What non distance runners don’t realize is that this is the easiest part, the end season speed training is like the cherry on the cake. The real killer is base training of 60+ miles per week.

most of those miles are done at easy pace (im talking 8-9 min mile pace), and if you're not doing them at easy pace, you're doing it wrong. its why most american runners crash and burn at a young age

that is the same case with all track events. the mileage varies tho. but the intensity follows the same pattern.

The US record for women 600m is 1:22.39 , so 1:29 10 minutes after another 600m in 1:34 is an amazing mark

2x600m with 1:30 is amazing for girls, if they can run 800m with same pace, they have chance to win olympic

with 1;30 and last 200 for 30-31 it gets 2:00-2:01 so yea it's a very fast time indeed.

NRA Jesus she’s only a freshman at the beginning of college. So basically she just came out of high school. These times definitely have potential. Not necessarily to win but there’s definitely room up to at least qualify

Rob Elmore do you see the paces? I'm not sure how good you are, but those are some pretty intense speeds. If you even could do this workout (which I doubt) it would be a struggle. I don't know what your definition of pathetic is, but this most definitely should not be it..

It doesn't matter how fast they do their workouts, 2 600m's isn't enough for an entire workout which take from 3:00 to 5:00 at my school.

with a warm up, drills, the 600's, the 150's the rest between, a cool down and a proper stretch you're there for almost 2 hours.

No reason to argue.. all I was saying is that the times were very impressive. And yes, in volume wise, this workout is lackluster, but it makes up for it in high intensity.
