The track workers should have removed those white hubs because they are a flipping hazard like you just saw he would have slided safely into the mud but went into the hub which caused the flip.

Dom956 wrong, i have been involved in all type of motorsports from carting up to professional level. the guy in the red shirt could have and should have gone in to help. 1st of all it was a child. the only thing he could not do is offer any type of medical assistance but he most certianly could have helped get the cart off the kid. so according to your logic if there had been a fire involved the guy in the red shirt should have stood there a let the kid burn up? c'mon man...use your head. the guy in the red shirt was a douche for not helping. but i bet he had no problems selling his pictures for $$

if u dont know what ur doing best to stay clear and do nothing......... dont want kid with spinal injurys cause dont know how remove driver or the staff putting out 2 people instead of one cause cart caught on fire and dont forget shock......... poor guy was probably having some pstd after standing close to the wreck XD XD XD XD

Buck Rid Did 3.5 seasons mainly at turn 1 for Club and Arrive and Drive racing. Lap 1 was never boring and remember every single incident. Have even flown a kart myself.

I guess he should have tried to catch the gokart in mid spin, thrown himself underneath the crashing car, that is going what 60-70 miles an hour ???? So Betty what was the photographer supposed to do in this instance, set his two thousand dollar camera down in the dirt and run to help a child he could do nothing to help, why because he is not a paramedic, that's the two guys who run up seconds after the crash. In fact I am quite sure the photographer would have been instructed to NOT HELP, too stay the fuck out of the way in the case of a crash so that emergency services, what little there was, can do their job unimpeded(Google it dumbfuck), that's probably why he has that 'I don't know what the fuck I should be doing right now' look on his face .

Hello Everyone. This called racing. Do not blame the markers. Racing has it's risk. People are hurt or killed in racing. The so called idiot with the camera is there to take pictures and may not be authorized to be on the track, so do not jump the gun in your conclusions about him. Once again stuff happens in racing and and sad to say,people Will get hurt and or killed.

Still the track should take better precautions of a flip like that, like having an ambulance first hand in the middle of the track, so i blame the track but, yes stuff does happen in racing.

I bet this kid went on to never cut people off again

Brave little kart racer! It is interesting for us, in the UK, to see how things are done in the US. Particularly the care of the officials correctly immobilizing the neck - and the speed of the para-medics in attending at the circuit!

Same thing happened to me when I raced kart I hit the plates and rolled mine but I had miggit wing cart so I had a gage it’s scary my belts beat the hell out of my neck just thx full I was okay and am happy to see the boys okay

great response by the officials and everyone involved, but why are there not paramedics already trackside and ambulances closer to the track in case of incidents, this is mandatory in british msa motorsport. Good to see you were ok and back racing the next week all the best

Possible that he can't touch any karts. If he was to touch a kart, he is then liable for anything that might happen to the kid. It's all about insurance.

Happy 😄 to see you made it out okay and to be able to race again. That was probably nothing compared to dodging tornadoes on a daily basis. 👍

First and foremost glad you are OK and got back out there!! I am sure this was posted before but: Why wasn't the EMT on site in a UTV ready to go at ALL times. 1 minutes passes before he shows. Time is critical. Why wasn't an ambulance on site, most if not all sanctioning bodies require it. Almost 5 minutes before rolling onto site. I have worked events that had to stop because an ALS ambulance had to leave the site because of injured driver,(btw I was a 1st responder at that time and working on race team not the track and arrived at scene with in 20 seconds from 50 yards away over 2 fences and grabbing my bag and I am not an athlete, victim had 2nd/3rd degree burns) The photographer should have gotten out of there if he is not helping, post a picture of my kid's accident and you sat there, @&#% need I say more Yeah there is more I could say about how it was responded to by the corner workers but off my soap box. Could all accidents be handled better? Yes!! We learn from the errors and mistakes we make, and get better. Training is key, Go Fast!! Have FUN!!!

Way back in the day when we raced without bodies, I can remember hooking a guy's wheel and flipping end over end 3 times. I remember my two older brothers caring me off the track. My kart was destroyed. It bent both the rear axle and frame. I recall convincing my older brother to let me borrow his kart for the feature. I started dead last and captured the feature. My brothers had to help me both into the kart, and life me out after the race. He then took me to the local hospital and I discovered I had 5 broken ribs, but if you love racing as I have, ( I have been involved in racing over50 yrs.) you know it is worth it.

Connor Allen He takes one picture of the crash and then stands there mouth breathing in the way of the video. That guy just spent 3500 on a camera and lens, doesn't make him a photographer. I do agree that he doesnt need to help as he is not part of the safety crew.

The photographers aren't suppose to do anything or else he'd be in the way. There's a procedure and the track workers are following it. "Unless you're a parent or worker, stay off the track..."

To all the fools in the comments, I spent years at this track, there are officials designated to helping drivers in the event of a crash like this. The photographer was not one of them and did nothing wrong.

Tyler Nelson you live and learn and rookie mistake is right way to put it, it does happen unfortunatey sometimes when it does in racing someone gets hurts but it isn't on purpose and you learn from it. The tracks we run here in North East Florida use tires inside track not the yellow concrete circles as in this track here. Im still a rookie just started last year only had one major accident thank god and I was the only one involved well me and a wall LOL and I was hurt but back in another kart the next week as you were. You can't make everyone happy there are those that will hate on you so try not to let it get to you. You'll especially have haters if your a female driver such as my daughter and I are ust let it roll off your back. Just glad your alright and no one else was hurt and that yes you learned from it

I had a bad one myself back in "72"screwed up both knees and torn rotator cuff. I'm really paying residual for it today. We didn't have any para-medics back then but there was always an ambulance on hand.

Oooooo! Common mistake we see in motor sports. Kid thought he could squeeze to the inside. Unfortunately didn't fully clear the kid that was already on the inside & he got tagged to the point where he lost control of the car as the result.

I’ve seen worse. When i was at a track there was a 2-stroke kart that flipped over in a race. It tore off his skin, it was about an 1 inch wide, and it dug in about 1 inch in his leg. And thy had 2 Ambulances.

foxkart61 then he would have had a great time getting sued for breach of contract. you know that waver they make you sign? yea. it's a contract. he was following the rules of the track. the safety and medical personnel responded quickly and efficiently. the camera guy would have just gotten in the way.

This is a PERFECT example to why all go karts should have roll cages, to protect the driver.

It depends because that roll cage will also increase the kart’s center of gravity making it easier to roll over in the first place.

Back when I race go carts ( 10 years ago ) I always wondered what would happen if you hit the white markers...

I don't kmow... I race at Penn's Creek Raceway Pennsylvania. My very first race in the heat race...I ended up on the corner four wall... a tire went under my car and I was TOTALLY sideways! it was insane :o

Once when i was racing with my friend on a track like this we where going around a corner and he drifted in front of me and i hit him in the side and i drove over him and his car went on its side then flipped mine over then his was on his side. We somehow walked away laughing

For all of the people wondering why these don't have a roll cage, its because they're "flat" karts, not designed to have them, and they typically don't have seat belts either so if something like this were to happen, the driver could roll out of the kart to somewhat safety. (Not really sure what happened here though) Now there are karts that are designed with roll cages such as champ karts, like the ones I race. The drivers have to recognize the danger that comes with driving these or else they wouldn't do it, simple as that.

Meanwhile the guy standing in a position to get some really good video and pictures, just stands there......
