If we go low tier, how about the Mikasa? The only Tier II batttleship. her mainguns are probably the worst guns in the game, but she makes up for it with tons of secondaries, and she is nearly immune to returnfire at that tier. Also quite nimble for a battleship so you can dodge torpedoes and then hose the dd down with your secondaries.

Got 7 kills in a Random last night, with the Agincourt, and we still lost... 6 x Close Quarters kills. Its secondaries are very accurate.

the reason so many players love asyn battles, because there you can do it best crazy to have a "top brawler" video without the hannover ... its THE brawler if you rly wanna brawl ... its like a GK on drugs

True. Asym is super fun because of brawling. Love playing the GK. Regularly get 300k dmg. Schlieffen is really fun to with super secondaries and those torps! The issue is the tanking is quite a bit lower than GK. I'm not a fan of super ships. Yes, Hannover is great, but it kind of messes up bots for rest of team.

Maybe for future top 5 (something) lists, ships that are not available except by gambling should be moved to an "honorable mention". That would make the list more useful for viewers who are looking to acquire a ship that does whatever the list is about. Unless the list is intended to be a nostalgia "best of all time" and not a "best ship you should get for X". Still love the vids though. You are remarkably chill for how salty the game makes people.

The normal scharnhorst is much better imo due to the short fuse 283mm. The guns are small on both normal and '43 that the normal pen times doesn't add any improvement. But the short fuse is absolutely deadly on cruisers. And easily makes up for little less secondary dpm. Especially in brawling situation.

I think the only reason those werent added is because you cant get them anymore. With the exception of Atlantico all the ships have guaranteed way to purchase, and even Atlantico can be found in lootboxes. Michelangelo and Schröder are dockyard ships and afaik the only dockyard rerun was Puerto Rico.

Brandenburg is a ton of fun. Has 1 more secondary turret than the tirpitz and more main guns granted they are smaller caliber. Also has a better bow than the tirpitz

When I just had started playing WoWS in 07/07/2021 I went looking for WARSHIPS vids on how to, I found your vids praising the Line for the #1 in your list and from what I remember It was the 2nd line of BBs I acquired, The 1st line I got was the Montana line. My recent experience in brawls has been that it’s not the ship, it’s the team. I get matched with tin can drivers who won’t cap or even spot and BBs who hide behind rocks. 🙄

Honestly, I would have made a top 6 list just to include the Tier 9 Schroder. The secondaries on that boat are also quite fearsome. It´s not as tough as the Napoli, but it´s no pushover either.

I'm fortunate enough to have all of the ships mentioned in this video and agree. If you're doing top ten I'd add the Agincourt, Scharnhorst (either or both), Michelangelo and possibly the Yodo, although it probably should be crowned the SPAM King.

USS Arkansas Beta. Absolute monster of a brawling ship, with a bucketload of 5 inch guns at 6km range. Now, 6km doesn't sound like a lot when compared with Schlieffen but remember this is tier 4, when maps are like 15x15km. They buffed the accuracy some years ago too, so it's like a Massa, but 4 tiers bellow.

I brawl with the wrong ships all the time, it's still fun to do. As long as they aren't in a Scharnhorst, I avoid brawling with those.

Thanks for another interesting video SLM. Saw the new tier X BB Libertad on the PT server the other day. Looks like it's going to be very good brawler. It's F button increases secondary range by 10 pc and secondary damage by 30 pc. (Guess that may be tweaked by the time it's released.) It ended up the battle getting into a secondary brawl with an Ohio. Was interesting to see which would win. They ended up destroying each other at the same time with their final salvos!

the RIGHT condition, but just how often it come to be , and even at that , with the RIGHT captain, and the RIGHT ship, you still need a team to back you up and these days how often you actually see people willing to get up front & MIX IT UP TO SUPPORT AND FIGHT IT , yes it can be working but its far and few in between unfortunately

Just a suggestion for a future video (unless you've already done one) is to give a list of Top 5 brawling ships for each Tier. This w/b extremely useful since the brawls are often restricted to 1 or 2 Tiers. Right now it w/b helpful for info on best Tier 7 brawling ships for example. Just a thought. GK is also my most played ship by a large margin, i just love her. That was the first line i went to T10 on and it was so worth it. Got about 30 more battles or so until Schlieffen, and Im so ready for it.

