6:06 Hey Mitchell, I’m the guy in the green WSM in the video. I really appreciated you taking a moment to speak to myself and others after the medley. Even more so, I was incredibly inspired by your performance afterwards in spite of your hands. Seeing your performance yesterday gave me a whole new appreciation of you as a person and athlete. Keep doing what you do. LHBK

Almost broke the World Record too. I knew he had been training for that and likely broke the WR unofficially in training but after shredding his hands I wasn't sure if he'd attempt it just for half a point. But fuck that! He was there to put on a show! And that he did! Lol FWIW, I think Tom could have also broken the record on Saturday if he had attempted it.

Hi @Mitchell Hooper, Climbers suffer from parts of the skin tearing off. We call them "flappers" which basically happens when the skin or calluses get too thick. Climbers remedy this by cutting the skin down with a razor or sanding it. It might be worth looking at some videos on how climbers do this. Of course this may well be different in strongman but you never know, you might be able to avoid this happening again with some appropriate skin care. Good luck

Hey Mitch, I was there on day 1 of the finals and talked to your sister at your booth before buying some merch (love the LHBK boonie hat btw) but somehow missed meeting you. If WSM is back in Myrtle Beach, SC next year I'll definitely be back (I have a feeling WSM is going to be outside the USA next year though). Also, I think you might be the only Canadian to have ever had a crowd of Americans (in the USA) chant "Can-a-da" instead of "U-S-A" lol. Congrats on a great show, looking forward to you breaking the axle WR in a future comp.

I think the best examples of what men should be can be found in the WSM circuit. Honestly Mitchell, Brian Shaw, the Stoltman bros, Thor, Martins, Oberst etc are what all teenage boys should be looking up to.. They all just seem like nice guys, they all celebrate each other's achievements and seem like the kind of guys that would stop to help an elderly person bring their shoppings in

Fair play Mitch, you’ve given it your all, this was always going to be between you and Tom, 1 mistake (or in your case hands being shredded) the other is going to take full advantage. If you don’t win this year you’ll have more fire in your belly to win it back next year. Tom hasn’t put a foot wrong this year, the 2 of you are a level above the rest. Great sportsmanship and I’m writing this with 1 event left to go (so anything could still happen) but you’ve proved you’re worthy of your current title of WSM. Had you won the first event then it would be a different story but that’s strongman and competition. Much respect👍🇬🇧
