Banged Up: My Story - Toughest Stories from Behind Bars: • Toughest Stories from ...
The racing cyclists of Burundi have a dangerous job. But it’s a vital one for Burundi’s economy. Bicycles are the main means of transportation in one of the smallest countries in Africa. Bananas, the staple food in Burundi, are transported from the markets to a banana beer brewing factory. We accompany Tharcien, a bike courier, on his exhausting cross country trip on the Burundi Highway.

The cyclists of Burundi have a dangerous job. First of all, they’re completely mad and second they can compete with any adrenaline junkie earning a boatload for their antics. These guys barely scrape by yet they persevere and defy fate with their racing ways while transporting lots of bananas and other unwieldy stuff you’d normally use a truck for. Nope. These guys do it all on bikes. And these cyclists are a vital factor for Burundi’s economy. Bicycles are the main means of transportation in one of the smallest countries in Africa. Bananas, the staple food in Burundi, are transported from the markets to a banana beer brewing factory. We accompany Tharcien, a bike courier, on his exhausting cross-country trip on the Burundi Highway. Available Worldwide excl. The nation has very young and energetic working population so the nation will grow faster and their living standards will be developed soon. God Bless the nation of Burundi and it's people.

Yeah very right the country is working hard. But bro I’m telling you almost everyone in Africa works so hard. But what you get in return I mean your earning get no much rewards. Mothers in Africa would’ve been the richest, they did hardly sleep working daily and earns so little. Lotta works get no futures in here bro. Unless if the government interfere and start exporting foreign and give 75% or more percent or less percent to the workers. There things might get better, or trust me it’ll just stay the same. Just speaking my mind tho. Sorry if I’m being offensive

A very well filmed documentary about Burundi, its a very beautiful country with beautiful scenery and landscape, but what makes it stand out, its her people, extremely hardworking to put food on the table and happy people in spite of all the challenges of bad roads, low wages income and very few resources to make transportation easier like motor cycles etc.. Burundi has made me appreciate the little things in my country ,Mungu abariki Burundi. Keep pressing on Burundi people, so much love from Kenya.

Great documentary, we live in a world where 99% of the people has no idea how hard others have to work so we can be dress, feed, buy electronics, cars, everything! I know what hard work is cause I did it my self when I was a teen, I learn over the years and traveled to many countries as a part of the company based in NYC. I was doing well until I got ripped off by some bad people in Colombia South America. I still have to re/invented my self, again to cover the loss . Thanks to this people the world can move, be thankful to them.

If they were to compete in pro-cycling competition here in Japan ( that is quite popular sport game in Japan ), then I can ascertain you that they would be the winner with ease. Those guys are simply too good to be surpassable, Period. I enjoyed & appreciated a lot. I was utterly entertained by this doc. Thank you. (11/12/21)
