Was team runescape as a kid, but when it changed to rs3 I figured this is a cheap knock off of that wow game. So I tried wow. To this day I play both old-school runescape and WoW! Funny u mentioned that!

I jumped in during The Burning Crusade. Wotlk is still my favourite expansion. But this definitely peeked at my interest a little.... WoW is simply a childhood memory for so many people on this planet

cool vid ... I also returned for shadowlands after more than 7 years... definitely improved and the engagement is amazing...

I appreciate you doing this. I stumbled across this video and this hit all the feels, as a hunter I spent so much time hunting rare pets just to have em nerf :( I played since alpha on and off, so I would always come back to checkout the new expans when they released. Thanks for this.

Wow is amazing... there's a reason once upon a time over 10M of us actively devoted serious daily hours into it... it's an RPG gamer's wet dream as there's something for just about anyone to collect and experience be hardcore complitionist or role player.... Activison are a filthy slimey moneygrabbing bunch and this reflex in the game too but the core game experience Blizzard has build up stands solid!

Wow brings back so many memories. Started playing since i was 17, used to skip school to stay home and play or act sick in class just to get home and start playing. I’m 30 today :)

Yeah same boat for me.... Ridiculous amount of hours I put in years ago!

I just returned a week ago. Started right before wrath came out. I still remember my first Maxx run and then dived deep into raiding when ICC went live. Maybe just nostalgia but to this day I still feel like ICC was the best raids I participated in. Played straight up till MOP and then the dailies basically burned me out. Grinding all that rep just became such a chore. I'm leveling a DH right now and still haven't used my free boost yet. Once I hit 60 on this alt I haven't decided if I'm gonna bite the bullet and do more than casual stuff, at this point it's just wait and see.

Easily the best overall memory ever created. For a fresh brand new player, the content overload has to be amazing. Raids, dungeons, zones, pvp, quest lines, lore. Just a remarkable game.

If anyone remembers the times when you’d grind for hours waiting for that rare pet to appear to tame it! 😂 I’ll always love this game; will be playing again once I get a laptop!

Been 9 years since I've played WOW. Been thinking of returning after getting burnt out on Escape from Tarkov. So my questions are....is it worth coming back? Is the skill trees still watered down?

It's amazing how somewhere we are! I am 32 years old I joined wow when I was a sophomore in high school I stopped playing around 2007 to 2008 around Wrath of the Lich King a matter of fact it just came out and I made myself a death knight and I was working on a set when I moved and my computer broke and I didnt have the money to repair it well last year 2020 I decided to buy a new computer and reinstall wow I played for maybe 2 or 3 months before I called it quits it is not the same game anymore they have made it extremely easy to level and they have merged servers to where it is really complicated to join a guild

Damn that sucks. I wished the game was back to his prime, but guess memories should stay indeed only memories. Game mechanics apart I think that over last decade the whole mmorpg concept changed, especially the playerbase. At the beginning we were all "noobs", without experience and lost in such a big virtual world. Now it's full of professors, mostly raging teenagers or hardcore 40-45 yo people thinking they're the best players out there.

@@kenny4813 I'd shortly, but to be honest I'd not pay a monthly fee for a game that's almost 15 yo. I still have my old key and cd at home lol Moreover what hyped me during my experience as wow player was the lore, discovering new things, quests, hidden areas and so on. Sadly that part has been already fucked up over years by Blizzard. Playing classics would be like watching the same movie for the 101th time after the first 10 hours of gameplay. That's why memories should stay memories for me, unless you'd play it with old friends for nostalgia, or as some videos around(very nice!) relatives and sons together.

Started base game in 2004, on release day. Played for 5 years none stop, every night, through WotLK. Left in 2009, before Cataclysm in 2010. Base game raids were brutal with 40 players to coordinate. Sold my account, got £200 for it, so I would not be tempted back. Never been back since and have no desire to, as it claimed 5 years of my life, and it will not be claiming anymore. With all that said I enjoyed it alot, but is was my family life that suffered, as I was always playing on an evening. Game addiction is a thing.

@@Onos I am in control now, and I still love gaming. After I sold my WoW account, I bought a console and set it up on the family TV, meaning that I had to turn off the console when the rest of the family sat down for the evening to watch the TV.

What's with the shipwreck starting zone thing :') WoW, Path of Exile, New World...

I don't miss it at all. Played since inception up to Legion end game. It's all too samey now and still the over priced sub fee gets you bupkis compared to other similar MMOs. And don't get me started on Classic servers. It's a great MMO for people who have never played it but for vets I don't understand why...nvm addiction..gotcha carry on.

This game is like a crack addiction that takes years to recover from and if I begin playing again (waiting for install which takes forever), I play that I am able to break free and stay clean again. Relapse surely feels dirty as hell!!

It’s weird what the game does to you. The pull back in the day was really like drugs or some sort. I don’t play it anymore and the pull is maybe 1/10 of what is was but even after not playing for a year or two. Suddenly it seems to call you or some sorts and you start to look into it again. Very strange

Oh wow did the levels get reduced? Last time I played I had a character at level 110, apparently max level is 50 now?

Once you start, you never really leave.

