Yes but you need the credentials and you have to make an appointment.

Fun fact the Gutenberg Bible is not the first book produced by type, it’s not even the first book to be produced by metal type. Movable type has been used since 1040 AD in China and the Koreans developed metal type cast in 1377 and were mass producing books since the , nearly a century before Gutenberg.

Hey I’m 2 months late but, no it only reduces the oxygen in the library but not a lot to kill you so the fire won’t grow as fast and it will release a non harmful gas in the air to help smother the fire.

That’s a myth. The room floods with non-toxic inert gasses. This lowers the concentration of oxygen to low enough that the fire can’t burn. There is still enough oxygen for someone to breathe.

if there were a fire, all the oxygen gets sucked out of the building killing everyone who is still in the building to save all the rare books
