World's First! China's Autonomous Subway Shocks the United States with Smart Technology.

It's simply incredible! China's driverless metro trains have reached an unparalleled level of automation with remarkable capabilities. The autonomous trains can now wake up, start, accelerate, decelerate, and brake on their own. For the first time, these trains also offer wireless charging, making travel more convenient for passengers. Anhui's first autonomous metro train, which will serve Phase 1 of Line 8, made its debut at the Beicheng Depot, showcasing China's leadership in the fully automated public transportation sector.
Designed according to the latest international automation standards, Hefei Metro Line 8 boasts a fully automated system that seamlessly integrates traction, braking, doors, and other functions to deliver optimal safety and efficiency. The network has been upgraded with a gigabit Ethernet ring network that significantly enhances data transmission and processing speeds while integrating maintenance and control networks, positioning it among the world's most advanced metro systems.
Anhui's Line 8 has implemented new systems to monitor key components like bogies, batteries, and power units, enabling predictive alerts and real-time maintenance notifications. Active and passive obstacle detection systems continuously scan the tracks for obstructions, triggering immediate alarms and emergency braking if needed. The health management system monitors braking, traction, door operations, and air conditioning to maintain passenger safety and performance.
In a first for the region, Anhui Metro Line 8 features 43-inch LCD dynamic electronic maps above each carriage door, providing real-time crowding levels, detailed route maps, and arrival times. Passengers can easily identify less crowded carriages for an optimized travel experience, thanks to synchronized screens at station platforms.
With superplastic-formed aluminum alloy technology, the trains feature an airtight design that reduces noise, and their double-balance wheel door system enhances comfort. Eight wireless charging stations and 24 USB ports ensure passengers stay connected throughout their journey.
Construction of Phase 1 of Line 8 is nearing completion, with all 12 stations topped off and 97% of the trackwork laid. Electrical installation and interior finishing are progressing steadily, bringing the line closer to operational status. Over a dozen cities in China now feature fully automated metro lines, with Shanghai leading the way, boasting five fully automated lines spanning 167 kilometers.
China's drive toward GoA4 automation standards has rapidly expanded its autonomous train network, with each new line pushing technological advancements in automation. Technological innovations are driving GoA2 and GoA3 systems to transition to GoA4, the highest automation level. According to the International Association of Public Transport (UITP), 48 cities globally now have GoA4 automated metro systems, with China's leadership in metro automation clearly established.
Anhui's first autonomous metro train represents a leap forward in China's journey toward fully automated public transit, combining the latest technology to deliver unprecedented efficiency, safety, and convenience. China's commitment to developing sophisticated, driverless metro systems solidifies its position as a world leader in public transportation automation.

    @billyehh

    @@reinebautistamercado4286 Well, since it was built in 1985, there has been no driver, the trains are monitored by a central station. Here is a quote from Wikipedia. If this is not automated, I don't know what is. "The signalling technology used on all three SkyTrain lines to run trains automatically was originally developed by Alcatel and loaded from a 3.5" diskette. There were initially four systems called the vehicle control computer (VCC) with three divided over the mainline and one for the storage yard. VCC1 controls trains from Waterfront to Royal Oak; VCC2 controls trains from Royal Oak to King George (it now also controls a portion of the Millennium Line); and VCC3 controls trains in the yard. Additional VCCs were added as Skytrain expanded. Each VCC is a cluster of three IBM Type 7588 rack-mount single-board computers with Intel-IA32 Pentium processors and proprietary hardware in a fault-tolerant configuration.[99] For example, VCC3 is composed of CPU1, CPU2, and CPU3. For every command that is sent to a train, at least two of the CPUs must agree with the action, otherwise an error is generated and the command is ignored. The VCC communicates with the train's vehicle on board computer (VOBC), whose data is transmitted through leaky coax cable laid along the tracks. There are up to two VOBCs per married-pair trains, i.e. 4-car train would have two VOBCs. If the VCCs fail or communication between the VCC and the VOBC is lost, the train will "time-out" and emergency-brake (EB) through a Quester Tangent brake assurance monitor (BAM) that controls propulsion and braking systems.[100] The VCCs have a command-line-console, but normally the trains are controlled through a system known as the SMC, which also provides scheduling. All commands from the SMC are verified to be safe by the VCC before execution. However if the SMC fails, the system can still be operated through the VCC. This is known as "degraded mode". The SkyTrain health monitoring unit (HMU) developed by Quester Tangent[100] provides monitoring and diagnostic functionality for vehicle maintenance by connecting to CAN vehicle network and providing a maintenance display in the Hostler Panel", Please do your research before you call someone who has done it and has ridden the Skytrain in 1986 a liar. I prefer to dicuss with people who have the intellegece to do their research rather than just insult people.

    So Automatic system going to make more unemployment since no manpower is required ? Only good things is replacement of staff not turning up on time due to multiple reasons like traffic jams & etc. For safety it may reach highest standard. For users points are the best . But for employment will it create crisis with automation , robotics & AI for jobs & social ecosystem with more jobless people in the high cost of living in urban area ? Will it increase the crimes rate later on unless there are social support coming from government program. Will there be automatic ai incomes for jobless people ?
