    Hi there! The two overlap, but the main distinction would be that retaliation occurs when an employee takes adverse action in response to another person's action (for instance, they might be participating in an investigation or filed a complaint). In contrast, abuse of power would be when someone in a position of authority takes advantage of their role to benefit themselves at someone else's expense. It differs because abuse of power is not necessarily linked/or in response to something someone else has done. This is just a brief description.
