Hi everyone! Just wanted to clarify my position and the purpose of this video. I personally think accessing these positions needs to be patched at the earliest convenience by Wargaming. As I said in the video they ruin the game for the other 29 players. This video intended to spread awareness around boosting, show the impact it can have and to gather your feedback surrounding the issue.

I don't think these positions need to be removed, so much as WG should rather try and make a similarly reachable, (but difficult) positions available on both ends of the maps

QuickyBaby glad you share this view, the amount of battles I've seen people sit there all game whilst enemy wipe us out leaving them useless and irrevelant for the majority of the battle. also on artic region I noticed someone got a udes up on the high mountain at the north east spawn. albeit a great position which won the battle for them, I agree with it being removed amongst these other "novelty" positions

It is an Exploit. It is the same case as T-22 SR mission rigging. Whenever I see player doing something like that (it happened sometimes but very rarely) I simply report them, no matter if they are at my or enemy team.

The red team had 6 tanks left at one point. All they had to do was cap with one tank while all the others work together to put fire on the ridge that the AMX 50B had to get onto to fire down into the cap. There were several very good players on the red team. All it took was a bit of teamwork. But of course its world of tanks so there was no team effort.

I personally LOVE those rare battles when we have a mountain goat. Its funny and this is a game.

unless the other side has a similar position over their cap and surrounding areas and have the tanks that can get to it, it gives one side a clear advantage. Good level design always ensures maps are symmetrical in advantages and disadvantages.

Mines is good for this. The huge easter mountain on 1-3 lines can be climbed from both spawns. One of the better climbing spots in my opinion

I agree with the OP. What did the Ru 251 contribute for most of the battle - they seemed to be driving around not doing very much. Players waste a lot of time getting into these positions rather than supporting the rest of the team.

It was super good for blitz. So many tanks were op because they were able to delete their last weakness by spamming „Premmo“ a Comet or a pre all nerf T-54 with the broken heat for example

They just made it worse... it is now easier to seal club because all low tier tanks got nerved except the collectors and the infamous ke ni otsu and because now there are almost only newbies on low tier. I have tried it i had a 90% wr in a bt-sv over 100 battles which should not be possible XD they made the new players rush tech trees which results in still absolute noobs playing top tier...

2 years later they won a blitz tournament thanks to these boosts

I think that if a boost is available for one side of the map providing an advantage, there needs to be some compensation on the other side of the map such as another respective boost or extra cover of some sort. There also needs to be some sort of counterplay to the boost itself, whether that means the boost entrance is right out in the open, or that the mountains are changed a bit so that from some angles players will have shots into it.

You are thinking it wrong. Both teams have different climbs available. And if you are able to climb, you can use the same path. It's about climbing skill. Check Xaneleons channel.

How is this the best MM available for the 50 B? Most tanks in the enemy team were heavies (including a Maus, a Type 4, a VK B and an E 75) while the driver of a 50 B would prefer more mediums with soft armor.

I noticed that 2 crew phrases have vanished from the game. I no longer hear "Looks like that one went right thru" and " Thats gotta hurt". Any idea why?

Wargaming should probably remove these types of map exploits, but it's not in any way cheating for players to take advantage of them as long as they're available. If something is included in a game, whether intentional or not, there's absolutely nothing wrong with players using that technique. People should do whatever it takes to win as long as they aren't hacking, colluding, botting, or using unauthorized mods. I don't care if some players think a particular tactic is dirty or unfair or dishonorable or whatever. If it gets results, it's the right thing to do.

These spots are supposed to be inaccessible. That would make it an exploit, not a cheat, but tomato tomah-toe. It is bad for the game and makes it unplayable in certain situations. What you call it doesn't make it any better.

Even if it was meant to be inaccessible, it is WG's responsibility to make it inaccessible. Since they are not doing so, it means that they want to promote use of such terrain. Exploits should be fixed ASAP, otherwise, it's not really an exploit.

That would be easy but there is a thing called co-ordination and it dosent exist in this game

This reminds me of playing in tanks in Arma King of the Hill, where high mountain ridges are both very effective. But in Arma, they are also very risky, due to the large number of potential opportunities to be out flanked by other tanks, wire guided and heat seeking AT missiles. With these positions in WOT, if you hide behind the ridge line, you are 100% safe.

