I started brewing AACT in 2011, self taught microscopy, I stopped 3yrs ago because extracts are so much easier, nothing can go wrong. I stopped using an air pump to do the extractions this yr, now I use a paint stirring bit on a drill, 60 seconds and it's done, add foods, apply. I tested the air extraction (6 port pump) Vs paint stirrer under the scope (Johnson-Su compost) I had to dilute the paint stirrer mix 7:1 to get the same numbers as the air extraction, no microbes were harmed in the making of this post :)

Idk what your opinion on the microbes is, but I find AACT to be too random and a bit limited in the types of microbes that can multiply inside the tea. Stopped using them and went for extracts too

@@santiagolizarraga1190 that's a fair assessment. Extract has a much higher diversity, look at the vermimicrobiomeproject there's a post with the picture of Troy Hinke on the front page (the vermicompost tea guy from Rodale) they did DNA tests on the tea Vs the Extract with Troys tea, the results speak for themselves, brewing teas reduces diversity by multiple oders of magnitude. Also most people stopped adding molasis like 10 yrs ago because it goes anaerobic as the microbes breed so fast they use up all the O2, even in farm scale commercial brewers. I only add humic acid, kelp, and rocksalt to my extracts.

One addition I add to my preferment is humic acid to help neutralize any contaminants in water (esp chorine or more likely, chloramino compounds in city water). It also helps feed beneficial organisms (particularly fungi) and assists in nutrient uptake. I think I see an improvement in results over the past year, but because it is so easy and a small supply lasts a whole season, I haven’t bothered to do a control group. A tiny amount, enough to make a tea colored solution is all you need and I was told you need to add it before any of the other additives when making compost tea. The hydroponic people use it but I haven’t any experience with hydro.

Please make the the video on how you made the garbage can tea brewer. By watching your videos the seedling I have given away this year everybody says they are so healthy and huge out growing everything else they bought or grew themselves these methods work great.

@@davidisaacson9328 without any doubt you've been wasting the tea!!... over the years I've found 4-5x dilution actually gives better results than strait up tea

I also add insect frass after 12 hours. This should help making the plants resilient against bugs. Last time I kept it 2 months with air on 24/7, and added LAB and Molasses every now and then I didn't get any bad smell, but have no idea if the quality was degraded. I should add the room temp is 30-40C. Cheers

Easy to follow and great content. Thank you! Have you ever put the undiluted compost tea in a hose end sprayer to cover large areas faster! I am looking to only treat my lawn with organic products.
