Worth the hype? The true experience of walking this legendary path: el Caminito del Rey, Spain.
What lay here before was without doubt one of the most dangerous and terrifying walks anywhere in the world. That path still exists and you'll be walking right over the top of it, but does the new, secure path wash away all the fear from the original? Or does it still have some heart-stopping moments up its sleeve? Join us on our first visit to el Caminito del Rey for a look at a very famous 7km walk...
Hi, I’m Steve, a travel reviewer from Scotland. Join me on my adventures as I discover my own country, often visiting places for the first time, so hopefully it's as much of an eye-opener for you as it is for me! Don't expect expert opinion, just a very honest journey of discovery. Sometimes featuring my intrepid sidekick Alicja, sometimes featuring adventures beyond the borders of Scotland. Enjoy!

Gracias x vuestra visita ✌🏻
I've always been awed by the sheer magnitude of the engineering that went into the original construction of that entire complex. Just the idea that someone would envision a sidewalk along the sides of a gorge hundreds of feet up the sides... And to think of the men who built those pathways and stairs gives me butterflies in my stomach.
Absolutely amazing, well done you two, thankyou for taking us on your journey
Steve you wouldn't go up in an elevator to a secure platform up on the bridge but you did this! Your quest for great content has no fear!

@@alicja4139- They really worked on the safety of this path. I saw much earlier recordings of the path [below] and it had major gaps in the path and areas where you really had to hold onto chains and old structure to get through. It was more of an urban exploration path with few on it with no trespassing signs discouraging access and only thrill seekers on hiking attempts. So glad I've gotten caught up on your videos finally. Three weeks of chaos , hurricane, clean up, two weddings, one in Winnipeg , Manitoba and now we're in New Brunswick looking after our son's cats for a week. Your videos always bring sanity back to us. That was quite the walk. Can't imagine how scary that was in person and then having to video it. Bravo! Thanks for taking us on these adventures to places we'll probably never make it to.

Your video brought back memories - my late wife and I used to visit here every year on our holidays in Andalucia some 20 years ago. We used to watch (from the safety of the roadway on the opposite side of the gorge!) walkers on the old path. No handrails in those days! Thanks very much for showing how it is nowadays. Great video, beautiful sharp photography, and nice presentation by you two. Keep up the good work!

Hi Steve. Wow. You brought back so many memories of a visit my wife and I made to El Chorru in 2000 and our failed attempt to walk the El Caminito Del Rey. We followed other along a trail from El Churro which took us ALONG the railway track featured at the end of your video. We popped out of the tunnel and walked over the railway bridge. The Camanito was on our left. Our hearts sank 😮 My wife said NO BLOODY CHANCE. It looked a death trap as we watched others begin the tortured walk. That year 3 people died. As you said, No chance. Your video showed me what we had gladly missed. Thank you. Now I need to get into my loft for my holiday pictures.👍😎
So beautiful. Well done!

Hi Steve. Thankyou both for showing us this canyon. Personally I commend you both on being brave enough to tackle this. I was in awe of it's beauty. I cannot imagine the engineering to build the infrastructure, let alone the skill of the workers, not only building the original path, but the new, safer one. I think the wind was caused by the turbulence of the water falling so fast. I mentioned this video to my husband, it turns out in 1972, as a teenager, he did the walk with his parents and brothers ! So he is now gonna watch it too, as I doubt either of us will ever get there to do it in person !😂

What a marvellous video. I would’ve loved to have done this walk, but at 93 I won’t make it now! Thanks so much for taking me along. Sure beats weather in B.C.
Great video Steve! I took the slow direct train from Malaga to Seville which goes via that gorge a few years ago, before they put the new path. Even from the train the views are scary in places, and you get a great view of the path too. There was still lots of people on the path, but in many places there was sections removed , so people were jumping from one to the next, and virtually no handrails either. There are some videos showing how the old path was - it's truly terrifying.
