as a canadian we never expected to win that game but the ref let this happen so many times and missed so many of our own calls that it was painful to watch. the worst was getting a yellow for a bluetooth tackle on de paul and then davies gets taken out of the entire match and its not even a foul.

You started the video saying that a win is a win. De Paul played really good game and also manage to piss of the entire Canada team, kudos to him. If your simulation manage to get the other player a yellow card then you will have an advantage for the rest of the game, doesnt matter if you are winning or not. The ref is the one that should control the game and punish him for diving. I am not sure why you pick on him alone when strikers dive inside the box all the time or when players simulate an injury to waste time.

Take a look at the simulation in the 93rd minute that gave Columbia a free kick against Uruguay. Gets grabbed on the arm and then decides to jump to the ground after. Going down easy from contact happens every game. You could probably find one instance of it in every game from the Copas and Euros, just so happens this one is De Paul, who is despised by many fans.

Crazy how despite having the best talent and the best teams of the continents, Europe has by far the most boring Int'l tournament to watch. All teams play so cagey (outside of Germany v Spain), that unless theres a massive difference in class, the referee decides every match. Meanwhile AFCON, Copa America, and even Asia Cup is straight chaos and fun in comparison

De Paul actually had a very good game, got the assist for the first goal with a perfect long pass to Julián Álvarez and was the engine of the midfield for the whole match. And he also flopped, which he always does. Imagine what he's like when he has a bad game😅

And it worked, and we laugh as someone used to this BS. Also, De Paul played a fantastic match despite this situation, let's not hide that. But this happen everywhere and is just stupid officiating, 'cause somehow they stopped booking flops.

Of course it's part of the game. But refs should take note of this. He's a known serial flopper. He should not get the benefit of the doubt anymore. I dont understanf how this guy isint on the "watch list" already like players like Leão. If I am a ref I dont accept this on my pitch because you ultimatly try to make me look stupid.

This year was my first time following the Copa and I was astonished to see all the fabrication. I had thought that went out of fashion about a decade ago. Ive been telling people "it's not that bad anymore." My lesson learned. The officiating was so brutal it just encourages that kind of thing.
