It's a 70ish foot boat. That large a vessel makes any inlet in Florida a piece of cake!!

As a former tall ship sailor and trawlerman I am in absolute awe of this vessel. Gorgeous and capable she takes my breath away.

Love that boat, been following these guy's for a few years but what strikes me is how stable the drone fotage is in the same conditions.

In fairness the drone isn't crashing through the waves. High winds, sure, but a high quality one with a good gimbal system for the camera and a gyroscope for the drone it shouldn't be too much of a problem. Considering what boat cost I'm sure they either invested in a high end one or hired a professional film crew with top notch equipment. Definitely wasn't your average $500 consumer drone. 👍🍻

I don't normally like "speed" boats but this boat is the exception that proves the rule. She is beautiful and watching her taking on heavy seas is awesome. Thanks for bringing Thunder Child II to your chanel.

I watched Tristan's trip on that boat a while back. I know he was feeling under the weather with a flu or something but he got some great footage. It's an awesome, awesome boat.

That's amazing, it's like a motorized surfboard but whit a cabin :D Amazing!!

I am terrified of “boats” but would go out in heavy seas in that beast!👍

Gawd that makes my back hurt just watching! BEAUTIFUL boat, but I couldn't handle the impacts.

Dang it's the freaking space shuttle! I want one!!!! Wish you would do videos instead of just pictures.. I am old now and moving pictures fascinate me ;-) But John that was the most exciting boat I have seen on any channel.. With my wife being sick since March I just haven't had the time to play with this stupid box that brings me such good stuff. oh yeah .I guess they call it a computer.. Well I knew it would come to me.. thanks for the great time son.. I do enjoy your channel a lot.. carry on.. be safe and for goodness sake have fun!

Now THAT'S a boat. G'day John. That episode has come out of left field. Love to see its performance down here south of Nz in the roaring 40s and furious 50s. Heading to the sub Antarctic Islands. This boat is an excellent way to ‘enter’ the baiting world 🙌

Looks like a beast of a machine.

In the marine world, certain vessel names are sacrosanct; in the powerboat world, Thunderchild is one of those, it is a special, evocative name and is not a name one uses lightly. However, it it is completely appropriate in this case; Thunderchild II is a work of the boatbuilder's art. She is the very epitome of what a large, fast powerboat should be. I've been in this game, on and off for some 40-odd years and IMHO, Safehaven produce the best sub-100-foot rough weather craft in the world and if you disagree, bite me. For those who do not understand, her 6G operational limits are equal to what a lot of aerobatic aircraft are rated at . . . think about it . . . "Who would not want to be a member of Thunderchild's crew?" A lot of people I dare say would not want to be crew on Thuderchild but then, they don't really count, do they?

Such a perfect coastal patrol coast guard vessel :)

When I was a kid (12 or so - 57 now) I built a model boat with a hull about as near to this design as it could be. The damned thing handled so well and went so fast, I'm not surprised by the capabilities of the full size boat. Funny. I'm Irish too. Must be in the blood.

Comfor dus noodzaak. Bij de eerste tender de Voyager werdt ook de electronica stuk gevaren. Vermogen en speed is fool speed.

Those SHOXS seats are bananas!!!!!! Their website has a list of all the military and law enforcement that uses them, it's LONG!!! Everyone here in Canada, same with the US except the Marines, didn't see them on the list HAHAHAHAHA!

14 knots she would can Through that swell perfectly without all that spray gun over the top of her, she’s going to fast through the waves brilliant Boat excellent design. I always like the Nelson for a seagoing vessel, but this out does that by far

yes this is what I thought too, and is there a system made so if the boat can flip back (recover) from a thrown up down position in the sea ?

It would be interesting to see it in real seas

This is exactly what we need to break the American record from Maine to Miami and I'm sure with the right setup it can be done???.

I get sea sick in like 15mins and it doesnt stop until im back on land for an hour or two.

It's the bow and hull that's matter.. It cuts the water like a knife.. Surely this Hull could be a catamaran or even a trimaran and utilised on much larger vessels

I love Thunder Child, I watched it since Thunder Child I, I really hope to have one so I can often visit my mother who lives on a small island ... can this be privately owned sir?

An awesome piece of nautical technology in Thunder Child II!! I like all the redundancies and safety aboard her, and as a Canadian I can tell you we know a bit about large waves and nasty seas so I'm glad they went with SHOXS seats! I couldn't help but notice what I think are hydrofoil tabs in her tunnel, are they for lift or stability, or both? I wish them the very best on their record attempt from London to Monaco!!

I'm going to start a GoFundMe because this boat will save my life! because I can't resist my attraction to the ocean

I went through swells and waves like that and bigger in a 29 ft sailboat in a storm on lake Michigan. Now that was impressive. The fact that I am able to even give you this message today after that is quite astounding

I’m always superstitious when it comes to sailing on any vessel with numbers that come after one for some reason.

I'd like to see a boat like that but with gigantic hydrofoils that allow it to rise above all of the waves.

They really missed an awesome opportunity to install a built in bow camera looking down at the knife edge

All vessels has a breaking point I'm wondering where this one's at forepeak midship or stern most new offshore oil& gas field crew boats I've worked on breaking was midship after a 3 month long beating but still stayed healthy and of course they're aluminum haul boats which is over 100 footers the biggest crew boat I was on is 165 footer powered with 4 3412 cats 35 knots it was one of the fastest in the gulf of Mexico. Now the boat that's in the video taking a beating I wouldn't be sleeping on it unless it was calm or at the dock lol
