hey Jingles, thx for featuring my video. going open on that Thunderer was more a "beeing a greedy idiot hunting his own damage record in DDs moment " then trying to win harder. cause i thought we won anyway even when i die. then i died and suddenly the schlieffen died too and i was like wtf. not earlier then this moment i realized there is a gearing missing and suddenly i knew how bad i fucked up. btw rewatch the video and look at excactly 11min 47sec what the health of our gamewinning Venezia was.

Well played pal, but this also should be a lesson: in such a situation, its better to be alive, because you can still influence the outcome of the game, especially a very tight game like this one. Had that second torpedo from the Gearing struck the Venezia, he would have sunk, and your team would have lost. Next time, play smarter.

Although this also means he wasn't "spending his HP" at all. There's a case to be made for his playing just slightly too passively. Never getting spotted only benefits YOU. It hurts your allies because the enemy can focus more of their shots (and attention) on your teammates. Nothing turns a turret faster than a destroyer getting spotted.

As a former DD driver, if you can do basic maths, you can DD: There are 2 circles, the range of your fish and then range they spot your boat. Keep the battleships between the 2. If they are speeding up, put green line ahead of gray line. If they are slowing down, put green line behind gray line. Okay, its a little more involved than that but that will get you started but should put you around a 60% player. Play with HP# not HP%. that plus a rough guess tells you how many fish need to hit, the more launchers you have the more you want to spread them out as you don't want them too clustered. And if you ever island drift a BB at 100%, full speed once your spotted and get under there guns but mind the arming distance. Give it a 2 count between launchers and just walk down the side. Not much can take a full salvo from most torpedo boats (bonus if its Russian BB vs Japanese torpedo boats) as long as you spread your shots.

To be fair to Chrissy we've all been there; you're convinced the game is won and have forgotten about that one ship that's been unspotted for an age or never spotted at all and so can start gunning. And he'd worked plenty hard enough to cap and spot, even when being radared he still made an effort to play for the team. Trust me, it gets really frustrating for DD players when you're taking risks to spot and cap while most of your team camps safely behind islands racking up damage, so I think it's a little unfair to criticise the itchy trigger finger at the end. Personally, I'd probably have learned my lesson after the first Thunderer salvo and gone dark, because "ouch".

Jingles, at 13:05 you're saying that's the short-range long-duration hydro ... but it started at 2 minutes on the clock, and Vampire II's hydro is 5 km. It's not quite the hydro trap that the pan-asian line is, but it's better suited to attacking than British hydro.

when jingles mentioned the match maker failing to do its job. it reminded me of a match i had yesterday in world of tanks, where my team was all mediums, and td's. with only 1 light and 1 heavy, while the enemy team was all light tanks and heavies with 2 td's and 0 mediums. i didn't even pay attention at first because I'm a bit of a noob who doesn't pay much attention until the battle already gets going (because why rely on "oh look, 2 top tier light tanks vs 1 bottom tier light and 1 mid tier medium. safe to assume they got light flank" and then they just yolo and die or kemp bush at the back of the map) and then my team's heavy was like "oh my god, me and the jumbo are the only armored tanks vs 3 tier 7 heavies. thanks MM" and i thought. huh, they got 3 top tier heavies, 3 good tier 5 heavies, and me and this t29 have to stay alive and spot a toon of o-ni's for our td's. fuck me

I'm pretty sure the guy shouting 'CAPS' in chat was actually going for the caps at the time he said that. He was just also the player in the Schlieffen (or however else you spell it), so was somewhat understandably not the first one in.

Nice Venezia was great save! Gearing and Thunderer played really well too! Have to hand it to Chrissy though he played a great game in the Vampire it's really easy to fuck up in a dd using the guns for so much of the game and he only dropped his situational awareness right at the end, nearly fatally (but fortunately not!) you can be sure if they had lost his team would have blamed Chrissy but without him they would have been nowhere near a win.

His team did amazingly well considering the trifecta of uselessness of the Yamato and Patrie. The Satsuma sucked early, but did well later. 10:50 in and they are all near 100% health and done little. Wow, potatoes for sure.

Wasnt it just last week a guy killed the last ship with 1 second on the clock? I remember another win where the losing team had gotten to 999 and lost. I am typing this BEFORE watching....just tuping after Jingles said "until now" I am looking forward to how this will go. Edit: worth watching, but oversold in the title.......i figured this one would be another "get to 999 and lose" like a previous video, some time ago

I think the trio of circumstances (chrissy trying to "win harder", the Venezia getting into the cap at the last possible moment, and avoiding the Gearing torps) make it even more dramatic, if any of those 3 things didn't play out it would have been a straight forward win
