Did you know one of the most effective guns for an apocalypse is a 22lr a 22 has just enough power to enter a human skull but not enough to exit the skull so it would just ricochet off the back of the skull and bounce around inside the brain... which makes it effective, easy to use, almost no recoil whatsoever, very light weight, common readily available ammo, also very practical for small game hunting, and will put off way less sound while being fired therefore when you shoot it wouldn't attract as much attention
