The bigger hopper also has a steeper approach angle into the burrs and helps stop some beans from getting stuck in the older version. Was an issue with darker roasts.

They both look really nice. The white seems a little more sleek, but I have noticed some scratches from taking it apart so much. But most people probably aren’t constantly removing the burrs for videos!

I bought the white one yesterday on launch day, can't wait! But it also depends on your decor style. I've picked my other coffee equipment to be white and stainless steel (white porcelain v60, white porcelain origami dripper, white yeti cup, white fellow bean storage, etc)

Yea there's a note in the video that I kept saying WDT but meant RDT.

The difference is black and white. Seriously, one thing you can see when they are side by side is that day Gen 2's retention bin is maybe a few millimeters wider, which is probably why it feels heavier.

literally has new burrs that go 300 microns finer, steeper angles on hopper to prevent stalling, ionizer for static issues, better lid for receiving cup etc. but sure color is the only difference lol

@@prodemile I knew about most of those changes also, but of course white is a new color. I think they still didn't make the hopper steep enough, because once or twice when I first got the Gen 2, beans were still getting stuck, but more troublesome was that my unit would shut off while it was still grinding about 75% of the time, leaving maybe a tablespoon of beans left unground. I didn't like having to turn it on again to finish, as it is promoted as a single dose grinder with an auto shut off, so I returned it. I don't know if was a faulty sensor or what, but others on Reddit have reported the same issue, and some I Have reported that it keeps running too long.

I feel like if someone is going to upgrade from Fellow Ode gen1, then the upgrade path is Niche Zero, DF64 or something like that. If Fellow would offer discount for sending back old Ode, then that would be a nice thing to consider, otherwise upgrading from Ode to Ode is not worth it.

Except you can’t grind a litres worth of coffee in either of those in one go. Are there really that many single coffee drinker households in the world. Honestly not sure why they simply couldn’t at a meager 10-20grams worth of capacity. 🤷‍♂️

I hadn't heard of this company until a few days ago but I've seen a bunch of these videos and I can't help but notice that in every single one the creator got the grinder from Fellows for free. I don't really have a problem with that on the level of any one creator but after seeing about a dozen of them it seems really fishy. It's pretty and the anti-static function is neat but in aggregate these videos have convinced me to get a Baratza.

can you stop flipping those papers its 2022. lets grow up a bit
