Worlds First Pikes Peak 4WD FC RX7 20B

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

We dug up some old footage to bring you this raw experience of the ex-Rod Millen 4WD FC RX7 Pikes Peak Rally Car. At 600hp and 800kgs, this thing can move!
Now in the hands of Grant Munro from Rotorsport Racing, the car has undergone a complete restoration after it's time with RE Amemiya in Japan.

The 20b and 26b engines have got to be the most powerful engines in existence, powerful enough to bring a tear to a grown man's eye.

That's not the power making your eyes water that's the excessive amount of fuel in the air... 👍😆😂

This is great! FC's have grown on me massively in the last few years really starting to regret passing up the opportunity to purchase a nice two owner stock red series 4 (with obligatory s5 taillights) for 12k around '00. Shoulda coulda woulda. Have not heard the Millen name for a while but use to see it quite regularly in a the Hot 4's and HPI' magazines I used to collect here in Oz. Anyway thanks for posting, feel free to make a few more vids on this one mate.

I’m so embarrassed to admit that I hated rotaries back when I started modding/racing cars. I need to borrow a DeLorean and go have a frank discussion with my younger self. This RX-7 sounds absolutely perfect.

Wow this video deserves more views and likes, first of all that car is a total BEAST. I own an 88' FC with an 94' 13B is kinda half way and I kinda gave up on it. But this video showed me the potential it can have. Thanks man!

@@Meowface. Long story short i contacted him we set up a plan gave him a downpayment to get started, received a call every few days or so where he upselled on extra things like water jacket mod, 3mm ceramic apex seals, light/balance rotors, extrude and hone upper and lower intake.. got receipts was gave pictures of certain things that could have been from any project.. after all was said and done about 10k and when i picked it up was misfiring on the top end he drove me in it initially and would keep it floored through the misfires sounded like we were making popcorn under the hood he shrugged it off and claimed it had to break in engine put miles on it and the issue would go away.. my first rotary i was a bit naive but took his word for it.. about 500 miles later lost compression on rear rotor.. took it toRaphael at 3face Racing where he pulled it open IN FRONT OF ME to find that almost none of what i paid for was there.. except for the 3mm apex seals.. which were shattered and fragments embedded everywhere and also took out the gt35r.. made a post to rx7club where two of his buds decided to make it seem as if i was somehow at fault or wasnt being honest.. If it wasnt for Raph at 3face the car would have been a total loss.. he streetported a fresh 13b rew, slapped another gt35r on tuned it to 12 psi made 420ish and i had a blast no problems for 20k miles before i sold it..

This has no center diff, it is locked betwrrn front and rear. So it is not always 50/50 split but onfinitely variable (100/0 to 0/100) ignoring the mechanical losses and depending on where the grip is.
