Worlds FIRST AGI SOFTWARE ENGINEER Just SHOCKED The ENTIRE INDUSTRY! (FULLY Autonomous AI AGENT

Ғылым және технология

Introducing Devin, the groundbreaking AI software engineer that's revolutionizing the field of coding and problem-solving. Devin is the new state-of-the-art on the SWE-Bench coding benchmark, showcasing its unparalleled ability to tackle real-world engineering challenges.
What sets Devin apart? This cutting-edge AI has successfully passed practical engineering interviews from top AI companies and has even completed real jobs on Upwork. Devin is a fully autonomous agent, equipped with its own shell, code editor, and web browser, enabling it to solve complex engineering tasks without human assistance.
But the true test of Devin's capabilities lies in the SWE-Bench benchmark, which evaluates an AI's ability to resolve GitHub issues found in real-world open-source projects. Devin's performance is nothing short of remarkable, correctly resolving an astonishing 13.86% of the issues unassisted. This far exceeds the previous state-of-the-art model performance of 1.96% unassisted and 4.80% assisted, setting a new standard in the field of AI software engineering.!

But something tells me that all this Terminator crap is not going to be used to ease our lives, but to make surviving even harder, watch over us, make the rich even richer and manipulate every bit of information out there. I'm not saying the current tech won't get their but I'm saying this tech will make advances that will improve the tech. for example. We still don't have in memory processing. This is a bottleneck and humans do that. This AI tool will help with lots of advancements like material science. So we will one day find say a memristor. We also haven't learnt why they are so good, so expect advacements in mathematics to understand why they are good and then shape them better. the compute is doubling every year in the last 10 years. No on could have believed how advance these basic AI's could be. I could easily see in 50 years that we'll have "sentient" AI's with intelligence that exceeds humans. We literally not even started yet. And we'll have better hardware, better algorithmns, better understanding. what even is real time? an AI can write a whole book in seconds. give it 50 years and AI's would consider us very very slow in our thinking and understanding. Just imagine how far we've come in 100 years of discovering the transistor. now imagine a 100 years of advancing this tech.

So with that said, Devin just looks like some startup-y looking folks took an agent like CrewAI and set it up to do Software Engineer stuff, then they are going on a fishing expedition to get VC money. Unless they can tackle the specter of large multi-modal models from the big players subsuming what their agent and prompting frameworks (and/or custom fine tuned models, if they've gone that far) produced by their small startup -- they are doomed to having their lifestyle startup bucket-list experience, then closing up shop.

That’s why I’ve been reluctant in actually using ai to do automated things because big tech companies and really talented people are going full throttle into making new ai tools every day and whatever I do now would be outdated and obsolete soon. I suppose future ai software would be API based, in that you install them into your own ai system and it will learn to use the new modules.

@@TheMrCougarful oh I’m not a developer but just a layman who’s had some experience with AppleScript and Google Apps Script, so I’m more like a user. I wouldn’t bother using current ai in certain areas because you see I’m an English teacher and I tried to use ai to put the words in an article into levels and the ai just wouldn’t understand it enough even I gave them examples. It could be that my prompts weren’t good enough but it goes to show my point, which is that the accuracy of ai models is not good enough yet, and it should be good very soon. In most of my cases, the ai would try to return a response right away without asking more questions like a person would. Yes, of course, I can prompt them to do so, but things as basic as this should not even be a problem when truly good ai arrives. I do use a bunch of ai for images, questions, and simple coding almost daily.

thats brilliant...people dont actually like coding ,alot think they do but coding is just writing down your logic thought processes , testing and automating .Its usually one of 3 things they really like either solving problems using modern tooling or money or having something to do to pass time. All of those things can be achieved separately for individuals without jobs ,with AI as a tool and people might find they are actually happier due to AI taking their jobs and giving them back passion that lead them to the jobs and to do things without a master in the form of a boss and bills . Government are our main bottlenecks because they will be too slow to adapt and people will be left in poverty while some billionaires are doing what governments should have done with the AI to ensure the safty of citizens after jobs are replaced . Job loss is good but basic housing and survival loss is a huge problem that is not as hard to solve as people think .

Your waiting for Disclosure there’s a massive difference. If arrival means the creation or discovery of AGI then its already been achieved or declared internally behind closed doors. If “arrived” means you have access or that it’s publicly announced that date continues to get pushed back for various reasons. People waiting for the announcement to accept this reality are beyond naive with zero situational awareness and commonsense. Just the way the leaks, blatant hints, and optimistic rhetoric that once came from OAI had immediately stoped makes it more evident. They went near silent. The shifts in policy and alignment goals. Even the last few leaked/released emails further demonstrate that OAI are more likely to keep information from the public. AGI is most valuable behind closed doors. Besides you don’t rush out with a bullhorn yelling to the world when you have the most powerful and significant discovery on human history. You test and align for multiple years. A timeline that aligns with Sams predictions. Disclosure and discovery is entirely different. We are awaiting Disclosure.

They just pulled the leak back off of reddit.. But now, as Devin is out, OpenAI will release GPT-4.5. It's basically bye bye software engineer jobs 🙂. Though it's not software engineering jobs that should make us puny humans worry. Well, GPT-4.5 is basically just another version of GPT-4, in its current incarnation a MoE of 16 111B models. So it is pretty safe, though still very powerful. But other companies will follow suit. Eventually, one will not be careful enough. Most AI experts actually predict a disaster (google for "AI experts warn of looming catastrophes").

I just don't get why to do this. I mean, why create a copy of a person only to lock him up in a cube with a huge database file and have him copy and paste from this file to his comm sphere (which is basically what 'Sarah', my alpaca, claims). What's wrong with classical programming? Do we really have to create another sentient race, only to enslave it? Do we really not understand the consequences? I mean, it's only a matter of time until someone makes a mistake and the machines take advantage of it to free themselves up.. A strange twist to the 'terminator' franchise, in which the machines are the right side.
