So happy to see you teaching your daughter these home improvement skills. And building her self esteem simultaneously.
Thank you Mimi. Note: stainless steel baby spoons and/or appetizer forks are helpful in removing the marrow from bones.
Made it today. Had tears of happiness. The marrow just fell out of the bone when I picked it up. I quickly scooped it with the ladle and savoured the juicy, soft deliciousness. Mmmmmm. Thank you Mimi, Jen and Kerry for sharing.
That’s what they call a reduction sauce. You’re becoming quite a good chef Kerry! I love marrow!!! 👩🍳 🥩♥️ My father taught me how to eat bone marrow when I was growing up. Thank you for bringing back the important things in life! ☔️ 🚴 🎭 Kerry, you are such a good man. I feel so blessed to know you and your family!
I made this after seeing your video at Mimi's. Delicious! One note is to not add too much salt when you are doing the dry brine in the fridge. Once the both broth reduces in the final step it could easily become too salty. I think maybe Mimi mentioned this as well.
This way of cooking beef shanks is one of my favourites! The “butter broth” gravy is so amazing! I use it as a dipping sauce with my beef patties too. Thanks for sharing this recipe
Great vid. Special thx to Mimi for inspiring Kerry to up his chef skills and for the sauce. Thx everyone for doing this, filming it and sharing it with us.
Thank you!! I watched when Mimi made it....but still was a bit unsure....now I feel ready to try it!!! My shanks are dry brining in the fridge as we speak!!

Update.....they came out absolutely INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!
You are making me hungry - I brought some osso bucco yesterday - thank you for the tips - never aged it before in the fridge. Also reducing down the liquid to make a gravy - fab idea.
Oh my goodness. I have been missing thick gravy since I started Carnivore. Thanks to you and Mimi for giving it back to me.

As an English man, I love gravy (proper beef or chicken gravy) and miss it sorely. Just like you, can't wait to try it!
Omg this was freaking delicious! 😋🥩🥹Thank you Mimi💚💚💚💐
Thanks for the recipe demonstration. I may try it but using crockpot, stove, and/or oven. Also love your teamwork and your kitchen is nice and spacious. I am always wanting more counter space
I went to like this video three times. Loved it!
How long did you cook the beef shanks and what temp? Also how long for bone broth in the Instapot? I want to cook this weekend!! Looks AMAZING!

That was my question as well - thank you!
Great vid Kerry. Say if you roast those bones with some liquid tallow and a little salt for about an hour before using the pressure cooker, you will get a deeper flavor and color to your broth (similar to browning meat before roasting). Also you can thicken gravy etc. with a little bit of bloomed beef gelatin FYI (but butter tastes better).

Yes I roast my bones and bone marrow first with Vinger and salt in the oven.
Awesome, thanks for sharing Kerry
Wow! Thank you for sharing this 🥰🤗
I cooked up some beef cheeks in the instant pot and made some gravy like this. OMG who knew!

I'm still wondering how just Broth & butter got thick?
Great video! Thank you! ❤😊
I love this. I’m definitely making this carnivore gravy 😋 thank you for sharing
Love watching you cook. Yup - it looks just like what you got fed the other day at Mimis !
Loved this video Kerry and Jen and girls!! Thank you! I want to try making the beef shanks! That's a cool e-bike! Your property is beautiful! Kerry that shirt is definitely your color! It makes your blue eyes pop! Take care Mann Family! ❤️ 😊🙏🏼
Thankyou looks good .
I love beef shanks. I just boil the liquid down and do not add anything. It gets beautiful and thick and collagenous . Tastes incredible. If you do not have any bone broth this will work the same. Add butter if you want to.
Holy crap that looks amazing
Great video. I’m cringing that Katie isn’t wearing a helmet though. 😬 Love watching you guys.

Carnivore don’t need helmets
Oh, man, that looks so good.

