    I would appreciate a deep dive on Gt-1000 Core. It deserves a run through by a person that actually uses it in a worship context. It is also healthy for the market & for the players to have options for their context & needs.

    Haha complete nonsense 🤣 can't believe I left that part in the video honestly lol glad you enjoyed the video tho! Yeah, the Zoia and PBC are two pedals that I could talk about for hours and not even scratch the surface of what they're capable of, so I'll definitely be doing a dedicated video for each of them. Empress makes some great stuff, and the zoia is unlike any other pedal currently! I love their stuff and wish I could've fit even more of it on this board. Maybe you'll see some other stuff on my next board!

    I really appreciated watching your video! I have been a Boss GT user for the past 4yrs, using it for worship and it was real refreshing to see someone else using it at the the same level. It would be real interesting to see which AMPS you use, which Cabs you are using and what does your signal chain look like. I agree a deep dive into how you use the Boss GT core would be greatly appreciated. Keep rocking for the Lord brother!

    Bro. Great video!!! First of all. Appreciate the effort. Now that video of that boss gt 1000 especially for worship with mini boards would be amazing. I was thinking of buying one then just add a agfi skylar and a golden boy jackson audio. And im set. Whats your opinion? Is the reverb lacking compared to hx stomps?

  • @JonHoltMusic

    @JonHoltMusic

    2 ай бұрын

    Yeah, I'll definitely do a deeper dive on the Boss GT pedal! It's got some interesting quirks, but I really like it overall. It's definitely a modeling pedal first with the effects being the bonus aspect of the pedal. I haven't messed around with the reverb on it too much yet, but it has everything their RV500 would have. I've always felt like Boss reverbs are more accurate simulations of real reverbs and less artificial "ethereal" types, with the exception being their shimmer verb. But my go-to reverb was a plate reverb from the RV500 for years, and the GT1000 Core has that in there too, so it's definitely not lacking. The Skylar has the same verbs that I use in the Specular Tempus, so if you like my reverb tones, you'll love the Skylar. GFI definitely gets more into that ethereal realm of reverbs for sure. I think the biggest weakness of the Boss over the HX Stomp is the UI. The HX stomp makes it super easy to edit FX and presets on the pedal. Boss is a bit more menu scrolling and finicky, but that type of stuff doesn't bother me much, so for me it's worth it. But for some people the simple UI on the HX Stomp is a huge selling point.

  • @Benson.BereTV

    @Benson.BereTV

    2 ай бұрын

    @@JonHoltMusic yes. I have HX stomp in asia. But now in Germany and serving church. The price difference between core and hx stomp brandnew is 200 euros. Lol. I def agree. If i get pass through the editing stuffs! Im excited to get this combo man with skylar. Looking forward to your videos with GT1000. subscribing! And killer tones as always!

    You gotta explain the signal routing WITHIN the Boss GT1k. Are you running the Zoia and Tempus into the front in stereo?

  • @JonHoltMusic

    @JonHoltMusic

    Ай бұрын

    I'll definitely show an in-depth look into that in its own video, but I run stereo into the GT-1000Core, and I can switch wether or not I want my wet FX before or after the GTK with the Mastermind switcher. But TYPICALLY I run my wet FX stereo into the front of the GTK. It sounds more "live" that way. Running them after the amp sounds more "studio", so it just depends on what I'm going for.

    Hey!! Awesome board! Which compressor are you using from the Bloom? Do you change by song/preset or use always the same?

  • @JonHoltMusic

    @JonHoltMusic

    2 ай бұрын

    I switch presets with midi commands between songs/sections depending on what I need, but I usually find myself choosing the green (country) mode or the white (limiter) if I need some super compressed, but it just depends. The different modes had different attack times, so I’ll change depending on how much squash I want to hear up front.

    I’ve been thinking hard about ditching my DD500 and El Capistan and getting a GT1000 core to replace those and add modulation. You are pretty much the first worship guitarist I’ve seen using it, and it gives me confidence. Not sure about your thoughts on the rest of the tones in the Gt1000?

    Im going to do a full breakdown of this pedal soon! But yeah, the amps are great and it definitely does have all the legacy boss fx as well. I think it’s an amazing pedal that just has some software issues and pains. But if you have the patience to figure out the software, then you’ll love it!

    Yeah! The hub is being powered by the usb c port from my engine room power supply. I just got a cheap Sabrent hub off of Amazon and everything worked great. It’s low profile enough to fit underneath some of the cable runs for my midi box.

    Just found your channel. Worship guitarist and new subscriber here! I dig the setup! Could you do a deep dive into the Boss GT1000 Core for worship? I have a Boss IR 200 on my physical pedalboard, and I have a Helix Floor. I find that the AC-30 on the IR200 makes my sound 👌👌. I also get the feel thing being a tube amp guy myself. I’ve been switching between a few different profiles on it over the last year or two, but only certain ones have the AIRD algorithm, and I find that those have the best feel. That’s wild! Definitely a lucky find! As far as I’m aware, the only morning glory batch with that design and was publicly sold online was the V3. Any V4s out there are most likely individually made to order for special requests, so that’s sick that you found it in a GC somewhere! Turns out my friend’s that I mentioned is a v4 too! He said he got it custom ordered as well.

    Boss makes a 3.5 trs to 5pin midi cable

  • @JonHoltMusic

    @JonHoltMusic

    2 ай бұрын

    Yeah! There’s a lot of places that you can buy them, and I’ve heard good things about the boss one! I just really wanted cables that were the exact length that I needed for my board and it was easier to make my own with some spare parts laying around than it was to spend more money on prebuilt cables. But if building cables isn’t your thing, there’s a bunch of great options out there. My issue was more so that there’s way too many types of midi with no standard (some pedals receive signal from the tip channel, some receive from the ring channel, etc). And when pedals all have different standards and connection types it makes pairing other pedals together a big problem that you need to figure out yourself.