Smart use of terrain features; which is quite refreshing from pre-set corridors where you have to load to gold to do frontal pen

1 min into game, loads gold.

Only been up there in training battles before, Then all the way around to the big peak in the south west area, Looks amazing.

I know I’m super late to this. But personally on the matter of boosting up places and anything similar on any game. I think yes the developers should patch it ASAP, but anyone who does it while it isn’t patched or finds new ones, can’t be punished or looked down upon (actually they look down upon you with their boosts) they have managed to find a exploit in the game or are using a found exploit. They aren’t cheating or hacking in anyway. Good on them for taking advantage of something broken. If a tank got buffed in a silly accidental way making it just stupid stupid stupid OP. You wouldn’t call it cheating if people were playing it. It’s just takin advantage of an error. Good on them!

I'd love to see that guy do the same amount of damage with half the premium rounds, and fighting on the actual battlefield.

That is an actual battlefield. The fact that noobs cannot get in that positions make them bad players, not this one. Simple as that. Your kill gives you an advantage? Use it. Make 150k profit and buy some gold ammo with it.

azgarogly, that's not the actual battlefield, and that's why it's blacked out on the map. If you were supposed to go there, there would be paths leading there and there would also be bushes and other stuff. It's just an exploit the people have found in the game. Just because you can get there, doesn't mean you're supposed to. Also, you can get there by being in a training room for 5 minutes, or by watching a KZread video. So I don't think there's a single person who can't get up there. Peace out.

The position would be fine if there was any form of counter play to it, but only one side gets a camp hole, there's only one way up, and it's relatively artillery safe and very abusable in most tanks

This round would've been way different if there was even one arty on the enemy team

Is it a clever use of game mechanics? Yes. Does/Can it have great implications in the gameplay? Yes. Should Wargaming fix these positions that were supposed to be inaccessible? Damn right they should... I've had some games ruined by some a**holes going up there.

SirFoch is a better player than QB, and he is dead honest. He, along with circon, represent the upper skill groups of WoT(2900+ recent wn8). That's why if you go ask any decent player in a top clan, he would find his views more in line with Foch/Circon than QB. Therefore, his opinion matters, a lot.

I think that strategy is perfectly fine, it's a good use of mechanics. It also counters the completely broken super heavies who love taking shots; probably weren't expecting the shells falling from on top of them!

the fact that not all tanks can get up on this locations it's what makes it cool, I like to have some of them

One of the best replays i ever seen And i prefer more locations like this It's up to players to find this opportunities in game and it make the game more unpredictable and more joyful

I think this spot is fine seeing as wargaming has a habit of shrinking the size of maps by surrounding them with mountains or putting a giant lake somewhere.

A maus can do the boost. the counter is to do it, it's an extremely easy boost...

its a perfect strategy so I cant argue with it

Mountain climbing is part of the game. Real life does balance the play field and some vehicles are better than others for this type of effort. The failure of the other team was not killing him when he was spotted twice in the climb and was basically a sitting duck. Personally I have used opposite side climbs as backup spots to support my team capping as the enemy team falls back. Then it really is a surprise.

Really though, who cares? The majority of players in this game are assholes who are interested in A) getting kills B) hearing their gun go "bang". But I guess this is one of those "he shoulda suicided with his shitty teammates!" Arguments.

So player fires gold rounds from the begining even vs scout Check. Player is probably indirectly responsible for his team crumbling so badly because he wastes so much time in his TOP tier tank trying to mountaingoat. Player continues to spam gold until he doesn't have one full clip of it left and shoots at the UFP and sides of tanks when he is in a position where basically every shell he fires AP or APCR will go through the roof/ upper hull of the tanks he is shooting at check. All this replay shows is that with a lot of gold ammo, a broken position .... a lot of luck (bouncing the ISU, the ISU missing, Bouncing the IS4... if these players had spammed gold like him he likely would be dead).... even the scrubbiest of players can end up with epic results.

except he did 4k damage before he oven got up there. which is better than all of his team at the end of the game. then after that he proceeded to carry his team to a win in an otherwise lost game. gold rounds are in the game so why not use them? if you want gold rounds to be balanced, reduce armor or put in weak spots on op heavy tanks then make it only +1 mm instead of +2. no more prem rounds :DD

I think they need to add ramps (maybe made of collapsed rock faces or ice flows) to make the upper reaches of the map more accessible. Opening up more of the square map space for playing on rather than just making it the playground of the tanks with high power to weight ratios. It would take advantage of all that unused space in the square that the map exists inside of. Also modify the cap circle areas with mounds or monuments or other things to give places for capping tanks to try to hide from incoming fire from different elevated postions.