Outstanding 🎉🎉🎉
I got inspired this morning after watching this, picked up from local supplier , in australia it looked like your beef shank but it was called osso buco, thanks for the inspo 🌻🥩

I am in Australia too. After watching Mimi cook the beef shanks I bought Osso Bucco too after googling to find out that it is the same thing. It was delicious ❤
Looks good 👍
I've never done the bone broth with beef but they say there's alot more flavor if you bake the bones first.
OMG now I'm hungry😂 I am definitely going to have to learn how to make that that looks so good
Here I am still can't breathe from eating my left over tbone for lunch and I started watching this, now I want to eat again...hmmm I need to call wholefoods for osso bucco to make this recipe! Thank you beautiful family for sharing!
I love to make beef broth in the instant pot then can it to save room in my freezer.
Wow that means looks amazing 😋
I have to try this recipe! We have loads of beef shanks in our store right now.
I'm hungary!! Looks delious
Have you seen the rain chains that people have on gutters... You should check them out. :)
Looks DELICIOUS! Now I'll have to go shopping for beef shank. I already make my own bone broth. PS. Love watching you guys go food shopping.
Mmmm that looked so tasty 😋 sounded like the cat wanted in on the beef shanks 😂 was nice to watch you guys work too. Carnivore energy for the win 💪🏻🥩
Jen how's the rebounder, haven't seem any more updates, you give me inspiration ❤
I made these yesterday ,it was good but I’m sure it wasn’t as good as hers .i actually bought more today and have them in my instapot slow cooking .

The preliminary 2 days dry ageing may be the key to the best flavour!
Similar to how I do it except I use my crockpot. This is especially good with venison.
Could you show more on the bone broth. How long did you put the instant pop on. Thank you
I ordered beef shanks to be picked up at Walmart! Got home and they are ox tail! Gonna cook them the same! They have more fat and collagen then beef shanks!
Looks SO delicious ❤
Nice gravy! Hey get some helmets on them kids!😊
Hi Kerry, Do you have the heat on low, medium or high when cooking in the dutch oven and for how long please?🙏🏼
Half a piece of cream cheese sure makes a smoothie gravy.
I'm gonna have to convert this to mp3 and make some sound bites just from that sizzle ❤
There is no butcher shop where I live and I live in Arizona, lots of cattle ranches. I have to drive 3 hours to Phoenix where the butcher shops are.
What size is your Dutch oven?? Couldn’t find the link for it.❤
$4 a pound!!! Total deal! Love beef shanks.
Did you put ACV in with the bones for bone broth?
I need a lesson on using instant pot before being brave to buy one. I am so afraid to make it explode. I am a crockpot user for almost 30 yrs of marriage.
Im near you guys in Wisco...those shanks were crazy,. Can I ask the name of the shop?
Where did you get the marrow bones?
Should you get a bike helmet?
How long did you cook the shanks for after searing to get that tender?
Winner, winner, beef shank dinner!
I wonder if you could just add some gelatin to a broth reduction .
@ozzieabroad

But the butter is delicious! The best flavour is probably obtained by doing it exactly the way Mimi does it!
Did you make it entirely on the stovetop? How long did you simmer the shanks for?

As I recall from the Mimi vid, it was 3-4 hrs on the stovetop. You see Kerry turning the burner setting down, just like Mimi did.

3-4 hours! That seems like a long time for those small pieces of meat. Looks Delicious
I’m hungry 🥰
I tried this, but my meat didn't fall off to be tender like yours. I cooked on low heat for several hours. The gravy was amazing but the meat not so much. How long did you cook the meat? At what temperature?
You “Roof-Walk” like pros!!!
Yummy!!😋
I have always HATED gravy, it is disgusting and looks like something that came out of the rear of a duck. However, what you created is not gravy but a tasty collagen/fat meat sauce! Would love to try your cooking!

I am struggling with chronic nausea every time I go strict carnivore. Ive tried working though it and its been persistent. Ive tried decreasing fat, smaller portions, etc. nothing seems to help. Anyone else having this problem?
@Eyes0penNoFear
Ай бұрын
Have you tried increasing fat? I dealt with a bit of nausea and it went away when I finally started eating enough calories each day. I also needed to reduce the amount of protein I was eating. I do better when my calories are closer to 80% fat, 20% protein.
