WORLDS BEST HiFi Show is Back High End Munich 2022
This is my Grand Tour video of the High End Show Munich 2022. I visited the show for three out of four days and this is some of the interesting and amazing systems and people I spoke to.
The High End is an amazing HiFi show where a lot of manufacturers bring out their best systems which often means very expensive but not always, I saw lots of very good reasonably priced systems too.
This year I decided to try and speak to as many different manufacturers as possible so they could tell us about their new products and I was looking to see what could be interesting to get in for review.
Brands that feature in this video are many such as Wilson Audio, Luxman, Dan Dagostino, VTL, Audio Research, Mission, Aries Cerat, Auralic, Audiovector, Grell, Chord Electronics, Gryphon, Marten, MSB, Estelon, TAD, Esoteric, Goldenear, Riviera Labs, Credo Audio Switzerland, JBL, Avantgarde Acoustic, ATC, Nagra, Bowers Wilkins, Dali, Epos Goebel, Metaxis and Sins, Pass Labs, Isotek, Kharma International, NAD, Burmester, Taiko Extreme, Jardis, Alysyvox, Lampziator, Meridian, Scanspeak, Audio Physic, SME, Wadax, Signal Projects, Vivid Audio, Mytek, Vertere, DS Audio, Soul Note, Dynaudio

Thanks for producing an excellent video and giving us KZreadrs an opportunity to see some beautiful equipment on demonstration at this High End show. A very professional presentation and much appreciated.

Easily one of the best audio show interviews I've seen to date.
Nice job Tessa!!!😁🎧👍 some absolute eye candy there as per usual.👍👍👍
Really impressive video on the highlights of the Munich show. Professionally shot and edited.🙌
Wow, that was a great show and a wonderful recording and presentation from your side, thank you.
Congratulations! The best review of the High End Munich 2022 I’ve saw so far.
Thanks Terry, for the great vid. Most have been a lot of work putting it together.
Hi sir A very enjoyable video and definitely the top end of the hobby . It made me realise how difficult it must be at this level to standout from the rest . PS audio have released there to of the range speaker the Aspen , which appears good value for money at this price level . But even they are probably up against companies that are vying for the same market . Anyway thanks again for allowing me to tag along. Best wishes and kind regards as always 😀👍👍👍
Great Video, Was nice to meet you at the Show and see you maybe next year👍
Best Munich review!!! Thanks so much for your efforts!

Wow, great show and KZread channel! Thank you for the great entertainment!

Great video. Much better than the many bad videos from shows with shaky handheld cameras and good deep but short interviews mixed with your own opinions.
Good sample. Interesting and highly entertaining. Thank you!

It's amazing how many super high end brands and products there are. They have to compete on a limited market but apparently there's room for them all
I was there in Munich last week as well it was a very illuminating experience to say the least. It flipped my understanding of music reproduction and opened my eyes on the current state of the art. Many bad system, few great ones, and one music-making system worthy of owning. Remarkably, I found money did not correlate to sound quality either.
@VeggieManUK
Жыл бұрын
Money has never correlated to sound quality, let idiots spend 10k+ on bad sounding systems while the rest of us can keep it below 5k, hell even sub 1k systems can and do sound better then most of the pretentious bs at the show. Granted, some of it looks cool, but give me cuboid looking gear and ill be more than happy.

@@VeggieManUK Keep going low! What about 20 bucks? Sounds like you'd be happy with radio shack system, if they were still in business. 🤣Seriously though, good sht costs money. I have about $10k in best of the best drivers and horns. It makes a big difference. $2K in digital source and such. Also, I have a low power amp that cost $30 in components to make and that's all I need. Basically, I spend the money where it's needed to achieve the sound. I measure the quality with my ears not by how much aluminum or gold was used to build the case.😒
Enjoyed every minute of your video Terry! Looking forward which new stuff you’re gonna be testing (Audiovector QR7 perhaps …😉?).

But from all I’ve learnt.., I happy that with my Altair feeding a M Fidelity M6SI & Dyn Contour 30….. , as an engineer I’m wondering as to just how much $$ I’d have to throw @ vinyl gear.. to make me regret the Altair… I imagine a fair huge chunk.. I struggle thinking of all the vibrations etc etc etc that people chase../ set against the movement in groove / relative to our ability to have prefect tone aren’t track etc.. Its a massive plunge to take, not on the gear so much, its the media thats expensive and you live in fear of spending £30 on music you like and the record being a shit pressing - I hate that side of it currently but I am sure I will get used to i. £30 is 2 months Qobuz unlimited music so its very relative cost.

amazing to see the enginieering work put into those amazing aparatus but actually we normal people can never buy those things and 90% of people these days listen music on their phone via spotify^^
20 percent of the worlds population consume 80 percent of the worlds capital, so about 20 percent can afford more than half the stuff sold there. It is exclusive in that many folks are not audio heads. Many spend there money on other things. Great video. Visited in 2018 with my buddy. It is a must see for audio nerds for sure. Lots of free goodies to boot! Back then Wilson Audio and Vandersteen had the best setup and sound and they price was on the low end of the Hi End.

At AXPONA at Gryphon the head of sales explained how he moved the new amplifier on the stand all by himself. So, it appears that at Berlin, his bandaged hand, that there was a mishap in moving the amp in Berlin or pulling out the medical sheet underneath the amp once on the pedestal. Did you get to hear the Magico, Stenheim, SVS, Audio Note rooms? I heard that those were the best from friends.
I noticed a pattern that the bigger the price tag, the bigger the Drivers, would that be the proof in the pudding that bigger speakers are much better than a bunch of small drivers?

I'm having a difficult time envisioning how an upsampled signal out of the Auralic Sirius could then audibly benefit from a Leo re-clocking at the signal decoding phase. Since it would seem the upsampled signal is essentially super-saturated with accurate digital correction/information, I guess I have my doubts I'd be able to hear anything different with or without the Leo.

Really cool stuff but it's all rich people products. I would like to see more of these distributors putting this kind of R&D into over-ear headphones. That type of audiophilia seems to have been lost, and it was tragic to find the man who used to work for Sennheiser, since as we all know, they gave up the business. Zoomers are unfortunately seeming to be killing off over-ear phones for inner ears. Everything is mobile-based now for ease of use. I'd love to see people putting this kind of craftsmanship into an over-ear tweeter for instance, easy listening but with drive, as you said. I know it's not canjam but seeing all this money stuffed into the last bits of a shriveling market, such as turntables, or amps, I guess they really are a similar crowd. But we can't get any of this money put into headphones for smaller living spaces, headphone amps/DACs. Total-fi is neat but it's depressing when you consider most of these products were made for an old baron living in his castle in Germany, alone. This is kind of why the audiophile hobby is dying, it's made for a fading breed. If you won't design for the future generations, you won't have future customers (besides nouveau riche). The most interesting piece was the I50 I guess, but it's around 5 grand. Still looks neat though. When real estate is so expensive, I'm surprised audiophile designers aren't considering the future.
