love this boat and the engine sounds .please make more videos from the trip ,and in full speed. i really enjoy listening to those engines.

What a machine. Watching them on Marine Traffic. They’re currently 5h39’ into the run. Average speed 29.3 kn, max speed 36 kn. Just about parallel to Bonifacio, well out to sea. I’ll be watching this most of the night. Exciting enough, but what I’d give to be there. Thank you for sharing Tristan.

What exactly arw the parameters for this record? I mean you could beat this boat at this distance with a 40" fishing catamaran.

It's basically a demonstrator for the hull design, it's not just fast, it's fast even in really rough conditions. Idea is to build these for search & rescue or similar applications.

Real athletes, send the poor sportsman some more money for their heroic journeys.

What a waste of fuel, some people will never learn.

But what is this for ? After "aviation bashing", those kind of videos could help create or contribute to a "superyacht bashing" ....

The start of a race is always awful.

Would be more impressive if they did it in a canoe or kayak under human power, just get a bigger or more powerful boat to crush their record really isn’t a record of anything.

One could say that about the Land speed or any other motorized speed or altitude record, too, but I do understand. What I find artificial is the whole course. Around a few islands? Not like it’s across an ocean or around the world

And just what is the point? Just a waste of fuel and equipment, Wear and tear on a perfectly good boat!

Reruns? It's happening right now 🤦🤦🤦 if you are on about the last time Tristan was on thunder child 2 that was a attempt to go from Ireland to Monaco but it got aborted due to technical issues. This is a completely different attempt.