I last played WoW in 2010. Was thinking if I should go back or try FF 14. WoW is the longest MMORPG I played, close to 1 year. I played EOS for 1 month before dropping it.

I want to play again but I moved from Europe to the US, and they won't let me transfer my characters and actually want me to re-purchase the game. I don't even mind repurchasing it but I don't want to lose all those characters I spent so much time on.

@@Onos its been a great experience so far, i started a new carácter and i lvld it all the way to 60 on the new zones just by questing im finishing the shadowlands campaign just now, its nice to find out that dungeon lvling os not a thing anymore, cant tell you about end game thou, but im guessing its more of the same like grinding gear and rep...so yeah im convinced so far and i plan to play wow for the next couple months....cheers !

I been thinking of investing the next stimulus check into WoW later this month and buying a gaming laptop

Hmm...I played WOW well after the lich king, but just before the new update, cataclysm. I quit playing before mists of pandaria came out. I thought a panda character was stupid. The area for mists looked pretty I like the asian inspiration. However have not played since, every few year's I get that itch to play WOW and here I am again. I no longer have a computer. So that urge is pointless. Thanx for the video.

If you have been gone a long time, the biggest adjustment will be that you can't gear up for raids, by doing raids. That will take ages. It's much faster to either pvp or do mythic plus dungeons, to get gear. The good news is, they are really fun to do; it's like raid level difficulty, but with just 5 people.

Mweh, they screwed pvp up. I only played and geared through pvp which i really liked. Now pvp sucks and you can only really gear through mythics and raids

Those that took the hiatus benefit the most from returning to the game. Those that didn't have seen and heard what is hidden in the cracks and witnessed the transformation over time. For me, it's always going to be case of "it could be more but never will be", after never pulling away from the franchise since Vanilla. Your gaming experience is your own to decide.

M8, I started playing in 2005... Stopped playing after they took away the skill tree... and the story was really boring already. Later on, the screwed up Sylvanas because why not, so didn't want to come back. Now I have this itch to start playing again, but won't do so until I find out more.

My first was Everquest. Then I played wow. EQ was the best but the first time leveling up in wow was so great. It was fun, but wasted so much time.

played since beta, quit after WTLK and really struggled with quitting. Havent been back since, but I struggle with wanting to play, but cant bring myself to give Blizzard a damn dime of my money.

U can use heirloom on every account now...

I havnt played since the level cap reduction. The thought of all those hours spent getting my characters to 120 just to have that reduced by half doesn’t appeal to me

Going past level 70, there were no new abilites or anything. level squish had to be done otherwise higher levels would be useless

Current WoW is a mess of power farming and unfair balancing. If you don't have the right legendary, or the right stat prio, or the right covenant, or the right conduits, you will probably find yourself being uninvited from groups. If anything, the disparity between casual players and players who play constantly has grown exponentially in the last 2 expansions. Fewer gear drops in PVE have forced raiders and mythic dungeon pushers into PVP content because their gearing system is much better and much faster. The game itself plays well, and there are quality of life improvements that have been made throughout BFA and Shadowlands that I enjoy. But the game needs some pretty serious work still. I would say wait until 9.1 releases in August, and try playing the game. Hopefully by then they have fixed most of these issues, but I doubt it.

started sometime during 2005, the 2nd expansion was coming out (Burning Crusade??) somewhat soon. Had 2 accounts and played Horde on the EXODAR server. Quit playing after the Pandarians expansion which I enjoyed but did not care for the following release (maybe Warlords???). That was 2014 around June/July if I remember right. Did not like some of the changes being made as I was born to be a grinder. :) Thought about coming back someday. Am in my early 70's now, retired with some time on my hands. I have wondered how many expansions I would need to purchase plus the 30 a month to activate both accounts. Not sure though. A time sink in my 70's LoL. Any advice? How many would I need to buy? Anybody? In reviewing other sites there are 4 more expansions I have not played. At 40 each that would be somewhat expensive for a fixed income. Good Hunting. Ertira.

Hi, i have a question. If i subscribe now to the official wow server (currently Shadowlands) would i able to access to Legion servers??? or others expansion's servers? Because far as i know the new expansion (shadowlands) is still low populated and since it hasn't receive any new patch there is too little content. Hey John. As I understand it you should just need to buy in to Shadowlands, after that you'll need to re-sub, so it is a little costly to begin with, but you shouldn't have to buy any of the older expansions you missed

anyone can help me ? So i started this game made my first character and started on the deserted island as well but since the first quest i already got gold for quest , at lvl 23 i already had 700 gold only from quests. Then i made another character and since then the quest gave only copper and silver just like in the video. Was that a bug for me , with the first character ?

Why are all the zones deserted?

It looks beautiful not denying. But I will never go back since they removed PVP servers.

I loved playing wow I started at lich king too and quit at warlords of Draenor. But I simply cannot recommend this game its just way too addicting in these times I played way too many hours I missed so many games and other great things, especially if you raid and have to ''schedule'' it just sucks. The freedom of gaming nowadays is just way more fun and I don't think I ever return to a MMO. Its a great game don't get me wrong but it will eat your time

Agreed - you've got to have fairly solid boundaries to play these games safely

it will increase overtime again
