Well the judge was a bit harsh on the three girls when some constuctive sdvice may have been appreciated. However those girls could not sing - well in that style as it was awful!

Audience would say YES to pretty much any performance they see, no matter how trashy! :) That's why there is a jury. Only Simon seem to be courageous enough to to say No when No is needed.

I loved the reindeer tap dancer he was so bad I nearly split my sides laughing. He was very entertaining.

Judge Gary took psychologically disturbed Michael the right way. Got his jacket, thanked him for coming and helped him get off the stage voluntarily. Man, you need a lot of skills in showbiz. Even pretend to be a nurse to the mentally unstable. And although this sounds silly perhaps, I do applaud Gary for handling it so graciously. Let's hope Michael's psychiatrist will take over from here on!

People like you make me laugh, you hold someone up on a pedestal; He is no different than anyone else, He is just like you and me, he eats, and drinks and defecates just like everyone else. What difference would it make to your life if you met him? He meets people like you every day of his life, wanting to kiss his boots and think he is amazing, You could meet him today and tomorrow he wouldn't even remember you. Simon Cowel is a great business man and successful and good on him for that and what he has achieved, but would I love to meet him? Why would I? I'm sure he would have no interest in meeting me and I don't blame him for that; we would have nothing in common, I'm not in his business and he isn't in mine so what would we talk about or should I just tell him how amazing he is? I don't know the man, he may be the nicest person in the world but to idolise someone just because they have been successful in what they do is a waste of time and I, for one, have better things to do with my life.

They put them through on purpose for the "entertainment " of a confrontation. Then the producers tell them that if they kick up a fuss, they might get through. It's for the cheap entertainment.

I am actually travelling the world to catch Ashwins every tour date. We call ourselves "the Ashtrays" and it can get a bit nutty when we come to town.

I think if she went away and worked on her sining and image, came back more prepared, she would have a better result. She seemed to have a lot of natural talent but it needed honing. It might have given her more confidence as well and helped her get further.

A public knows who they find entertaining. They don't always know who is actually best qualified to run a country. You're comparing a simple audition to years long campaigning/indoctrination and lies/propaganda and also overlook that for the government the US at least only has 2 real choices. You know Mason did have a point. When they air the show, there's not enough time to show all of the auditions that make it to the next round and/or the proportion of time viewed by the public isn't the same amount of time for each candidate. This gives an unfair advantage to some of the approved candidates vs showing each candidate's audition, that makes it to the next level, being viewed in the show and online in equal time. I understand that they can't show every audition due to lack of tv show time, but it does mean that some contestants get a chance of being loved before the show actually begins. in comparison to the other singers.

People were excited. This is the moment when you should be quiet and take victory, no matter what happened before. You can always argue with those responsible afterwards when the cameras are off or just accept things as they are while things are still going well for you. They knew he was so good that you didn't have to give him much time to convince. He just didn't understand it.

Visual artists like me see color and value and composition, etc. We can paint the full picture. My family can't see it, but they can feel when something is off. When I listen to someone like Kelly Northall, I can hear some of the elements, but then I hear something off. I don't understand music, but even I can hear. She sings better than I ever could but something is off.
