Hi Jingles, thanks for showing my replay! I had to double take when I saw my username, I never thought a replay of mine would actually make it here. I appreciate all the positivity, I’m definitely not a great player (and this battle happened right after coming back to the game after a year-long break), but I think you even gave me too much credit. It was my team that won this game for us, like the IS-2 pointing out to go for the artillery, and the Strv pointing out where the Tiger was when I didn’t see it. I probably would have died if it wasn’t for them. I’ve now got the AMX 50 120 and I completely agree with you, it’s way better! I was really struggling to get this one to work, but I’m having so much more fun with the 120 now. Just wanted to say thanks again, and I wish you all the best!

Smart to then be aware of chat. and nice teamwork from the dead teamaates telling you where you got spotted from et.c. This is what you can do if you remain in a game after you die. The person still playing likely aint covering all his angles unless they're a really good player, so you can watch their backs...and if you also have mapawareness you can let the team know likely spots for the enemy to hide/flank from.

Ah the AMX 50 100 and title Brown Alert time to sit down and enjoy the show. The AMX 50 100 and it's successors AMX 50 120 and AMX 50B are fun tanks to play, but badly armored. 10:38 Kudo's to the SU-8, it clearly expected Hounds_Chicken coming down the A line as he was well prepared for him.

Something that's not as well known is that the 50B actually has some of the best frontal hull armor of any heavy tank in the entire game. You can stick the beak around a corner and block a Jagdpanzer E-100 gold round xD

i've recently tried getting back into this game. Man... if you don't know the layout of the map, you are at a huge disadvantage. I used to be pretty good, yet now, I'm getting my teeth knocked out almost every round.

This AMX is the reason there was no cake to eat.

At the start, Hounds Chicken (HC) was off alone on that right flank and to his credit strayed out just far enough for contact and possible flanking fire in reaction to that kind of tragic dispersement by his team at the start. Cheers to the friendly IS-2 doing his fair share of work and working with HC eventually on the right flank with one of the t-150's. HC and the IS-2 made a good team. I agree with you Jingles. That vulnerability during the long reload is excruciating but if you can find that balance and make it work for you, luring people in, I could see how some would like the game play.

"Trade hp for damage" That doesnt work with modern tier VIII premiums flooding the MM.

The AMX 50 100 took a lot of getting used too. But totally worth it. The AMX 50 B is fun on my favorites

Preferred tactic on Ruinberg in Tier 8 clan wars was to rush a pair of these things straight for the back of the fountain in the square. We were fast enough to get there before actual heavies, but it took long enough that we only had about 5 seconds or so left on the reload when we got there. Then you just have tanks with armor light up the roads for you. You're just tall enough to shoot over the fountain, but at range, the turret was bouncy enough to shrug off medium rounds from the field.

I preferred the 50/100 to the 50/120 back then. The turret on the 50/120 had about 1 degree up, 1 degree down of elevation, felt.

Is sad that you don't see many of the AMX 50 100 at tier 8 because when you reach tier 8 you only met with premium tanks like BZ-176, Skoda T-56 any broken OP premium tanks I have a match where almost a complete premium tank only match where 4 tech tree tanks (most of them stock) and 11 premium tanks is just are tech tree tanks even worth grinding it ?

50 100 was bad long before WG start adding better and better OP premiums in the game. When I manage to grind this trough, I instantly sold it. I didn't care it was on sale. Extra -25% loss is not reason to keep it in a garage.

The AMX 50 100 had only the good pen going for it as the gun handling was so bad that you never got 6 out of 6 even at point blank range. The gun handling crippled that tank from the beginning and coupled with the long reload made it hard to play confortably. That's its legacy and why it was, and still is, a bad tank!

Ik the feeling man. Even 2 whole years ago I remember a match where I was the only tech tree tank (T69) on the team, the rest were all tier 8 premiums.

On wot console the 50 100 line got converted into a medium line which definitely feels more fitting

I hated this 50 100 with passion when grinding the line, but I absolutely love the Somua premium 😍 Also its standard penetration is most of the time enough which means .. credits credits credits 🤭

I actually liked the 50 100 better than the 50 120 because of the extra damage in the magazine and the gun elevation of the 50 120 is abysmal. The trick with the AMX 50 100 is to use that reload to your advantage. You have enough time and speed to disengage and completely change flanks before you can fire again, and the enemy team doesn’t expect heavies to obliterate someone on the 2 line and then show up on the 8 line a minute later to do it again.

On console, they changed this tank to a medium - the 120 and 50B as well.

0:42 I had hard time thinking about that and I could count only 5 different French heavies, but I guess you could say that on paper there's 7 tanks. 3 of which are M4 mle. 49's and maybe you could count the normal and Liberté to be different tanks, but counting that Frontlines version in as a one is a stretch since you can't own it. WG can't seemingly decide how they release the skins for the premiums. At first they did that Liberté way of duping the tank and giving it a skin, then they just sold the skin to an existing premium tank and now were back with the tank dupes. I guess the collector whales love grinding marks or just watching the tanks in garage go up.

