He didn’t really have enough time to run for it between when his teammates died and the Shima rounded the corner on him, if he was in the position I think he was when they died. Contrary to what Jingles said he did clearly have his engine running at the time he was spotted and trying to turn.

There's a difference between blundering out from behind an island straight into a face full of torpedos and shooting your own division mate so much he rage quits. Blundering into a trap is also not as bad as trying to win harder by chasing a DD across the map and running straight into a wall of skill launched by said DD. Don't worry, you're safe.

Fletcher driver is actually bfk_fer1yfe from 07 clan on his alternate account. He was featured here with his insane Smolensk performance. He was in division with Smolensk and Yueyang, so I think it was their usual fooling along, that anyone watching their stream, especially so called "Geargiong Experience", knows.

"Shima replays are kind of boring, if they're doing it right they never get spotted and kill everything with torps." And I would watch it all day, Jingles, lol!

Shimas are the artillery of the high seas. Usually quite boring to watch, but once shit pops, it's either quick or legendary, sometimes even both.

Respectfully, what you're describing here isn't what happened. The *Smolensk* had the 412k, the Fletcher and Yueyang were spotting and smoking, trying to get the Smolensk as high as possible. That's also why the Yueyang and Fletcher didn't shoot at the Shima - they were trying to get Smolensk all the damage possible. "Geargiong" is a streamer on the NA server who does this kind of double-smoke + farming division fairly regularly.

That is also not true. The highest damage he's ever done on the Smolensk is 334.186. So...

I saw a similar thing happening in my game yesterday. We had 8 ships left vs the enemy's 5, we had 2 of the 3 caps and a points lead. I detonate and it starts a downward spiral where our team loses all ships except for a New Mexico, vs the enemy's remaining Gadja Mahda, a French cruiser, and a low health Lyon. BUT...while New Mexico was full health it is shit slow and out of position while the enemy DD caps ALL the caps. We were dead in the water. We had the slowest ship in the game on the far side of the map, we just lost the points lead and ALL the caps. All the enemy needed to do was stay dark for 1 to 2 mins and win. Lyon opens up from 14 kms with less than 2k health. He dies from a return salvo...buying us precious, but seemingly meaningless time. It seemed meaningless until the French cruiser revealed himself trying to play ring around a rosie with our BB...trying to torp him around an island but missing dismally. SOMEHOW getting himself stuck on the island and the NM one-shotting him as he came around the island. Then the DD...after capping ALL the caps...he sailed BACK and managed to get himself spotted by the BB. The New Mexico wiffs his first shot from 5km completely, then rushes the DD smoke and shoots him with HE once he proxy spotted him. I have been on teams where this shit happened before...but I have never been in a team where I was so mad at my team for throwing a game away, yelling at my monitor...only to see the enemy one-upping my team at the death for the "most speshul player" awards.

I'm digging the Pink Floyd reference after that collision at start.

This battle was the WG verison of an anime protaganist suddenly unlocking their powers midfight.

The fletcher sat in plain view to die essentially on purpose, giving the enemy team more points, so the smolensk could get more damage. Same with the YY. Its the smol that would have had the 400k+ game.

All I can say, is I don't feel so bad about any of my loses now, that was soo bad. Man that was so bad that everyone that wasn't in that battle won.

Trust me there are some extremely funny world of tanks replays, go watch jingle’s most popular world of tanks videos, they’re all from a long time ago. There was one where 4 enemy tanks rammed themselves to death on an AT-7, jingles was laughing his face off the entire time. Funny moments like that in WOT don’t happen anymore, but back in the day WOT was way funnier.

This is tremendously snatching a defeat from not only victory's jaws, but it's stomach.

Considering what i've read here that the Fletcher player was known for trollish behaviour and a clan leader, plus that for some reason both the Smolensk and Yueyang were shooting at him (that first salvo Jingles commented on seemed suspiciously like a 16-gun salvo from a Smolensk, not a 6-gun salvo from a YY). Maybe he asked his division mates their damage numbers and bragged in chat, adding them to his total because hes such an awesome leader and noone can get anything done when he doesnt guide their hand. In which case, that Fletcher trolled his team into a defeat. So it wasn't a 1 vs 5 at the end, it was a 2 vs 4, with one of SilentMetals "teammates" being able to launch wickedly effective sabotage torpedoes.

@@Pilvenuga The entire goal of the Bravo division (YY, Fletcher, Smolensk) of the enemy team was to get the smolensk to as much damage as possible. And they went for the TK for one reason: more time to kill the shima. Blew up in their faces, but that's what they tried to do.

I've had games like this and you'd be amazed on NA how many people realize that they're trying to win harder after being reminded of it. Turns out the embarrassment of losing and potentially being laughed at on KZread is a powerful motivating factor.

And he detonates a Slava! Hahahaha!

This is just everyone's typical random battle experience in a nutshell.

@12:56 Jingles: "our hero here is now alone against 5 enemy ships..." Me: " Oh, there's a Kolobanovs metal up for grabs. " Jinges: " ... more than half the enemy team! " Me: "right. Wrong game. "

This was the Geargiong experience, you give BFK channel points and he divs with you and helps you farm huge damage totals. The 412k was the Smolensk he was spotting for and smoking up not him. He really won't shoot anything just spot for the farmer, that's why he wasn't shooting at the Shimakaze. Plus they only care about farming damage so the left the C cap alone so they could hunt the Shimakaze.

