I'm glad I found this comment, so I don't have to break this video down much. The hypocrisy and bullshit is just getting to toxic levels these days. I loved Chael changing over to commentating and giving the fans a voice from someone that was on the inside of the industry and all the wisdom that came with it. There's been some tongue in cheek moments, some jokes, but deep down, he was communicating true insight into the fight game in a way that we really didn't get before, but these days, it's like he's leaned so far into the side of bullshit that he's moving from telling the jokes and providing the humor to becoming the joke at times and that sucks to see. You're a legend man. Stay true to that. Or, as you seem to think it is the most important to Jon, at least my comment is another grain of sand towards engagement for your channel. WHatever amount of money that gets you.

I was a huge fan of bones- a fellow Rochesteriian who got his mma start in a gym in Cortland, Ny where I spent a lot of time with family and fishing brookies. But the failed steroid tests made me rethink his greatness. And now, everybody is talking about his unstoppability at heavyweight because he outwrestled a guy in Gane, who Nghannou outwrestled after blowing out his knee a few minutes earlier. Also, Bones is trying to pump up his heavyweight resume by proclaiming " I'm going to beat the heavyweight GOAT and retire" (presumably as the new heavyweight GOAT). Problem is Stipe is no longer relevant- he's passed 40 yrs old some time ago, he's past his prime, he's a full time firefighter, and seemingly uninterested in fighting, though he's trying to convince us and himself that he still is. Bones, if you want to be the greatest of all time, you have to beat Pavlovich and Aspinall- these are the two undisputed killers in the division. Idiot mma reporters make it sound like Aspinall got TKO'd by Blaydes and also suffered a knee injury-WRONG- his knee blew out and he fell to the canvas in obvious pain- the ref and Blaydes should have backed off- was a big fan of Blaydes before that.

I don't think the empty seats are because people have gone off him. I think the problem is there's no genuine competition for him. Nobody wants to pay big ticket prices to see Jon tie some poor bloke in a knot that has no hope of getting their arm raised. Adesanya is the only one on the roster with a skillset that could be interesting. If jj stayed at light hw for a few years I think issy could have crept up the weights to make it happen. The Francis fight will never happen now so were left with Aspinall and Sergei as the two best opponents for Jon before he retires and he will retire after 2 or 3 more fights. Aspinall to me has a chance because hes big and quick plus hes a highly experienced former amateur boxer whos also had numerous professional boxing matches and was ranked in the British top 15. He's also been doing BJJ since he was a kid with his dad whos a black belt and runs his own gym. I dont think Jon can out strike Aspinall on the feet and he cant just take him down and submit me with ease either. Its a dangerous match up!