I am going to be the first person to say that this was such a stupid move by him especially being a top tier heavy. And I can already tell that it rarely goes well for him looking at his stats. What a detriment to his team.

I'll actually be the first to say that blaming this player's unremarkable stats on this play is silly, considering that there are somewhere around 40 maps now, and you have to spawn on one side to capitalize on this position. so because you can't use this position to consistently affect your stats, this argument pretty much falls apart secondly, this position allowed this player to do a number of things: it allowed this statistically average player to take out several players that significantly statistically outperform them, carry a game with the majority of the teams damage and kills, and take a top 5 slot in damage dealt in that particular tank. a top 5 slot. held by a statistically average Joe player. I'd hardly call that a bad use of a top tier tank. just my two cents tho

i would personally like to see more of these secret sniping spots, and some where eehm larger vehicles can get into with only the assistance of one or two other tanks, and i want the sniping hill on helibron back because it was the best to blind fire at from the south spawn as arty/spg

back in the day in most every games exploits was considered the same as hacking and a bannable offense. that being said. on to the reasons why, 1: it gives players unfair advantages over everyone, and total advantage over some, (gun elevation that some tanks cant shoot up that high) the opposing side does not have this type of advantage so it makes it totally unfair if you are on the north team,,, ect.... 2: this is supposed to be somewhat of a realistic game and climbing mountains(yes i said MOUNTAINS) is far from anything close to realistic and even far from futuristic. maybe if wargaming would use a little of the profits into fixing problems such as this the game would be a little more fun for all. this is super easy to fix and thereafter if anyone caught exploiting should get a nice ban, 1 or 3 days might be a good start. I will bet you that wargaming has already has numerous complaints and ingame reports on people using this exploit. so maybe we need to ask wargaming their stance on this subject and what if any actions will be taken in the future to fix this or encourage the use of this exploit. either way wargaming should make a statement about this very subject.

wow, i am really amazed how you cannot see past your nose on this one,,, 90%+ dont know how or it will take to long for them to get up the hill while putting themselves at a disadvantage to get to that player on top of the hill. and taking snap shots at the cap while up there resetting tanks that cant shoot back, this all will force unneeded drug out games and more draws. try to play the game out in your head before thinking something is good. I mean, really?? you still believe what you wrote now that i have explained it to you? if so, then i can say 100% you did not think the battles through or see how much of an advantage these spots give. at the least just think about it.

ok, i have to answer to this,, you 60degree crap is not the issue and was never an issue, but let me clearify something about that 60degree you keep shouting about,, little hills on iwo jima could not be topped by tanks, rocky slopes cannot be topped by tanks, their are no roads up the mountains in the game, so i dont know what the hell you keep rambling about you are totally wrong,, again, i just proved it,,, and to go on about how wrong you are--- your definition of a mountain is totally 100% wrong has nothing to do with sea lvl... Do you make this up as you go along and forget about fact checking? wow i didn't have to look up the definition of a mountain but i did anyway just to fact check myself.. you talk about physics, i shown you some examples of how physics actually work, i am sure you will make something up again to debunk what i said,,, i can fact check everything i say and what you say, you should try to do the same instead of making up your own definitions. Arty would have had a field day killing him. The scout less so. only certain tanks can get there. and to use those positions must be completely exposed to return fire. The only balance question I have is if the south side has a similar exploit.

I don't like how you can defend the cap from a position like this, but I do like it when a map is deliberately designed around the idea of being able to use a mountain, like on the "Cliff" map.