I would also add as "honorable mention" the tier 9 Premium German cruiser "Agir". She's great at stealth and once spotted she's right on top of secondary range and plus her close in torps. Popping up from behind a island in range, she's devastating.

Tirpitz with Luijens wow. Schilieffen is one am working on.

My list: 4-5. Scharnhorst & Scharnhorst'43, 3. Tirpitz, 2-1. Karl Johan & Schroder (Schroder lacks torps but has better secondaries and reload times for main battery).

The Napoli is wonderful.

For me best brawling ship is Agincourt. Its amazing on its tier and you still have 14 pretty accurate guns that easily erase any boardside cruiser. Plus you have tons of secondaries that cover you against any DD on its tier.

Got Sicilia few days ago. In right situation its just nuts! Built on secs and fire prev. I fell in love with that ship immidietly. Love the mainguns also. Yeah, dispersion is all over the place but my G when they connect! It's 16 Roma guns! And you who play and enjoy Roma know what I'm talking about! Around 12-13 km and down those guns are monsters even if they are only 380mm. I run constant ap with tem, bites well on everything, even dd and on Sicilia u have 16 of them. So when u are in brawlingrange u have the sap secs working hard (not as accurate as Schliffen or Napoli but u have also those monsters of 380mm guns. U delete a broadside bb or heavy armored crusier in moments and lighter ones when they are angled. (So high velocity on the guns that u just shoot through everything broadside that doesn't have good armor. But no1 is Schliffen still. And most fun right now is Sicilia because it has its special "personality" and u have to threat it in special way like a beautiful Italian lady for it to sing lovesongs back to you :)

The Atlantico looks like the UK shipyard that built her had the secondary guns of the Admiral Nelson and Agamemnon pre-dreadnought battleships just lying around and managed to pad out the contract by adding them to the design, but the customer balked at adding the single 9.2" gun mounts..

Brawling is great. One of the best ways to actually battle. Also the coal reward is good.

Atlantico is one of those "I just wanna have some fun" ships. I don't have the Massachusetts but Napoli and GK I do, and yeah they're fun. Don't have Schlieffen yet tho. I have to add that although Marlborough seems to be made of paper, it is literally a Tier IX shotgun.

If I'm feeling scrappy with BBs, I'll pull a surprise or two on unsuspecting DDs and extend my secondary range mods in Missouri...but if I'm feeling like a total crackhead, I'll do the same with Yamato. No DD ever expects it, and I've gotten a good few CQEs that way, too

As I have 4M ship XP on GK, I agree. (oh Lutjens with leg module helps overall performance, main battery is also good at that range its sin not to get max of both weapon types) Napoli is great too, once you choose your fate by equipping secondaries module in 6th ship slot. It can cut base 90mm secondaries reload to 2,2s, IMHO much better pick than someones recommended main battery reload module. I think I had 600 secondaries hits with Napoli once in Assymetric battles.

Atlantico on consoles is wild, its a too two, only loses the top 1 there because it lacks torpedos.

1) Schlieffen - no argument from me, best brawler 2) Pommern - the best german brawler from the original bb design (prior to the battle cruiser lines) 3) GK - old school is best school 4) Massachusetts - obscenely good, its AA almost puts it above the GK 5) Odin - even though it has no AA to speak of, this original battlecruiser is surprisingly effective still even with it's terrible hp pool, unlike the other ships on this list it has actual armor (60 bow, 90 stern) combined with her stern facing torp tubes and she remains a very strong brawling bb, who I'd take against a Tirpitz, Massachusetts or Bismarck every day of the week

The biggest downside to the Massachusetts is the 5K ASW range.

