My children and I used to find tons of clear quartz crystals back behind where we lived in Reno Nv. We would bring their radio flyer wagon & fill it up with huge pieces. Its all houses there now. Glad we were able to get some before they dug the area up

I agree with @idontno0. Crystals are not simple. For example, if you are unaware that onyx when a certain amount of pressure is applied to it, it produces energy. I understand what you are saying, though, but mere looks are not an absolute scale for simplicity if that is your basis. Otherwise, crystals are still quite a mystery as to their full potential. Crystal is known to be able to store information as well as vast amounts of it at that, as well as many crystals are being used in some watches to help power them. It is believed to have many uses in occult beliefs as well, ranging from magic abilities and protection from different energies, etc. The ancient egyptians, among many other ancient civilizations, made claims to their abilities that seem downright magical in some cases. Clay itself is made of microscopic crystal discs stacked on top of each other, that break apart and make new ones from that breaking. Mother crystals forming daughter crystals. They basically replicate themselves. It's truly amazing stuff. Anyways, sorry for the long-winded typing, but hopefully, that was insightful for you or someone else.

He mined for stones like that. I had one side of it polished by a jewer so I could see the star in the center when light hit it. Some punk that I knew stole it. I am an Engineer teaching science and maths at middle school level. I changed nature with God whenever nature I say God did this because I was confused during my childhood how anything so perfect can make itself by itself without anyone else help... And now I found teaching alot easier because children get the concept quite easily by mare changing words.

I can see that you're mocking them but quartz crystals actually form like that naturally; basically every crystal can form in these "unnatural" shapes, that's what makes them a crystal. The salt you use in the kitchen is shaped like microscopic pyramids.

I'm always amazed at how the crystals have such sharp straight edges.

I watched one video recently where one particularly clever person stated 'riiiiight, I didn't just cover my already carved crystals in mud for views............) 🤡. They were so confident in their wrongness, luckily for them there were lots of people who were keen to educate the wee poppet.

I guess that you've never experienced finding gem quality minerals and gemstones in nature. I have, and there's a BIG difference between finding "a rock" vs finding gem flint agate, Druzy quartz, Herkimer diamonds and Flint Ridge gem flint which are all stunning and beautiful semi-precious gemstones. I have found "rocks" that I was paid $400 for because they are what they are. Gem quality material as well as ancient fossils and artifacts. Ignorance prevents us from seeing beauty.

I used to have a rock collection…..don’t know where that ran off to, I think someone stole it? But anyway I never got any gems like this one, but maybe a crystalized rock here and there that looked pretty similar🤧

I always thought real crystals grew in very hot humid dark caves like "The Crystal Cave" that was found where the geologists/scientists had to wear specialized full body suits, head gear and oxygen and could only be in the caves for no more than 30 minutes.
