Hey there,
In this video I take a look at the Worx Chainsaw. I purchased the WORX Chainsaw from Amazon for around $200. The package included the chainsaw, blade cover, 2 20 V batteries and a dual battery charger. You need to use both batteries at once in order for this to work. With both batteries this is a 40V chainsaw. Let's see how this works.

    Hey Jeff! You don’t need the sawing motion with a chainsaw. That increases your chance of a an unfortunate outcome. You can rock the saw if needed, but hold the saw still and let it do the work.

    I've cut down 9-10 inch diameter trees with one of these, no problem. Had similar issues with the chain slipping when it catches on small, green branches, but only occasional. Perfect for yard work if you're not planning on cutting down anything big.

    This little saw is able to cut things BIGGER than it's bar length. It just takes know how and a lot more time than it would with a bigger saw.

    When cutting small brush; the chain needs to be tighter than what you would normally use for cutting 1" and up branches.

    Good review Jeff. Useful to me as I am considering one of these machines. I have 8 other "power share" Worx machines and I find it the best purchases of electric tools ever! I work on boats a lot and then it is super useful.....not the chainsaw maybe. Very happy with this power share system. I nearly went for Bosch 18v, but Worx has just more useful machines (to me).

    I don't have any WORX tools; but they have been around for a comparatively long time. They must be doing something right! If I wasn't already heavily invested in EGO and Greenworks tools; I would strongly consider trying out the WORX platform. It looks like a lot of fun.

    The issue of the chain jumping off seems to be related to the saw cutting on the upper side of the bar e.g. when undercutting, or when cutting lots of small branches as shown here.. and this is probably related to the convenient hand-tightening system instead of the screwing system which is normally used for fuel-driven saws. The tension of the chain on the bar of such systems is secured not only by bolts that secure the bar on the outside of the saw, but also by the tensioning system, which employs a metal rod in a hole in the bar. This convenient chain tensioning system however seems to be only secured by the tension on bar from the outside of the saw, and that is most probably why the chain loosens and jumps off - dangerously..

    just bought this and the chain falls off immediately/constantly when I try to saw up some branches. So i want to learn more about it since it's probably operator error.

    I find that I have to keep the chain tight, also small branches need to be supported so they don't move back and forth. Hope this helps. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

    I have a saw that does that. The problem was with the electronics inside the battery. Look for a different maker who has the same type connections/grooves. That's what I did; and my saw is now a beast!

    Did you grease the end of the bar

  • @John-cj3ve

    @John-cj3ve

    2 күн бұрын

    I didn't look that closely; but there very probably IS a tiny hole near the bearing center on the bar. It takes an inexpensive; (around ten dollars), prefilled grease gun for that very application. Just about all the manufacturers don't stress the importance of this adequately in their respective instructions.
