Being a native american hoop dancer it brings up good spirits and energy to see spectators in awe at the formations we make with these hoops, this dance is sacred in itself, the hoop is the circle of life that surrounds you daily, it helps you remind yourself that whatever you do..affects that hoop around you. Ive watched these guys for inspiration but also love to add my own moves to the mix.

To everyone who doesn't know what this is, it's Native American Hoop Dancing. It's a very technical and hard dance to pick up. I've been practicing hard for a year and it's still a challenge every day. Michael and Terry are great hoop dancers. Terry was the senior division champion at the heard museum world hoop competition and Michael placed fourth...so they are definitely some of the world's best. It's a beautiful and rich culture to appreciate. Not everyone has to like it, but it would be nice to have everyone respect it. Much love and aloha ***** ...hoop is a beautiful dance

It still follows his original tradition of "discovering and showing unique talents in the world". Check out his greatest find, Lindsey Stirling. Blending video game viral themes to expose a modern twist of an antiquated instrument to younger market in KZread. Whaddaya know, hers is an art-form treasure hidden for centuries and she's slated to transform the future of orchestrals, imo! What you're looking at is "The Mother of the Orchestral Dance"! That's a Mozart class phenomenon in the making! ;)

This is insane! Their talent is pretty awesome in itself, but I really love how you're able to capture it so well - it's so cool how they rolled the hoop out and it'd stop and come back to them, and how you circled around this flawlessly. And - gasp - the music! The combination of the native song and the modern synth sound is sicktastic! I love it!

Man, I would've really enjoyed this if the camera was a little more static and you didn't cut or jump the footage forward so much. The subjects are moving around so much and so intricately that the camera movement makes it really hard to appreciate the skill of the dancer.

Certainly not the world's best, I saw a more skilled and exciting hoop dancer performing at a public library. There was only one of him as well, and he still managed to be better than these guys.

Well firstly, the title says "World's best NATIVE hoop dancers" meaning it probably excluded your library dancer out of the competition seeing as he was most likely not a native. The video never claims to have the Worlds best hoop dancers, it claims to have the worlds best NATIVE hoop dancers. And also even if the dancer in the video won the national championship, it does not make him the worlds best as it was a National competition, not international...

Could just be the way the video was put together. One of the things I remember being most amazed at was the flow of the dance, how one move transitioned to the next. In this video, you just showed one move at a time, jump cutting to the next. Took everything out of the excitement.

Actually, I liked their original video better than this one - all the camera movement was distracting from the dance. It's not about you and your camera work, Devin; it's about the dancers.

***** If this is the only hoop dancing you have seen, it may seem that way...Video is much too short to showcase all the skill, patience and endurance that it takes to do this dance.

The 1st time I saw something like this was when I was in elementary school. I don't remember much details, but we were in the cafetoríum and a little native American girl did a 3 hoop dance on stage while her father chanted and played a drum. I think they were invited to perform because she was around my age (6-7 yrs that time) and she didn't go to my school. Her name was Yellow Feather. If you're out there I just want to say that that was one of the coolest things I've ever seen, and I still remember it even after 2 decades!
