On February 19, exactly on the 550th anniversary of the birth of Nicolaus Copernicus, the World Copernicus Congress was inaugurated at the Nicolaus Copernicus University. This is the most important element of the celebration of the Year of Copernicus organized by the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń together with the Jagiellonian University, the University of Warmia and Mazury and the Institute of the History of Science of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