I love how you can tell DDs have gone back to being the most oppressive class with the CV rocket nerf.

Saw a replay a few days ago that was one hell of a throw, it's impressive how much harder of a throw this one was.

If I lost a game like this I'd probably never touch the game again tbh.

The fletcher was played by the commander of 07 (bfk). He plays this game as a mockery, as you can tell from the chat.

The Slava gets sunk by torps and a detonation. Given that hid behind an island even after the sh*tstorm that caused the rest of his team mates to die, I'd say it was still poetic justic. Thank You Jingles for providing entertaining commentary for an equally entertaining battle replay. Congrats to SilentMetal for the performance in said battle. I hope everyone reading this to the end is having a great day/evening.

This IS the greatest replay of World of Warships ever. This sums up the entire games experience in one battle. This is the new gold standard of WoW memes.

I love my 20k Shima torps. In a clan battle I launched at a moving ARP Yamato at 17-18km. The torps took so long to get out there I kind of forgot about it and was almost reloaded when that ARP Yammy just blew up. 8 torps hit. I put it down to a lesson learned by a wallet warrior.

I gave up on World of Warships in February of 2020. I still enjoy watching Jingles' videos. I'm not surprised, but a little sad that it looks like not much has changed. While skill and strategy have a lot to do with a team's victory, keeping one's cool and cooperation still appears to be the final deciding factor.

That was one of the most craziest battles I've ever watched I can't believe it that they were that far ahead and through it all away just like that

Want to know a way to get fat stacks of xp and credits in Grand battle? Get a DD and play for caps. All the other DDs will zoom straight for enemy BBs in this mode, I've gotten caps basically uncontested in because the other DDs sail from spawn to spawn, since they are so thirsty for those thicc Super BB health pools.

Just gotta say, that flank being held by only a lone light cruiser is much like a wot blitz game I had last night. 3 heavies went heavy route, and were stopped dead in their tracks by a lone chaffee. Even after 6 enemies popped up on the map on the other side of the map, they continued to be horrified of this lone chaffee. But thankfully, me in a pz. 4 s, an Sherman e8, a flat panzer, and nashorn. Managed to hold out at the top, and right before the time ran out for a draw. The enemy chaffee finished killing our m6, kv1s, and kv2

To this day i love when people talk about cv planes attacking after they die. Quite frankly it would be hilarious if you were in a war and all of the planes in the sky exploded because the carrier they launched from got sunk. With unlimited ammo and unlimited torpedos, the ability to repair your ship that much in the middle of battle, people decided to say "this one thing is unrealistic." I love you jingles. I just laugh everytime i hear anyone talk about it.

Holy shit, when i clicked this 3 days ago (internet died) i was expecting a glorious loss. that battle though, is the post card for ONO reverse MEMES! AND a Detonation for the FINALE KILL Was a DETONATION for even more of an insult.

From 11:40 to 12:00 you can actually hear "Ra, ra, rasputin" intensifying in the distance as the Smolensk kicks the CV to death. I suppose the Richthofen's captain was much to busy licking the windows clean to actually notice his ship was sinking

The Smolensk shooting the Fetcher reminds me of a Jingles episode named “Dance of the Raging Arseholes” where a Fiji fired it’s guns on teammates for like 10 minutes

That was, by a wide margin, the BIGGEST throw I've seen yet in WoWs, and, I've been watching replays for Years! As far as that Game went: (Jingles Voice) "How do you Fuck That Up?!?"😂🤣

It is funny. Intelligence tokens! Also, multiplying each ship factor provides a baseline for the possible ship combinations, there is also the number of possible variations of each factor such as armour.

This is a good example of how OP DDs have become. I'm guessing for most of the game the enemy team simply never saw the Shimakaze. Likey SilentMetal has mods on his Shimakaze and captain skills that would cause you to only be able to spot him if you are practically sitting on top of him. Such DDs were super hard to hit as CVs _prior_ to the rocket plane rework as by they time they appeared visually to your plane they would already be to close for the rocket or torpedo arming distance, if you flew over them and turned around they would disappear, rinse and repeat. The only way in the past to hit them was to first find them, turn around, guesstimate where they should be and start the attack run on them before they reappeared again - which took some skill. Now it is just flat out impossible unless they are parked behind an island or otherwise just parked. Even in this "perfect" circumstance the return pass can not be from an island side at all or it will by default fubar the planes targeting and the DD can not be around other allied ships or your planes won't live long enough to eventually make an attack run due to opponent AA. This is why a CV player would just NOT WASTE TIME on the Shimakaze. Also, there is no such thing as a one shot kill as a CV player. Even a perfect rocket strike on a completely stationary DD these days will not even do half damage. So these days a CV being chased by a DD can not even defend itself from the DD unless it is a German CV with secondaries build ( Which is really playing as something other than a CV with minor airplane support ). I briefly considered the Shima winning against 5 remaining ships, all of whom were still fairly healthy. And I completely rejected the possibility. 😂 A Fletcher just deserting. Because his teammate was firing on him. A Slava without a det flag. And everyone playing in the full knowledge that the last remaining enemy is the best torp boat in the game, but somehow not counting on torpedoes in the water. It is the craziest ending I've ever seen. 😳 😂

This could easily have been a game where the DD goes hunting the CV for 10mins, robbing the team of scouting, and then the team loses. It all lined up in the end tho.
