIMS IN! My local dealer warned me when I bought my 2680. Warranty would be void if they find evidence you did that.

@@tiredofit9112 My dealer is awol any way and I am now getting parts from Messicks in Pennsylvania. I order and receive them in less than 5 days. I see very little downside risk.

190 hrs on mine only problem so far is had a crack in fuel tank started leaking around 25 hrs fixed under warranty and the foot peddle linkage keeps coming loose and tractor want go very fast, its above the hydraulic filter and cant get it tight enough to stay without removing filter so going to put lock tight on it at next service.

Does th warranty cover the transportation to the dealer and back to the owners adress?

Do you wish you had something bigger, like B series? I am torn with B series vs BX. I have a lot of land to take care of, but a lot of slopes and hills and I like the lower center of gravity of the BX.

I do. Not always. And sometimes the small size is handy, but I do think some of my issues are because I’m pushing it to the limit. If money were no object, I’d probably get something else to mow with and then a B or even an L of similar horsepower.

Wheel spacers are the best money I’ve spent on my BX!!!!!!

My only regret about my 30hp Kubota and my 70hp Kubota is that instead of buying the 70hp I wish I would have bought a mini excavator instead. Haven’t had any problems with either one. Seem like the smaller tractors have more issues.

Yeah, I think the majority of those issues are from overworking them because they are smaller. It’s a solid machine.

I'm selling my truck to help pay for my BX2380. I'm retired and put less than a thousand miles on it last year. I still have a utility trailer I can pull with the wife's SUV.

Most of the time it’s way too small for your needs and it happens to often

I’ve had my 2680 for 2 1/2 years put 600 hours on it around the house. Never had to take it to the dealer for repairs! Picking up a new 23s tomorrow, need a hoe on the back😂. Kubota gets 5⭐️’s from me!!!