I thought the devs had said they were going to buff Massachusetts' ASW airstrike range to 8 km some time ago, but when I played her the other day, she was still at 5 km. What's up with that? I jumped on Alabama shortly after and hers is 10 km. The times I have been running into subs in Massa have been making my life miserable. In the video here, Schlieffen is going after a Thrasher at 10.8 km, so airstrike range for her is probably at least 11 km. 8 km for Massa seems more than fair. When a sub can stay hidden if the player is halfway decent, the secondary battery doesn't help you, no matter how long its range is. There's also been times when a sub has been spotted within secondary range, but the sub is submerged at periscope depth where you can still damage it with gunfire, and even though I designate it as priority target, the secondaries won't fire at it. Have had the same problem with Napoli as well. Frustrating as hell.

I play her as a torp dd. Her secondaries aren't incredibly strong.

2 that you missed are the PEF at tier 6 she has more secondaries than Bismarck and Tirpitz and is 2 tiers lower. And of course, the graf spee try running her secondary build, and you would be surprised at her range.

My favorite brawler is Alsace especially in ranked.

Sea Lord, what about the admiral schroeder? Have you even played that ship? It is an absolute beast. I think you limited yourself too much by only having five ships in this list. The Agincourt and Scharnhorst should have been in there too. Otherwise I agree with your choices.

Imho the Schlieffen and the German superbattleship Hannover are totally absurd. They basically play themselves and make the games a misery for destroyers and cruisers. Every time I hop on PTS 50% of the noobs playing there pick one of these no-skill-required ships. Granted the other tier11 ships can fuck them up pretty quick, but man is it boring to have these noobmachines drive around and deal damage without any tactical consideration. Of course they get focus fired immediately because everyone hates them. You forgot to mention the Mikasa. I believe that thing is quite ridiculous at her tier.

Bismarck's hydro is way more usefull than Tirpitz's torps. Overall Bismarck is a better ship imho.

Brawling isn't dead. Most of the playerbase is idiotic: they think secondaries will solve all their problems. They get shot at once, then the 2 neurons in their head all scream "press W" and then they die. Brawling is an acquired art, and most people just don't have the patience for it. You will rarely see schlieffens or GKs late game but you should if they are played correctly.

My guesses on what ships appear (pre-watch, it was uploaded barely about 12 minutes ago) are Napoli, GK, Bismarck, Schröder and Karl XIV Johan, let's see how correct I am now

I believe the Atlantico, along with the rest of the ships in her tech tree, are due for a small range increase on their secondaries.

If I understood the development blog dated June 5, 2024 correctly, in update 13.6 they are starting the closed testing of the upcoming Pan American tech tree battleships. As part of that, they are increasing all Pan-American secondary range. I don't know if that means they are increasing the range in 13.6, or once the new tech tree enters what I assume will be early access.

No love for Schroeder.....interesting.

I always love how the gaming community always says. The (insert game name here) game is dying or not doing so well.... Without realizing thats because the worlds economy is falling apart around them. AND!!! When researching a game, and all you hear is that its dying. Your less inclined to play it. I wish one of the KZreadrs would figure this out.

It would be nice to hear that from time to time. I understand the frustration. I went threw it with Rift. One angry KZreadr swore every update was the end of the game. All while a certain us president was "managing the decline of the economy". I'm just getting the vibes of Take Two!! Just as I find a game to like again.

Pomeranian has good but not great secondaries. While the Pomeranian is good at brawling, I don't think I would put it in the top 5 in the game.

@@TheRohanstorey except anyone that knows how to play the schliffen will either control the fight since he will outspot you by a long shot and bait you into his much better secondaries, even the GK armour melts under them and the best part is that at any point the schliffen can go dark past 12.5km plus torp. The GK is kind of obsolete with the new stealth, maneuverability secondary battleship like the schliffen and soon the new pan American bb
