World record paddlefish, handling tips and Livescope fishing

In a span of only five months, Keystone Lake produced numerous world class size paddlefish. From February to July 2020, anglers snagged and boated an unofficial world record, an Oklahoma state record, two world records and dozens of triple digit sized fish - one lake, one guide, and in one short amount of time. This is the story of the Keystone world record fish.
In our second segment, we tag along with that same guide, Jeremiah Mefford as he gives us some tips on how to properly land, weigh and release these giant paddlefish.
Finally in segment three, we join two game warden anglers on Broken Bow lake for some hot winter time fishing action using spoons and Garmin Livescope.

I understand the regulations but damn how you gonna deny a snag like that. IMO snagging paddle fish to me is cruel and isn’t fishing.

That's how they fish them in OK. On Grand in the spring...you can see dozens of boats snagging up river. Right or wrong...who am I to say. I don't live there or fish for them.

It's the only way to catch one. They eat algae you can't put algae on a hook.
