Worse things to do after a workout part 2
1. Rewarding yourself with junk food. The increased hunger after a workout and the addictiveness of junk food can easily cause you to overeat and negate all the calories you just burned. Ideally, you want to plan out your post workout meal.
2. Not drinking enough water. Your body loses a lot of water through sweat, causing muscle cells to shrink. Dehydrated muscle cells are associated with protein breakdown, while hydrated cells are associated with protein synthesis. Therefore, you want to make sure you drink enough water.

    Was about to write the exact same thing lol. If your doing cardio and burn 500 then instantly eat the 500 back that’s pretty dumb if it’s over your deficit for the day but when bulking this advice is dog shit. Get the calories in and enjoy your life

    The amount that I sweat is legendary. Being a mailman made me extremely anal about constantly drinking water through all seasons. My co-workers drink soda instead and don't understand why they have diabetes and feel like shit.

    @@RICHFRVR it's different for each individual bro. Some guys have to bulk harder to put on size. I've had this curse my whole life. I can appreciate that 15% or so of men are gifted and don't require extreme surplus to gain lots of size, but that's not most of us.

    @@toothclon no one said anything about not getting good nutrition. The point was that junk food doesn't matter unless you want to look extremely cut, and it doesn't. And contrary to popular belief (not that you said it), dirty bulking IS the most efficient way for hard gainers to put on serious mass quickly.

    Try to eat something small with junk food or healthy food so u wouldn’t gain a lot then calories back u will gain a lot of calories back if u eat something big from healthy food or junk food

    Very true. I’ve been eating the same way and working out my whole life and I’ve maintained even after 3 kids. There are some things I just don’t eat because my stomach is sensitive/no gall bladder since 15yrs old; ( greasy, too fatty, pasta , pizza ) But I will eat the hell out of some banana pudding ( lactose milk) and Butterfinger.. lol

    I couldn't do this. My metabolism is too fast 😂 For me, breakfast every day is 3-4 cups of Greek yogurt with blueberries and granola. Lunch is 2 chicken thighs, potatoes, and a type of veggie. Post workout is a protein shake. Then dinner is the same type and amount of food as lunch. Sprinkled throughout the day might be cashews or protein bars

    @@user-go5hv6dg3d actually, eating less meals is healthier and you can still pack in what you want for a whole day in two meals. Yes, it'll be less calories (for maintenance) and yes, less meals means less times your insulin spikes to put on weight, but less time digesting for your body means more energy, more time for your body to recover and heal, and you normally have the energy stores regardless to do a workout. There was an NFL player that did OMAD, and slept like 4 hours a day because he had too much energy. I went from eating 3-4 meals a day with snacks to 2 meals a day and I can't do more. I literally just stopped doing it one day and now it's so much easier to think about 2 big meals, once sometime after I get up, and the 2nd one in the evening after I've done my activity for the day (workout, basketball, generally something to put a sweat on, I do all my activity outside in the heat). I'll throw in snacks from time to time and occasionally I'll eat a little more and sometimes a little less, but only worrying about 2 meals is much less stressful. I actually feel like I don't have time if I think about having a meal between the two.

    I usually drink alot of water through out the day untill i piss water, literally. Once i do i know im hydrated enuff to hit the gym but dont drink any water during the workout. I dont like feeling full during the workout so agter im sone ill drink my protein shake and then drink water after.

    If any of you people know what overnight protein oats are, you don’t have to worry about post workout hunger. It’s porridge oats, a small portion of yogurt, protein powder, and milk (preferably almond). You mix these ingredients together, then leave the meal in the fridge overnight. It’s a good meal to have after a workout, given that it’s rich in protein, fibre and calcium. The way I make it tastes delicious so it’s way better then junk food after a workout.

    I don’t exactly remember what causes it, use Google. But when I started running more it started hurting. It Disappeared after more weeks of running. Also try drinking more water. A little before your run, if it's a longer run, then even thru it, but generally after the run, take a good 'sip' of water. Tip: Don't drink ice cold water, the room temperature is the best

    Your stomach might be very full, so it would hurt to do running. Try eating less before your cardio workout, or delay the workout an hour or two if you had a big meal

    Have a protein rich meal ready with some carbs, then hit a protein shake if you need it later. Or just limit how much junk food you buy. I literally only buy like one bag of chips once in a while, when it's done and gone I can't binge after a WO. I'm forced to eat the meal I had ready.

    I love to eat Melons like Cantaloupe Post or even pre-workout, Felt great when I was in cross country and track, helps with my workouts too. Just don’t eat too much before your workout… trust me

    I usually like to have a tomato and chicken sandwich with a side of grapes or an apple, it's filling enough to where I'm not hungry, but not extremely sweet or high in fats.

    If your bulking you want them calories. And also gaining fat and gaining muscle can happen simultaneously as they are 2 independent processes

    make sure for the first one you clarify that it's for WEIGHT *LOSS*, people trying to grain weight will absolutely love the extra calories if you're on a stricter diet like I am however, I probably would go for fruit or something. I'm not a very big fan of junk food.
