WoL definitely has many ups compared to Subspace Emissary, but they would be harder to notice for someone who sees 90% of WoL being overpowered by spirits and f-smashed/air spammed/Olimar glitched all the way through and skipping almost every mechanic, which is like playing an RPG with a level 99 party from the start, so I am a bit impressed Alpharad is having this much fun while essentially just repeating 3 game actions for several hours again and again.

a lot of the subspace charm came from the unique maps that you were in, it put use to the platforming aspects of the gameplay, that sort of exploration felt a lot more natural than walking around a 2d map and playing on the same stages that you would already play to death. world of light is cool and all but it doesnt have that many pros compared to subspace

you could probably increase that damage with Issac Dark Dawn having a style (Probably Demon Style). Edit: I broke 400% with demon style. Next I'll try plant when he's big. Edit 2: When you're big, the damage decreases, likely due to the poison passing by faster.

WoL has spirits that make the game super fucking easily and powercreep every other spirit, plus olimar glitching and there you go solid game where you're just playing super smash bros but with gimmicks, it's LITErALLY just events mode. While the charm of subspace was it's platforming while fighting through monsters that felt sometimes like there was some sort of challenge to it, forcing you to play characters that you'd never play before and not having op spirits to hold your hand through the whole game. The game did get annoying by you having to repeat these same levels though to get everyone again but hey, it happens. I do really like how WoL uses all these trophies and introduces you to characters indirectly. Though the story is really shitty. Like really? Kirby out of every other fucking character survived? That's what they're telling me now? Why can't fucking Galeem use his light powers again to kill Kirby and everyone else AGAIN?! At least they handled the resurrection better, they had little Dedede badges that they introduced from like point A. The boss fights are trash compared to Subspace and less epic, Galeem's final battle was cool. I wish I knew what the fuck the big bad boys were tho that made it so cool lol, just a bunch of tentacles and explosions flying around the screen and it was kinda nonsensical. Plus the main theme is just a girl singing compared to the fucking tHEME Of BRAWL THAT WAS SO FUCKING COOL AND ePIC. That isn't even my nostalgia talking, i'm just saying that's how it is. I like Subspace because they went out of their way to make new properties and new assets, yeah it wasn't assets from the videogames in the series, but it wasn't supposed to be, Super Smash Bros is a different universe. EDIT: Also, WoL you can't play with friends, gg my friends, gg.

​@Gamemaster472 I mean there's a lack of meaning in the song any how, she's literally just singing about what is going on in the game and how fighters are coming together, i don't care about the message because there's hardly anything there in the first place and it doesn't incite any real feeling in me at least. Also why limit yourself with what the game is giving you, again if you just do that, you're just playing events mode, which is cool and all but I think this gamemode is given too much praise for what it is.

​@Gamemaster472 Different experiences, but honestly, yeah a song in a game should be about the game, you're right, but not word for word the plot of the game into a song, rushing lyrics in to fit into an already existing theme. It really felt rushed especially on how it was sung, fitting so many consonants into a line, especially the first verse. Can't wait for the new song about Solitaire where it's like "Stacking cards on top of each otherrrrr, put them in numerical orderrrrrrrr." While it then has no real weight/meaning to the song because that's literally just what it is. But again, I don't blame them cuz' there isn't really anything else to write about, but that's their fault lol. "Torn war hero," I mean they've been through hell of a lot so it could apply to everyone in that cast, it could also apply to you, someone who has control of the fighters and has been fighting through the whole game to come to the end of the journey.

In my opinion, subspace and world of light cannot be compared. They are both so different, and equally amazing.

Gameplay wise World of Light is much better, but a completely uninteresting story and literally like 3 cut-scenes max REALLY hold it back

I think subspace is the best of the two by far. Subspace made a 2D beat em up (not a lot of fighting games make story modes with anything but a lot of fights.) with a lot of original bosses and some awesome cutscenes. World of light was 1 good cutscene, and the rest were pretty bland and confusing. The gameplay was REALLY boring, as it’s just like every other fighting games story mode, with the last 30 minutes being the only interesting part. Sorry for being a little intense and some of that was exaggerated, but I still stand by my points.

I see where you're coming from alpha, but I think that subspace and world of light are two different beasts as subspace is a series of levels where you fight all these classic enemies, but world of light is a fight against Galleem and is overall a more epic journey. In my opinion. I love subspace but the amazing amount of clever balance between fanservice and just doing what the devs wanted to do with the project was and still is outstanding. Love all your content alpha!! Keep doing what you're doing!

Piranha Plant is the most OP character not just in Smash, but in video game history. You can't change my mind.

I feel like the ideal adventure mode would basically be a combination of subspace and world of light. Like still having some sidescrolling levels but not stretching out that part too much (lots of people weren't a fan of the final area rehashing from all the previous levels) but also having the amazing variety of regular battles with all those varied gimmicks and stipulations.

Subspace IS incredible, but the maze really kills it. That's all I'll say.

Can't wait for the next installment: "WORLD OF LIGHT: Where'd My Save Data Go?!"

I'd totally watch you play Fire Emblem, but I would very much like the vods to be saved, as I don't know if I'll be able to catch all the streams and it seems like the kind of game where missing a few hours could be incredibly confusing

I love the end of W O L with master hand and choosing how u end the game. And also the team really thought of scenarios for characters. But subspace was basically its own game in it rather than an event mode where you have to walk to the events. We have the spirt board. I feel like subspace was like the avengers and u could play as anyone after you completed it. And you could replay it. And of course you can just start a new game of Wol but you can’t redo cool battles with spirits. And there’s no boss battles in ultimate. Ultimate is still my fav game but alpha I feel that was a pretty beta thing to say. (Don’t @ me you’ Still awesome)

I love the concept of World of light, the Spirit mechanic is... clunky but it's a nice way to see faces from every game, but i do miss the more story focus we've had from other games. Subspace was great for the story and it pushed you to learn other character over just your mains. What little story we had in world of light is nice but it could've been so much more.

I’m with you on subspace or world of light. Subspace May be genuinely gorgeous thanks to the cutscenes, but every level (except the great maze) is extremely linear. World of light is expansive and has plenty of unique areas. It also has gorgeous map art and incredible battles

World of Light vs. Subspace. Well, I don't have Ultimate yet, so I can't give a personal answer just yet. I can, however, say that the Adventure Mode in Melee is my favorite campaign-type mode. Good, simple platforming with a few cutscenes and great stages. A close second is Smash Run from 3DS. Again, it's pure, simple platforming with dozens of recognizable mooks from Nintendo and third-party series, with a fun Final Battle at the end. I believe that I will enjoy World of Light, but it will likely not overtake Smash Run or Adventure Mode (Melee). Nice Plant gameplay, Alpha. 🤗

Subspace is a movie, world of light is a grind. Personally, I like subspace better but I think world of light is very unique and cool as well. Alpharad’s opinion is very valid, and I respect it

Cutscenes aside I actually really liked the levels in SSE. Sure, a lot were generic or mundane platforming but they still had enough to make it fun imo. I prefer Subspace but World of Light is still fun and I'd much rather have that than nothing. Sure beats Smash Tour.

I grew up playing brawl so I love subspace and I have about full saves of complete SSE all 100% so yeah I love SSE and think it is amazing Ps: I have over 1000 hours on Brawl

7:00 I did like subspace a lot more than world of light, primarily because world of light was just a spirit run with almost no cut scenes, but I appreciate u sharing ur opinion at the risk of ur own demise!