In the opening scene, did you see that long delay before that turret finally snapped forward?

Both the reload and accuracy got me hating this tank when I was grinding it, it would almost always miss half or 2/3 of its shots when I played it and that meant I spent even more time reloading instead of doing damage. Than again because of its lack of armor I kept trying to play at mid to long range as a support tank, I think up close this has potential to be a good burst machine, but unfortunately it also means you're putting yourself at greater risk of getting rushed/surrounded during a reload.

I liked the 50 100 and gave up on the 50 120. The gun handling of the 120 back then, burned my brain out. ah well

Looks interesting tank to play, a fat Lorraine 40t

I´m not a tank collector, but i like to keep the tanks i buy. There are very few tanks above tier 4 that i sold. The 50 100 was one of them. The dispersion values and aiming time are atrocious. The gun was unusable at anything but point blank. You maybe get a chance to unload 3 or 4 shells once every 3 games or so. So you usually fired 3 or 4 shells in a minute before spending the next 50 seconds waiting for another magazine of dissapointment. If i ever buy this tank again, it would be after WG shaves at least 5 secs from the reload, and improves dispersions by 10% or more.

Jingles you old man, you need to take care of yourself, so don't give yourself heart attack watching WoWS replays lol.

French autoloaders are incredibly easy to misuse. The burst damage potential makes them look like perfect aggressive machines - you go in, you dump your mag... And in most cases you will die and be left at very low health. But the thing with autoloaders is that, unless you are in a very well coordinated group... They suck in early game - most autoloaders can't one-mag-kill the most same tier tanks. Not reliably, not without a huge loss of health on your own end. Imagine trading with a standard heavy - you dump you mag, one shot bounces, or low rolls - and the enemy is on low health but still alive and you are completely at this mercy for 46 seconds. He already put a shot or two while you were unloading, and he can just finish the job. No. Autoloaders get more dangerous the longer they stay alive. You want to wait till mid-game for best gains - you want to be able to reliable finish the enemy off. When some enemies are dead and you have more room to manoeuvre. And in late game, when you are dealing with wounded foes, when you can dictate the pace of the engagement, this is where the autoloader shines. 3 wounded tanks vs 1 on full health is still usually an easy win for the 3. Not when this 1 is an autoloader.

This line is one of the few I free-experienced. The others were the AMX40 and the wheeled light tanks. What is it about the French?

When will they eliminate the 'magic' barrels that pass through obstructions?

Why make a tier 8 tech tree tank good when there is a tier 8 premium tank people can buy? That's the mentality here.

I have not played World of Tanks, do play WoWarships though. I would take a faster shooting tank any day, to keep a steady "bombardment" instead of having 5 shots ready, then wait for something that feels like an eternity in the heat of it. Also, I have a tendency to flinch, so a bit more forgiving on the misses :D I do believe the chat often calls me "Weekend Warrior", unless my wall of skill do 200k dmg or more.

I seem to remember the 50/100 as a tier 9 french heavy and the 50/120 as the tier 10. am I wrong I've been away from the game awhile.

French autoloaders... The light tanks don't carry enough ammo. Meanwhile, if the AMX 50 100 takes an even split if all ammunition types (20 AP, APCR, and HE), it is still extremely unlikey to run out of any one type of ammo.

No disrespect towards the player, but this battle was quite badly played. As someone that played 50 100 with passion in my WoT times it was quite painful to watch.

Yea, the full reload is horrible, I actually played the thing with the long-90 for a lot of the time. Sure its less burst damage, but at the very least I spend about 15 seconds more per burst actually helping the team. Sure its also means you have to play smarter if you don't want to spam gold, but I'd rather play smart than empty my wallet or wait doing fuckall anyways.

It's the fact that you ALWAYS trade health for damage coupled with the long intra-clip reload coupled with the low alpha damage that makes it so difficult to play. The minute long respite from having to expose yourself to damage almost feels like a vacation. Notice that he didn't finish off the Leo himself at (7:22). You just can't kill enemies quickly enough, and you mostly only beat 1 of their reloads so you're guaranteed to suffer at least 2 hits unless they have really low health. Poaching really low health enemies is the French light tanks bread-and-butter, but as a heavy it's just really, really hard.

the intra clip isnt that long though, look at the char futur 4 for example, now that has a long intra clip. What you need to do with the 50 100 is double track your opponents when they attempt to retreat behind cover giving you an opportunity to kill them

@@jbjb8335 All true, but the intra-clip is still very long for the paltry amount of damage it can roll at. And double-tracking is situational and often only prolongs the time you have to expose yourself to damage. I'm not saying it can't do very well. It's always had a high skill-ceiling, but it also has a high skill-floor. The Futur 4 isn't that great of a comparison, it's playstyle is more like a bastard version of the French light tanks and the French wheeled... things.

Reload is not that bad, it's worse but not the worst. It's the un-load that is horrible. ~1 damaging shot/magazine You might get 2-3 if you shoot HE, but dmg isn't going to be better.