I think it's nice you can do this, there should be more maps and places like this, I think it is fun and it opens an intire new dimension of the game

Well. I have to say that if you are not very good in this game or u dont have the required experience, then these positions wont help u alot. Only if u know what u r doing. Then these positions become far too over powered. Of course u cannot blame the players for takeing this smart position in game. Like why wouldnt u go up there if u can. And u know that u will get an advantage over other players. Still i cant decide if i would want it to get patched out or not.

All though it gives advantages it is also risky and time consuming players do this with the risk of being taking from the game and it is a smart way of using game micanics war gaming don't patch it !

dynamic game play boys. btw im sure his team was thankful for that. you know, so much fun.

Don't mind the boost positions, it just means you have to watch your mini map and snipe them to death. I have killed a bucket load of tankers who go to these positions. They have to fully expose themselves to shoot on the whole, so not so powerful if you are patient.

Sure .. now lets imagine u are capping as you can't follow that smart ass in LT in your HT. U can't also cap because he reset's every now and then. You have 4 min to cap and he has enough HP to reset even if u hit him back every time (assuming u can spot him).

Hey QB, You can argue that these positions take a long time to get into and therefore they are legit, but really I would really hope to see WG do something about this cause these positions are not welcome for the average players and by no means new players. Which again will get new players to be seal clubbed into oblivion and that is something I feel needs to be changed. More experienced players will do better cause we know something about WoT and have learned from u QB. These locations are mostly used by stat padders and experienced players who want's to fight as unfairly as they can. Most of us players wants to win, that's not a secret. Everthing is fair in War and Love, right? But really is it? What does your own moral say? And is this a real war or just a Game? Well for me it is a game and I love to have fun in my games. These positions in game ruins the fun for me atleast. In clan wars I have seen alot of boosting here and there just to get a tank up somewhere that isn't possible to get to solo. But in randoms we shouldn't have to watch for birds crapping on our tanks.. But this is only my opinion. Hopefully there are more of you that share my opinion so QB have even more on the List he can take to WG and try to make em fix back our fun. Keep working QB, we all have to work hard :)

at least with these positions lightly armored tank have something over the slowass heavy tanks. If we cannot flank in the world of corridors, we can hit 'em from above ;)

These spots are complete bullshit. I've had plenty of draws where light tanks hide in the hills drawing what otherwise would be a victory. Either every tank can go there, or none at all.

Interesting to note that in the WGL Grand Finals the teams were climbing into high spots and sniping, and no one complained. I had a favourite spot in Mines just behind the Western spawn point where you could climb the hill and snipe but WoT have blocked it now :( I do agree that they need to be balanced for both sides, but while they last make the most of them. There are plenty of videos showing how to get up there.

dude you always forget to go on "detailed report" on the end. thats very important to see how much credits he has done and spend for ammunition. do this next time. I saw that you forget this in many vids. multiple times

I'm fine with people being able to climb hills like this. For every game that we see where someone climbs a mountain and gets 12k damage, there are at least 10 games where people attempt to climb and end up doing nothing. It's a gamble to get into these unique positions and if people can make it work then good for them.

climbing in general is fine. THIS climb is really bad. it can be done in every tank in the game (i did it in the Pilot once). the only thing that pisses me off is when tomatoes can do this shit everytime with ease (his gold spamming doesnt help). Mines also has some climbs like this one, but they arent as OP as this and they have actual counters AND require more skill. if they removed this one, climbing would be good again and would only be performed by people who can do more than just W+Mouse1.

I agree. I say leave these special spots for people to find and explore. There are always risks doing these climbs and the payoff can be good or none at all.

Clever use of game mechanics already in the game. I wish sand river would restore in its former glory tho

it's cool how Juhani has view on the roof top of the Maus and Vk and still trys to shot the hull up plate and turret instead

Wargaming should open maps and use all these locations as standrard battle ground. Will give more tactical options overall and avoid OP locations. I mean, make these available for everyone, and not only those who studies how to goat.

So... if there are more OP locations, there are no OP locations... no that is not how any of this works. Most tanks simply can not climb up there and once somebody is up there, those who theoretically could, will get killed on the way up. These positions are pure cancer.

