The Spanish Civil War ------------ After the Spanish flu crisis and issue with the Republican government installed in Spain after WW1, the Nationalists under Franco decided that a new country must be installed in Spain as this government had many problems with medical situations and bad economic supplies to help the people in the country and later at the beginning of 1936, the Nationalists took over all Spanish colonies and islands were taken over and later the Nationalists entered into mainland Spain and the civil war began, the reason the Republicans lost was because of rusty Soviet equipment and low popularity and economic and military problems! However the only time the Republicans one was at the Battle of Madrid however soon it was occupied and the Nationalists split the Republican Army in half in Catalonia and there is one more reason why the Nationalists won, because the Nationalists had German and Italian Support and the Republican Army mostly had peasant people!

Actually no, Germany was not happy at all when Japan attacked the USA. While the initial, long term German plan was to Invade The USA, it was after it took out the Soviets. Hitler was nowhere near finishing off the Soviets when Japan attacked the harbor. Due to the tripartite pact, Hitler had to declare war on the USA. May 7, 1945 (6:30) General Alfred Jodl and General Wilheim Keitel surrenders all armed German forces unconditionally. July 7, 1945 (6:40) Brazil declares war on Japan. July 9, 1945 (6:41) The Norwegian government-in-exile declares war on Japan. July 14, 1945 (6:42) Italy declares war on Japan. August 1, 1945 (6:45) Germany and Austria are partitioned by the US, the UK, France, and the Soviet Union. August 6, 1945 (6:46) The atomic bomb “Little Boy” is dropped on Hiroshima, Japan. August 8, 1945 (6:46) The Soviet Union declares war on Japan. August 9, 1945 (6:47) The atomic bomb “Fat Man” is dropped on Nagasaki, Japan. The Soviet Union invades Manchuria. August 10, 1945 (6:47) Mongolia declares war on Japan. August 15, 1945 (6:48) Japanese Emperor Hirohito announces the compliance of Japan to the terms of the Potsdam Declaration in the famous “Jewel Voice Broadcast”. August 24, 1945 (6:49) Soviet troops enter Pyongyang. September 2, 1945 (6:51) Emperor Hirohito formally signs the surrender of Japan. The man speaking is US President Harry S. Truman. There were some other things I missed like the liberation of Somalia, Ethiopia, and Madagascar. I also forgot to mention the Winter War, which made Finland cede land to the Soviets. There was also the deposition of Mussolini. Shortly after he resigned, he was put back into authority by Hitler, hence why he was able to make the decisions after he resigned. The reason why so many countries declared war on the Axis at the last moment (Egypt, Saudi Arabia, numerous Latin American countries, etc.) was because they wanted to be a part of the United Nations, and being at war with the Axis would have secured their country a seat.

Thr amount of land they still controlled is deceptive. Their navy had been mostly neutralized by this point. Remember that the whole reason that Japan needed the south Pacific islands was for oil and other essential war resources. Therefore, American doctrine was to skip over heavily defended islands, take enough more lightly defended areas to extend operationall range, and essentially blockade the heavily defended islands, making their entire point (resources for Japan) completely useless, and leaving a bunch of Japanese soldiers sitting around with their thumbs up their butt with nothing to do.

Hello, apologies for a relatively late response. Map generally quite well done but I feel there is one obvious flaw. During WW2, contemporary maps (including Japanese maps) generally show Tibet as being part of the ROC. The major Allies (UK, USSR ,USA) & other sovereign nations (including Germany & Japan) did not recognise Tibet as independent. Ironically, the claim of Tibetan independence grew bigger as the ROC faded further into history.
