This video is a full review of the tier 10 tech tree Soviet ground attack aircraft (GAA), the Ilyushin IL-40P. I analyse and compare its statistics to the other tier 10 GAA, plus the tier 10 bombers, I explain how I set the aircraft up, I discuss crew skills to suit the set up, show you the post-build effects of my build, then demonstrate what the plane can do with some 5 chevron gameplay. There's a bonus battle, also a 5 chevron effort, at the end of the video.

Superb effort, great video again. The Il-40P is largely irrelevant yes, however there's ONE case of exception here: during Operations gamemode, there are plane-class-specific missions, and for the GAA missions I've used to fly this aircraft over the 1102B because of it's sheer hitpoints and survivability against the huge numbers of AA guns. You wanted to spare the munitions for the large targets, and so you couldn't just drop everything on the low-altitude AA. So those operations with the Fortress sectors are it's time to fly it. Also for surviving longer within the sectors I've used the special pilot Vasily Pavlov with his 10% resistance vs AA.

That's a useful point concerning Vasiliy Pavlov, thank you. I haven't really noticed a survivability issue with the Me P.1102 B and, in my case, I score more consistently and more heavily with the German GAA. We'll see, if and when the WoWP team brings back other game modes, how the IL-40P performs.
Well done Q. Still love this plane for ground pounding missions.

I think on the NA server it would be a nicer experience. It's not great on the EU server these days, or so I think.
As always, fun to watch and the information provided.

That's kind of you to say so and I'm glad you found the video informative.
@TheNobleQ - Another good video. Thank you and keep up the good work! :) I have been playing so much I have a bit of tendonitis in my right arm. An ace bandage really helps. :)

It's good to see you here again. Tendonitis is that kind of thing that can take a long while to clear up. I hope in your case it doesn't!
I agree with you that it is no longer so viable because of bombers. However I consider it far better than its German counterpart, especially with the unique female pilot. It's more fun to play. It definitely needs buffs in terms of speed... Quick question: I need one ground pounder for mid tier dailies. Which one would you recommend? (Preferably tier 7)

My preference is for speed, to get about the sectors more quickly, so I'd go for the Me 265. I don't like any of the GAAs below tier 7. However, if you prefer the IL-40P over the Me P.1102 B, maybe you'd prefer the IL-8.

he is surprised that there are people playing World of Warplanes, which is considered to be a dead game by a lot of players.

@@black_thunder2159 Thank you. I suppose it depends on what people define as "dead". Unmarketed, little development - yes, lacking a player base - no.
