There are more sub $1000 kayaks available now than there were when I started over 20 years ago. Just because some kayaks get more expensive doesn’t mean there won’t be price point options. Innovation breeds competition and when companies compete consumers win.

It’s funny you are talking about motors while trolling. Thanks for the comment and the engagement. Okay. Thanks for your input. It’s a good thing that what some people think doesn’t really affect how others choose to enjoy themselves or pursue their passion. I’m proud to live in a country where everything isn’t “defined” by what the minority or even the majority “think” or “feel”. I had jon boats most of my life and they can’t touch what I can do in a kayak, not even close. This “might as well buy a boat” argument is old, tried and really doesn’t make any sense.

I just dont like the electric motors. To me that just takes away from everything the kayak is supposed to be. What if come late in a tournament a guy is tired from moving around all day and doesnt want to make a hard trip to another spot before the day is over and it costs him a real big fish where as someone else who will make the hard pedaling or rowing journey to another spot might pick up a big fish to help win a tournament. idk just sitting there with your electric motor buzzing around a lake or river just kills it for me, but im a kayak guy ive been rowing kayaks for almost 20 years so I'm a little biased. Might as well be on a boat in my opinion. Other than I loved the video great to watch. Just dump those electric motors :)

  • @ChadHooverFishing

Thanks for your opinion. It’s yours and I respect it. It doesn’t kill it for me, it enhances the overall experience many times and all of the comments about “just getting a boat are silly” that’s like saying that if someone gets an electric scooter they might as well get an eighteen wheeler”! Again, thanks for your comment and sharing your opinion, but please don’t tell me how to do what I enjoy.

Chad Hoover electric scooters and 18 wheelers are nothing alike lol but I get what you’re saying to each his own I guess like I said it just seems like your weeding out the average guy trying to make it because he’s going to be at a disadvantage without the motor. They aren’t exactly cheap especially on top of kayaks that aren’t cheap. It’s just another way you can pay your way to a win.

So, this takes place mid-March, None of the trees have leafed out yet, the water temperature is likely in the mid to lower 50's and only two people in this entire video have ANY sort of cold water immersion gear on. Someone is going to get seriously hurt or killed at one of these tournaments.... IMO, wait 2-3 weeks until the water is in the 60's at least, its not fair to expect the average person to know the dangers of water this cold.....

We blessed everything to avoid it offending anyone, and I am sorry that wasn’t enough. Rebecca was a beloved member of the kayak fishing community and she passed away last October while pre-fishing for an event. We showed who Rebecca was in this video and sent it to her for approval to make sure she was okay with it. She said, “that’s me and I don’t want you to change anything.” So, we didn’t and this is the last video we have of her before her passing. I’m sorry that the bleeps didn’t suffice for you, but an apology is all you will her from me, because we are not ashamed of the video and her family loves having this authentic representation of her to reflect back on.