Are you stupid m8? Everyone who plays anything but fast tanks should get punished? Skill should not be deciding factor, but side of spawn and having picked the right tank to be able to do a gamebreaking climb? "Hey, look at this guy. He happened to have picked a fast vehicle and happened to spawn on the lucky side. Now see how he kills off half of the enemy team without any skill requirement and without any of their tanks being able to even shoot back. This is skill. This is fairness and this makes the game better and more balanced." Something like this?

Did any of you screamers and cryers notice how long it took for the 50b to climb? he took a big risk and could have been shot/killed many times before he was safe. I find it ok to climb not using it myself though(cant figure it out). I bet many here are using some special mods legal but not all can use them or dont know where to look for them. Just one examble, that special autoaim that is NOT the wot autoaim. SO stop crying because some players can climb a mountain.

1) I consider this an exploit - fault is on WG. They Could've fixed this ages ago. 2) He loads instantly premium ammo - so i see not much skill on that side. Just another wallet warrior and part of the problems WoT has.

Unknown_ Gaming 1) WG will fix it if the community flips out about it enough because they are still in the process of cleaning up a disaster. Unbalanced play is already killing their game. They are announced they are putting out information on the balancing issues at the Grand Finals. 2) You don't have to to use anything in high tiers and to make that statement is laughable because it's a cop out for needing to use premium ammo. They are most likely using blitz as a beta test because they announced they plan to cut premium ammo damage in half starting with Blitz. 3)After the massive change in artillery mechanics and the fact that it no longer dishes out damage like it's going out of style, players are slowly moving away from arty usage. Any commentor can tell you that through they observation of the game lately. If arty becomes a rarely used vehicle in the game then those positions are in fact a exploit. Solely on the reason that there won't be a effective counter to using those positions.

a tank would be able to get up there if it wasnt solid rock some snow and ice if it was just dirt and or grass ez pz

I don't mind the goat paths per se, but I doubt that there's another one across the map leading to a similar elevated area overlooking the cap circle. that means that the map is unbalanced every time someone uses the goat path.

I miss this map

I'm not going to get into matchmaking tiers, premium ammunition and similar things. I'll just stick with my view on the position. It is an unforeseen result of the physics changes. Something, that can actually become quite a nice surprise in game design. Currently, of course, they are ... annoyingly unbalanced, to say the least. Classic approach, both sides should have the same advantages; make the area accessible for all vehicles, while maintaining the difficulty of access, so it doesn't become an automatic draw if a standoff results of it ... all that good stuff. WG just needs to steer away from their typical 'we'll wait years before fixing an obvious controversy' mentality and all should be fine.

i think it is fun when you have some spots on mountains, You can just look over the whole map. But it is a little broken

WG should lock up those mouintain positions compleatly, it is causing "camping" and "unfair plane". then they should just create some new, miror balanced, bigger maps already. Or open the mouintain camp spots so even Maus gets there without boost.

i dont mind the location because this one isnt too unrealistic with some time im sure u could get some tanks up that slope with carefull driving. i do hate the use of gold i have never fired a gold round in a tank in fact the only gold ive ever spent was to convert xp to silver and take off equipment.

I mean, he was shooting down at the sides and in angled fronts of most tanks, he probably didn't need the gold. Plus, gold rounds are purchasable for in game credits, what's stopping you from using them? I don't use that many but when I'm shooting at the front of an E-100 in an IS-3 when were the only 2 tanks remaining, I'm going to load gold.

There were a few British tanks that were known for climbing mountains, that fact seems to have been forgotten by WG. They seem to have given that ability to tanks that weren't particularly known for it.

There is a reason why is map overlay black at that position, which means if it's black it's not supposed to be use. I really hate those mountain goats, few days ago I had tier X sweden td on the brutal position (have no idea how he end up there) but he brutalized our team from that op position, so yeah.. This ain't CS:GO to make boosts etc..

Climbing adds creativity to the currently rather dull meta and requires a certain amount of skill to get there, so they should not be removed. Every tomato can learn how to climb if they just took the time to learn it in a training room.

Lenny: This climbing totally destroys map balancing. Usually giving one team absolute advantage of the map, just because there is a glitch in the map design. You would like to play map, when you know that half of enemy team will go to totally OP position and your side doesn't have any such opportunity? Such games will be decided even before game will start. And if WG will not fix it, it's just a matter of time until everybody will use them.
